You never watched the braindead slop TV in GTA IV and GTA V. The satire in GTA games is just so funny, especially for an American that deal with dumb politics and social intercourse.

His profile name makes me think of something you’d see on GTA TV.

Yeah, generations of people hunting for a deal and these companies responding to demand with cheaper options. So capitalism maybe but more so human behavior.
- Comment on Why do we put up with this crap? 3 months ago:
Because you always buy the cheaper seats. It’s not your fault, I do the same. Flying was literally for the wealthiest of people at that point in history, it was literally a luxury to fly instead of taking a train, bus, or a boat.

What drivers issues, don’t consoles require just as many updates? I distinctly remember console update taking upwards of a half an hour to install like 300Mb. Refusing to update would log you out and disable digitally purchased games. It often killed the mood when I just wanted to play some games after work, the steam deck filled that spot nicely.
Besides I use Linux so my drivers are built in and updates are unintrusive and take no time to apply. I have it set to remind me once a month, I get a little icon in the taskbar and I apply them before shutting down. It takes like two minutes.
I’m not judging if you like console but modern consoles are just as annoying as any other internet appliances. They need updates, they need regular Internet access to work, they can’t really do anything else, when it shits the bed your expected to throw it away get a new one, and often have tack on a monthly fee for basic features.
I need a computer so instead of splitting the cost between a computer that won’t be too slow to do any real work and a $500 game console I just get a more powerful computer and justify the cost with the money I’m saving.

I mean console games are always more expensive. There’s always something amusing about getting about 20 good games for five bucks on PC. Also epic games is still trying to bribe us with free games.

Yeah, whatever is reasonable and within the terms of your lease is usually the best bet.

It’s either that or maintain a swamp cooler that won’t work on humid days and can cause respiratory infection if not cleaned properly. A renters options are very limited and a window unit is a pretty good compromise if you don’t want to loose a deposit.
If you want to sit in a sweltering room during a 100° day, no one is stopping you. I’ve heard it’s a pretty typical thing for Europeans anyway. I’m not judging, the guy wants to cool the room down.

I don’t know how big your apartment is but why not a window unit. It’s probably the most efficient way to cook your apartment down short of redesigning the building.

Yeah, my parents didn’t really let me have more than a glass and these events were weeks sometimes months apart. It was very much intended to foster a healthy relationship with alcohol at a young age.
Also in my household you didn’t offer to pour a glass for someone you just told let them help themselves if they wanted unlike things like lemonade or tea. I’ve noticed as a result less people tend to drink or drank less if you didn’t offer to get them a glass.

I didn’t learn about that law until my 21st birthday. To me having a glass of coniac especially on special occasions was pretty normal. We also had red wine with pasta, and martinis when my parents decided to break out the shaker. Oddly enough I don’t really drink alcohol outside of social settings now and even then I drink the same glass over the course of hours.
