Smaller stars have a small enough reach that they can cater to their smaller audience. Some more popular stars have tiers where if you pay enough they have 1:1 sessions with you and interact with you. Yeah I never understood that one either. It’s shocking to me that enough people are willing to not just pay for porn, but pay directly for porn from one individual source that its become a viable and massive industry. Part of me thinks the numbers that these only fans stars claim MUST be inflated and they have money from family or something. But I’m basing that on vibes and nothing else so who knows.

I'd guess it's more that on onlyfans you can convince yourself that you're getting personal attention from the artist. It's a combination of creepiness with maybe a bit of loneliness.

What you’re seeing as “big stars” are really just the biggest outliers. I don’t know how reliable of a source it is, but from here it says that the average person on onlyfans makes $180 per month, and that 75% of all the creators make less than $100 per month.
Another source I found that’s a little more recent says that they’re earning slightly more than that, but not by much.
