Daughter has her first official ‘date’ tonight. She’s known the guy for a long time…and so do we. Grandson of one of the neighbours’ (very nice people) and my missus went to high school with the dude’s mum.
None of this will stop me from reenacting a very particular scene from Bad Boys 2 (if you know, you know).

Parkwood Green Dental in Hillside.
The best clinic in the area.
Travel there could be a pain though

You will feel guilt. But for a good reason.
You’re trying to do what’s best for her, and it’s being throw back in your face.
Guilt is normal in this situation.
In this scenario, you’re not the problem. You’re actively trying to find a solution, but it’s getting harder and harder.
I hope you stay strong through the ordeal.

My experience with cats has always been that they have very little situational awareness unless it impacts them directly.
Love them to bits, but at times they can be super frustrating.

I don’t think I have ever carried hot items on stairs…BUT if that happened, the cat would get pushed away with my foot (not a kick).
Love cats, but love not having burns even more.

No idea why.

Another suburban Saturday.
Bit of shopping, beard trim, gym, nap.
Take out for dinner. Couple drinks, bit of puff puff.
Comfort movie on tv.
Hope y’all having a good evening.
Life can be shit, but gotta enjoy the little fine times.
Also daughter got a part time job recently and her boss loves her.
We’re so happy for her and she’s feeling over the moon.
And we take the train home together during the week (from uni and work). She fell asleep on my shoulder this week and felt super embarassed later. Probably first time in like 10 years she fell asleep on me.
Anyway… rambling in a good mood

Dog sitting update.
Neighbour asked me if it’s okay if him and his missus stay out till late and can dog stay here.
I benevolently agreed…not letting onto that the dog has been walked, fed and is currently snuggled up to me on the couch.
I’m sleeping on the couch tonight it seems.

Kind of like Outback steakhouse, which has zero to do with Australia. The founders never even been here.

Neighbour is dogsitting an Australian shepherd this week. The dog’s owner is a mutual friend.
Neighbour had to run errands today and the dog is crying. Messaged neighbour that I’m taking the dog to my house (have keys to his joint) and he can stay out longer.
Doggo is snoozing on the couch right now and has made himself at home.

If all your drains are backing up, the issue is definitely downstream and most likely not your responsibility. Unless your sewer pipe on your property gets clogged (which it really shouldn’t).
Our issue is that roots etc clog up the sewer pit (where all the street drains connect) and we’re the first ones to notice.
- Comment on Discussion Thread 🐈⬛ Friday 27 March 2026 1 month ago:
There’s a proper sewer drain inspection hatch on my neighbours property (which I can see over my fence). When there’s a clog, water gushes out of it. The sewer pit is right behind our houses and gets clogged regularly. Once it’s past the property line, it’s Melbourne Water issued.
They clear it up within hours and spray our yards with antibacterial stuff to kill all the nasties.

House or apartment?
In a house, there should be an waste water inspection grate outside near the kitchen. If it’s full, the issue is down stream, best to call your local water provider (plumbers will charge you more!!!) and ask them to check if there’s a fault.
Also check your other sinks etc. If they’re draining fine, then it’s a localised issue…which is good.
If not full then it’s possibly the U-bend underneath your sink. Pretty easy to remove and clean. Otherwise you can push a wire through the drain to check if there is a blockage. If there is, remove the U-bend, and clean.
Good luck :)

My local clinic (been going there for 8 years now) is absolutely amazing at following up. The GP we started with is no longer there, but there are 3 others that are great. No worries with getting tests and referrals. They always recommend doing a full spectrum analysis of everything.
Also, bulk billing since day one.
The appointments are kept to the minimum time (10-15 minutes) but if anything is out of the ordinary they’ll arrange an extended one.
A while back I ran into one of the GPs at the shops and he was asking me how everything was since the last visit.
