I’m pansexual and non-binary. if you were wondering. which you probably weren’t.
we can’t control who we love
yes we can
The biggest self report. It means they are gay/bi and choosing to repress it. They think everyone feels that way.

I dunno, she has a boyfriend… Also she’s Catholic and was taught by everybody she was around that being gay is wrong and always had supervision while playing with girls up until she was 17 but maybe
always had supervision while playing with girls
That absolutely sounds like she expressed attraction toward another girl when she was little and someone decided they needed to keep an eye on her.
I knew someone like that who eventually came out of the closet.
Your religion sets rules for you. I don’t practice your religion. You don’t get to inflict your beliefs on me. Fuck off.
wait is that to me or to her
I think it was directed at the second party. But also shouted at the boundless void, just like most of my posts.
“I’m on a diet. It’s wrong for you to eat donuts.”
It’s extra funny because the most homophobic people have big “you brought donuts to the office and now I hate you” energy
I dont hate happy people, wtf?
Now imagine being bombarded by this nonsense for 12 years during your formative years, because I don’t have to imagine.
my dad believed it for 50 sum years. He was told to get married and have kids, my mom knew he was gay when they got married. When she outed him at 17 we ALL knew (well, thought he was bi anyways).
Now he’s fully out, my mom hasn’t talked to me in about 10 months, and I have boobs now.
What is a painfully masculine trait?
:(
Let’s say, for the sake of argument, being gay is a sin. Isn’t one of Jesus’ more well known lessons “let he who has never sinned throw the first stone” or something like that? Like his main thing is forgiving people and providing unconditional love. I’d say focusing on someone’s perceived sin is straight up non-Christian
If I don’t sin, what did Sky-Daddy-Incarnate die for?
Irrefutable logic
The whole “hate the sin, not the sinner” is such patronizing bullshit meant to make Christians feel better about themselves for hating people based on immutable characteristics that they’re born with.
Never take that shit at face value, none of them actually believe it.
exactly
I dunno hanging around with 12 sweaty seamen seems kinda… I dunno, gay?
I bet you choose to be attracted to pans. Sinner.
/s (shouldn’t need this right?)
lemmy needs it fer sure.

If what Jesus did or did not say is different depending on what religion you subscribe to, you’d think we could then make the logical conclusion that some portion of what we ascribe to Jesus was not actually what he said, and vice versa…

Critical analysis of their own dogma isn’t something the religious do. Their scripture is literally god’s word, everyone who believes otherwise is either a heretic or an outright pagan, that’s all the insight required in their worldview.

FTFY. That’s where they get the wilggle room “oh he didn’t mean love one another like that”

Literally this times 45,000 and that’s Christianity today.
