Full title: 92% of American adults aren’t going to a doctor because they cannot afford it. The health insurance industry must be dissolved & all of its executives criminally prosecuted for murder, conspiracy, and treason.
Why is it shocking? The us is a capitalist and egocentric entity. It is the greed and the violence. The result is they don‘t care for each other. And you know it.🤷
It is ignorant and bigoted to say that Americans don’t care about one another. Literally the most charitable nation.

What do you mean by that?
It’s lowkey true, if presumptive. People migrate here literally for the ability to dictate the lives of others and forms their own little kingdoms. They’ll do this even if it pushes them into bankruptcy or death. The promise of being a sovereign is often more alluring than reforming any of these systems for the public good. Better yet, most of them don’t even consider the public good. The world just stops materializing past their fov.

Many are convinced you can’t have freedom and an affordable doctor at the same time.
I don’t think the freedom part is accurate, but the propaganda certainly is. The news tells them what to think and they don’t try further. They are convinced the United States has the best healthcare in the world, so nice, it cannot be put into a more affordable model without becoming unusably bad. They believe the Magic Market has created the absolute best and cheapest option out there, and the government can only mess that up. Individually, to those who use it, you almost always get complaints as we find ways to make it MORE inaccessible and MORE expensive (eg, concierge doctors), but even those people believe this is the best and cheapest way to do it. They themselves just got unlucky for their personal and not unique situation. The news told them so.
Propaganda has some people convinced that universal healthcare means having to wait for weeks for a medical appointment, and also that even that (made up) problem is worse than not being able to afford to go to the doctor at all
For roughly 40 years now, no party has been all that serous about changing it?
also some doctors are jaded asf, if they see a couple times in a row they become frustrated and annoyed with you.
I want a doctor that became a doctor because they wanted to help people, and not because of the money and/or their parents riding their ass to become one.
The costs of medical school make this an impossible ask. The only people that can go to medical school are the people that have rich parents, or are OK with leveraging their future for the chance at becoming a successful doctor. Things go wrong in peoples lives all the time, school gets interrupted all the time. Asking people who just want to help others to pay $300k for the privilege of attempting to get to that point is literally insane. We also have a huge shortage of doctors. Go figure.
If Ds are actually Fs, then they’ll get rid of Ds and then teachers will just make the tests easier. Someone decided this person’s knowledge was enough to progress.
Healthcare in my country sucks and politicians have been trying to destroy what’s left for forty years, but healthcare in the US reads like a page ripped off from a dystopia.
For me, I think it’s more the unpleasantness of being ripped off than affordability. It’s such a fucking scam.

Who’s we? I had to stitch an injury up with a sewing kit last week. I didn’t get antibiotics. Half my friends don’t get to sleep in houses.

Not dissolved but it needs to be severely overhauled and they should be require to have actual medical knowledge.

Count me as one. I can’t be bothered to take the time off or pay for a diagnostic procedure. If it found something, I’d be extra fucked anyway. Why bother?
Then why aren’t they going?
Meanwhile me with gay healthcare, is going to see specialists within the broader category of my niche disease.

Can you imagine, and I’m not saying it’s wrong, but the initial wait times if/ when it becomes free? Like it will take 3-5 years to sort itself out
Yup. Same thing Canada went through.
Of course, wait times are atrocious right now in the USA anyways.

Such a big task infront of future american generations if it survives. I was baffled the other day when I heard an american be surprised the rest of the world have unfavorable opinions of them. I think the first issue to tackle is education.

North Korea and China wish they could have the level of indoctrination that the average American has.
A good chunk of them genuinely do think they live in the best country in the world, and they have no idea that they don’t. They really don’t know how screwed over they are by the government because they never leave the country, so they never realize. Until that changes there will never be a massive movement for political reform
