I tried Irn Bru for the first time a month or two ago, and it is great. I’ll randomly just get a craving for it now, and unfortunately I don’t have access to it without overpaying for it on the internet
What do they put in this stuff?

If there’s a Latino market near you, try Peruvian Inka Kola. Tastes the same to me.

Inca Cola for life! I was stunned when it tasted the same when I visited.

I’ve heard of it but have never seen it anywhere. I will keep an eye out

I think it’s a secret ingredient like chemical-X or something.

I once had to show my ID when I was buying non alcoholic beer. Even the cashier was surprised and quietly complaines to herself: “Even [brand] now requires an ID…” But it didn’t happen ever again even in the same store, so it was likely a system error.
bigbangdangler@reddthat.com 3 days ago
Irn Bru is fantastic. Gather it at all costs.
Fun fact: it outsold Coca Cola for a few years in its native Scotland. Unfortunately changes to the sugar tax in the UK, and the changes both companies made to their products as a result, mean that so Coke does now outsell it.

We had to sign for a DVD once. It was a foreign documentary about a car rebuild. But as it did not have any local age rating, it is automatically considered 18+.

Is it citrus?
Kolanaki@pawb.social 4 days ago
It has citric acid in it and it’s orange 🤷♂️

Should you like or not have access to Irn Bru, try Big Red. Similar (not same) tastes. Both good.

I find it so pathetic when people order things like this… must have been so productive with all that time you save

Ah yes, let me just drop on by to the store around the corner in [insert basically anywhere other than the EU] that regularly stocks a specific German soda.

Beware of Scots in warpaint for the foreseeable future. There’s a reason it’s called “Scotland’s other national drink”.
Other than that, heaps of reasons to have it delivered indeed. When I broke my ankle it’s how I got my groceries.
prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 days ago
Irn Bru is Scottish

Some people have injuries or disabilities, and can’t leave the house.
For example my mom doesn’t have a car and can’t walk to the store and back with heavy stuff. Home delivery of stuff is quality of life.

Irn Bru isn’t available throughout most of the world without ordering it online
Hazel@piefed.blahaj.zone 4 days ago
People getting really defensive in here, I agree with you bud.
Ordering groceries is something else than ordering a single soda :) and there’s definitely some classist undercurrent about white collar worker’s time being more valuable than deliverer’s or service staff.
prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 days ago
I ordered a six pack of Irn Bru a couple months back because I live in the US and have no way of trying the soda otherwise

Made in Scotland from girders.
…and enough additives to trigger your adhd symptoms even if you don’t have any. But no worse than any “energy” drink, I’d guess.
