Because at my age I’ve ran out of energy to be outraged after having to face many of the same things myself.
You don’t know my life so back off and stop attacking me. Thanks.

Certainly wasn’t intended as such. You usually need help to turn things around and even more help is definitely needed if you aren’t at a great starting point.

As a child that had met not quite all but most ACE criteria, I understand perfectly well your point of view. While the issue at hand seems small, all the problems that lead to this are not.
Unfortunately the government reluctantly and sparingly offers social assistance mainly to stop a riots in the street from the disaffected, but mostly don’t GAF.
The only hope I can give you is that you are still young and you’ve got time to turn things around.

The only thing that is keeping me going is to work a little longer, make a little more money so that when it’s time to go I’ve got a bit more than I would now to leave my nephew and niece.
And god help those precious children.

With all the stuff that’s going on right now I just think this world. I just can’t. I hate to say it but I honestly think death is the only peace I’ll get.
Even this very forum on which I post is under threat.

So alcohol, possibly the most toxic drug known to man that has ruined countless lives both directly and indirectly is perfectly legal. But marijuana is apparently a no go and completely illegal, despite the fact that is certainly less harmful in most measures.
I don’t engage in either, but if I had to make only one legal and try and regulate it I know which I’d choose.

To be clear, I meant in our country.
In other countries I’m sure their dictatorships also cause mental health problems as well.
It’s just in our country we are given the illusion of control when in fact we really have very little.
- Comment on Daily Discussion Thread ⚡️🐞🚂Thursday 28 November 3 weeks ago:
I would argue that our capitalist system is the root cause of many mental health problems. But it’s easier to make it an individual problem and medicate the population rather than change the system.
Capitalism doesn’t care about your mental health, it just wants you to keep being productive and/or consuming whether you are happy or not. And if everyone started committing suicide and opting out it would be a threat to the system which is why there is only just enough systems put in place to prevent this, but not really enough support to make people well again.

If you are leaving in 10 days anyway why do you need to meet them?
If they have not given a reason for the meeting do NOT attend.

I know this sounds trite but have you tried reading more books? They are time consuming, don’t require much mobility and will get you off screens.

Thought provoking post. I’m treading water at the moment but sometimes I get tired and think why bother.

Apart from my own personal struggles, I look at what the government is doing (or not doing) and think take me to Jesus now. I’m ready and I think I’ve lived enough.

I do have to wonder about his story. A lot of things have probably had to go wrong for him to get to this point.

I really do feel for you. Honestly I have been there. I know this is hard but you have to consider the potential to get another job.
I know change is frightening and painful and you might think trying to make it work where you are is the answer. It most likely isn’t unless management have a tangible plan to fix the problem.
I just don’t want you to end up in the situation I’ve been in where you end up a target.

Sounds like real event OCD. What’s worse is when you did do something objectively NQR, but you can’t move on from it and you spiral over the potential consequences.
It is a fresh hell.

I don’t know your exact situation but my advice is keep your options open and if you need to leave for another job at some point in the future that might be the best path.
But if things get really toxic do not fool yourself into thinking you can change ethe organisation or that it will change for you.

I do find it hard to trust people. And not without reason, when your own parents abandoned you (both through actual abandonment or through neglect and abuse), then running the gauntlet of a number of toxic workplaces I just find it really hard not to see the world for what it is: a very dark place.
Not watching the news helps. But only to a point.

Got omni spinfit ear buds tips for my pixel pro buds.
Noise cancellation vastly improved and the buds actually stay in my ears. I had to get the xl though for the most secure fit. Although there’s only 1 mm in diameter between the sizes. Hopefully I’ve picked the right size and it won’t make my ears ache after prolonged use.
