Top night for it! Enjoy your tennis đŸ
PeelerSheila@aussie.zone âš9â© âšmonthsâ© ago
Nice pic!
Duenan@aussie.zone âš9â© âšmonthsâ© ago
Not my fâing day.
Just spilt my entire dinner on the god damn carpet and had to do a massive cleanup and remaking dinner again as all of it had to be tossed out.
Itâs the last thing I need right now!
PeelerSheila@aussie.zone âš9â© âšmonthsâ© ago
Poor bugger, I feel for you, that really sucks. At least you made another⊠Iâve been known to crack the shits and go without in a huff like an idiot
Duenan@aussie.zone âš9â© âšmonthsâ© ago
Trust me I cracked the shits.
It was souped based as well which made it so much worse to clean up.
Almost thought about going without as well.
Anyway time to take a deep breath.
Still annoyed at myself.

Stand-up meetings, where everyone is in fact sitting down and they go for almost an hour, a very crappy way to start the week.
Also this annoying person at my work took it upon themselves to run the meeting and they called me out on screen and asked me how my weekend was. I said it was fine and asked how theirs was, their response to my lack of information was âwow itâs like talking to a teenagerâ. Fuck off. If I donât want to regail all of the staff about what I did on the weekend like you do, then thatâs my decision to make.
TinyBreak@aussie.zone âš9â© âšmonthsâ© ago
âwow itâs like talking to a teenagerâ completely unacceptable. Go to HR and your manager on it. Claim to be offended (Because they wont give a shit otherwise). Youâre owed an apology and they need to learn they cant do it any more.
CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone âš9â© âšmonthsâ© ago
Oh I hate this cunt for you.
wscholermann@aussie.zone âš9â© âšmonthsâ© ago
I would have responded with " hmm that comment resembles something a teenager might say".
Duenan@aussie.zone âš9â© âšmonthsâ© ago
Wow. Just wow.
I answer much like you to questions about how I am and stuff like that at work and I do get ribbed a bit that Iâm never anything but fine but itâs all lighthearted and that theyâd love to hear that Iâm feeling wonderful one day but seriously that response is so unnecessary and ugly.
Me thinks you need to raise this with someone perhaps.
Taleya@aussie.zone âš9â© âšmonthsâ© ago
passive agressive denigrating remarks in the workplace? mmm well thatâs not conductive for a good working environment, Iâd suggest having a chat with HR.
melbaboutown@aussie.zone âš9â© âšmonthsâ© ago
I hate this person for you. Itâs none of their business and itâs actually a good idea not to discuss your personal life at work
wscholermann@aussie.zone âš9â© âšmonthsâ© ago
The press fawning over âourâ Queen Mary is really cringe and gross. She got married so what. She didnât invent the cure for cancer. Australia isnât special, deal with it.
the_procrastinata@aussie.zone âš9â© âšmonthsâ© ago
There are worse things in the world we can be angry about.
wscholermann@aussie.zone âš9â© âšmonthsâ© ago
I wouldnât say I was angry, more repulsed.
That aside whatâs your point? That I shouldnât have posted the comment? Hmm no I donât think so Iâm entitled to critique the medias silly fawning.
Bottom_racer@aussie.zone âš9â© âšmonthsâ© ago
Itâs a little fairy tale not as bad as the humidity.
wscholermann@aussie.zone âš9â© âšmonthsâ© ago
All that glitters ainât gold.
Mittens_meow@aussie.zone âš9â© âšmonthsâ© ago
She bailed on Australia to go live in another country. Thatâs how much she loves Australia
Seagoon_@aussie.zone âš9â© âšmonthsâ© ago
I hope the press doesnât harass her to death. The Ghouls.
PeelerSheila@aussie.zone âš9â© âšmonthsâ© ago
The âour Maryâ thing is pretty cringey but women my MILs age are pretty into it
melbaboutown@aussie.zone âš9â© âšmonthsâ© ago
Bummer
Iâve been struggling for hours to get my abdominal pain down to manageable levels and am currently back on a liquid diet. The severe pain is happening so frequently now and all the specialists so far have just shrugged or been jerks. Trying to get in with a pain management clinic via a private route now because this is debilitating.
the_procrastinata@aussie.zone âš9â© âšmonthsâ© ago
Iâm sorry, there are still areas where modern medicine just goes đ€·ââïž

PeelerSheila@aussie.zone âš9â© âšmonthsâ© ago
Iâm so sorry youâre going through this. I hope they can help.

