His behaviour sure doesn’t help.
He’ll still have fans after he is gone, just like there are old men who still pine for Stalin and Hitler.

I think when future history books are written about the downfall of America they’ll be entire chapters dedicated to his contribution to the collapse.
In a contemporary sense or in a historical sense?
Obviously the latter is virtually impossible to determine but I suspect he’ll be somewhere in the top 5.
Just as obviously he’s #1 in a contemporary sense. There is a lot of hate for Obama from people who swear they aren’t racist, but moderates and Democrats like/love him. I feel like Biden is universally slightly disliked.
Trump, on the other hand, is between vilified and slightly disliked recently (thanks to the Iran War and the Epstein Files). Sure, lots of people pretend to like or love him in public, but I think that’s usually performative to align with political allies as you’re virtually obligated to do under authoritarian rule. Just look at how few MAGAs turned out for America’s 250th. They just aren’t enthusiastic about him any more.
I live in a county with more registered GOP voters than Dems & Independents put together. I haven’t seen a Trump sign in over a year now. I rarely even see the stickers on trucks these days.
I kinda wonder if he’ll end up like Nixon. The people who still like him will “forget” about him.
They’ll pretend they never supported him
At least Nixon did some good things (EPA, opened up to China).
I think it goes from disgust and hatred to embarassment, forced acceptance and ego defense (don’t admit you were wrong).
I suspect that’s true for quite a few of them.
We can only hope. Trump has so many people who despise him, it would be an incredible feat for America to elect a president people hate more.
I thought this about every leader that has brought shame to us, then I’m somehow surprised about how bad the next one is in ways I could not even imagine. We might get a little reprieve now and then and maybe even some hope that things are getting better. Then the whip snaps. Shame on my lack of imagination.
Chomo Caligula is probably in the running to be the most hated person of all time
Yes but in the same way he gets more votes than any other president, there’s just more people than there used to be.
i hope the citizens who voted for him are the most hated too. kind of like how people looked at german people after hitler was allowed to happen on their watch.
he’s a convenient scapegoat for those who need him
As if when he dies anything , at all, will change.
Without question – at the rate we’re going he may be the last.
beyond a shadow of a doubt
He’s probably up there but I’d be very wary of recency bias.
If you put it down to a skeptical view of Trump’s critics, the guy loses without any fucking criticism
America basically voted Steven Seagal to be their president, so 100%
Objectively, he would be the most polarizing President.
He’s not only the worst president, but the worst American in our history.
You think Donald trump is worse than Ted Bundy or John Wayne Gacy? George Bush killed millions of people in the middle east. The early US presidents resided over the genocide of tens of millions of Native Americans and oversaw centuries of chattel slavery…
Y’all need to read some American history.
The most hated, and probably the last of this United States. Odds are that we would have a new nation or many that would replace this abominable thing.
Definitely not. China has a massive population and they love him.
All current presidents are.
But yes, and I don’t even personally think he’s the worst (Andrew Johnson.)
Barack Obama wasn’t hated when in office 🙂
Depends who you ask. He was the single most vilified president among conservatives.
indeed
most hated person before merz
Hated? Nah. But perhaps the most abhorred, despised, disdained, and even loathed.
easily trump. yeah you got bush junior and nixon and reagan but trump is not bad in one particular way. he is bad in every way. Hes killed us citizens with a personal paramilitary force. That alone is beyond anything you can point to with another president and yes. killing our own is a bigger deal than things that can be deflected in war. just like somone killing your spouse is going to be a bigger deal to you than a serial killer that did that thing somewhere far away that one time.
Yes
100% correct! The Mango Fuck Up Mussolini wrecked the USA.
not just
I don’t think so, just because his rich friends are doing everything they can to manipulate masses to like him and protect him. Those loyal to him also will die being loyal to him. As he said, he could shot someone cold blood and not lose voters.
Truman’s 22% approval rating is also hard to beat, even though history has looked more fondly on him.
By the general public and the world? Absolutely.
But you could make the argument that Presidents Lincoln, Garfield, and Kennedy were each more specifically hated by one particular person at a time.
Most hated? No, there are plenty of people who love him. Maybe one of the most controversial, it depends from which perspective you’re coming from.

This makes him an ideal President for his financial enablers.
Trump made Bezos, Gates, Musk, et al ridiculously happy. He’s easy to manipulate, greedy, serves their interests… and best of all, he acts as magnificent misdirection and takes a lot of blame for things he’s really too dumb to have anything to do with.
Around the world, people will sigh with relief when he’s dead… but those who financed and empowered him will be untouched and unacknowledged for the most part.
For just one example, Deutsch Bank. That entire worldwide system will remain, and continue to bring ruin