Thanks. Fingers crossed thereâs something

I am eating chicken nuggets!!! I can not taste them and they are probably a terrible choice for my first solid food, but chicken nuggets!!!

Itâs been a long-ass day, so many calls,
So many people staring at their walls,
Calling us to do some dirty, hard work.Iâm trying so hard to talk to them all,
Tell them weâll pick them up when they fall,
I start at 10am, itâs the only real perk.I tell myself Iâm not burning out,
Itâs just a busy period,
Itâs what this job is all about,
I tell myself Iâm not burning out,
Itâs just a busy period,
Iâm just a bit worn out.Seagoon_@aussie.zone âš9â© âšmonthsâ© ago

Iâve made a new post named Tucker Time on !foodaustralia@aussie.zone replacing Whatâs for dinner? That way you can post about your breakfast, lunch, dinner etc.
It would be great if you could contribute unless of course if you live on air. Thank you.
RustyRaven@aussie.zone âš9â© âšmonthsâ© ago
I made a post on Facebook mentioning I had some time off and now Facebook is suggesting I start a chat group to plan a meetup. All of these âsmartâ AI/algorithms are really starting to be annoying - itâs like having an idiot friend around who constantly misses the point of things. Instead of adding value like itâs supposed to, most of the time it just takes up time and distracts you pointlessly.
TinyBreak@aussie.zone âš9â© âšmonthsâ© ago
Nothing worse than when technology tries to be âHelpfulâ
RustyRaven@aussie.zone âš9â© âšmonthsâ© ago
If the technology was smart enough to understand context it might actually manage to be helpful. But when your post is actually about looking forward to spending time at home and not going out, plus it is in a group with 82K members from all over the world and not a great venue to plan an impromptu meetup, then that sort of suggeston coming up is just an annoyance.
fullkitwanker@aussie.zone âš9â© âšmonthsâ© ago
What? Who isnât interested in making a chat group for a Meetup to best use their break?!
CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone âš9â© âšmonthsâ© ago
I keep get recommended sci-fi stuff on streaming services. Um you donât know me at all algorithm.
RustyRaven@aussie.zone âš9â© âšmonthsâ© ago
It would not be so annoying if they didnât go so overboard on everything. But itâs never just one or two ads, it takes over so thatâs pretty much all you see.
If reminds my of a situation my mother had with someone she worked with once. Mum said once that she liked the ginger biscuits they had for morning tea, and this person focused on that to the point of obsession - she would buy and present ginger biscuits regularly, christmas presents would be chocolate coated ginger etc. All presented with the best of intentions because âI know how you like gingerâ. Which might have been great if Mum did actually love ginger, but it was a faulty extrapolation from a single passing statement, and instead it was extremely annoying (to the extent she would regularly come home and vent about it, which is why I know about it!).
The way they are using their algorithms now is like that, going way overboard from snippets of information and most of the time being annoying rather than helpful.
TinyBreak@aussie.zone âš9â© âšmonthsâ© ago
PSA: Iâve lost some photos. Partly my fault, partly computers dying. Anyway right now I had 3 or 4 repositories or backups, most duplicated, but I only discovered recently that at some point something corrupted and I lost some priceless photos. Spent 3 weeks digging through old storage to find a backup and luckily, I found a VERY old SD card that contains them. Its a miracle that it survived this long. I nearly cried tears of joy. Anyway, if you donât have a good backup solution? Go make one. Right bloody now!
Iâm also open to suggestions for management/organization of photos. Right now im across iCloud for recent stuff, Dropbox for last gen stuff, and then google drive for older than that stuff. And its just chaos!
Seagoon_@aussie.zone âš9â© âšmonthsâ© ago
Print them out and put them in an album. Use the best paper, ink, glue and album you can find. The pictures should last quite a few decades, if not more.
mysticgreg@aussie.zone âš9â© âšmonthsâ© ago
This is a great idea.
Every year my wife and I pick out our fave photos of the year across both of our phones (because thatâs where they all get taken these days!), and when Snapfish do their big yearly sale at the start of Jan we get a hardcover photo book made up.
It helps to have a folder that we just dump photos we particularly like into as the year goes on, makes things quick come book compiling time.
Just this weekend gone our niece was staying with us, and she loved going through our little collection of photo books on the shelf, and I admit I enjoyed it too! I love the experience of browsing a book or album of printed photos.
TinyBreak@aussie.zone âš9â© âšmonthsâ© ago
Weâve just done that in the form of a calendar for the grandparents, but weâre talking a need for more long term cold storage.
Bottom_racer@aussie.zone âš9â© âšmonthsâ© ago
Thereâs a whole lot of earth moving going on out the back of mine and the reverse noise on one of the bits of equipment sounds like a huge wattle bird and the resident magpies are freaking the fuck out. Just standing there on the lawn staring at this excavator probably regretting the little feud they have going on (with the real wattle birds).
SituationCake@aussie.zone âš9â© âšmonthsâ© ago
I hate the new style reverse noise. Apparently itâs now the thing to use because it is more noticeable and annoying than the beeps.
Taleya@aussie.zone âš9â© âšmonthsâ© ago
this is making me laugh way harder than anything has the right to. Maybe they should try praying to the Magpie God.
Seagoon_@aussie.zone âš9â© âšmonthsâ© ago

itâs a toss-up in my household as to who sucks more: Colesworth or Australia Post.
At least colesworth delicer, I guessâŠ
MeanElevator@aussie.zone âš9â© âšmonthsâ© ago
Colesworth for me
Never had major issues with Aus Post. Hate the duopoly bastardry.
PeelerSheila@aussie.zone âš9â© âšmonthsâ© ago
Thatâs a tough one. Aus post I havenât have any issues but my local post office sucks. On the other hand Coles worth suck but the staff of my local stupor markets are lovely.

My friend and I were chatting outside a cafe when a Bogan looking human riding on a scooter passed us saying âđfucking Asiansâ. đ
I donât think I belong in that category but Iâll take it. She was def looking for a reaction and I gave her none and she just left. This was my first openly racist comment in 4 years, not bad!
Seagoon_@aussie.zone âš9â© âšmonthsâ© ago
The worst abuse I used to hear in Detroit was abuse from passers by who thought I was a race traitor. So maybe thatâs why you copped some nasty words. Not Asian but hanging with Asians in an Asian place.
Itâs unacceptable and distressing. hugs
Taleya@aussie.zone âš9â© âšmonthsâ© ago
just remember, said bogan has to exist as themselves. Helluva punishment.

Rental car (from my insurance) sorted.
I asked for a small car and got a Mitsubishi SUV (not sure what model, no badges on the outside).
Annoyingly, I canât get it to sync with my phone via bluetooth so Iâll have to use Android Auto and plug it in via USB, which means no Deezer. Sigh.
Driving it has been⊠a learning curve, especially when I hit three red lights in two minutes. Ah well.CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone âš9â© âšmonthsâ© ago
Someone on reddit Melbourne dt canât log in to aussie.zone using Firefox. I donât know what this means. Maybe someone here can help.
Seagoon_@aussie.zone âš9â© âšmonthsâ© ago
Cats are weird and full of surprises. I got a pot plant off the footpath, a bromeliad in flower, it has nice pink and purple spikes. Ted Cat loves it!! Heâs playing with leaves, hiding under and behind it, sniffing it all over. Heâs very cute. đș He is now half asleep on the sofa pooped out.
spoiler

Been applying for a few jobs recently and actually getting calls (interviews lined up for next week). One in particular is fairly senior and not related to what Iâve done (can argue that my experience is transferable) and the manager I spoke to is very keen to interview me.
Might have to do some sleuthing to find out more about the team and culture in the place.

Just watched my elderly neighbour reverse into his mailbox. Barely any damage, but I just know heâll spend the next 3 days âfixingâ it loudly with every power tool he owns.

I am caretaker free today, so I am donning a mask and gloves and taking care of myself. I am very curious to see how I go considering Iâm going to attempt quite a few chores today.
My mouth and throat feel good today so I might have a go at some scrambled egg or something as well, exciting times!

Since we have a large basement area i am going to be printing out a fritzl mugshot and hiding it in a dark corner. I am aware that I am a bad person and donât care

I just put my shower curtain liner in the washing machine, and it made me wonder how many people actually have shower curtains and not glass panels these days. I suspect it is an ever-dwindling number.
