Lawyer to deal with in the morning. Doubt I’ll get the answer I want. Feeling like the headmaster is going to scold me for scuffed shoes when I asked for this in the first place… ugh

Ugh replacements.
Tram to southern x -> metro train to werribee -> bus to wyndham vale -> train to geelong -> bus to queenscliff.
SpinMeAround@aussie.zone 3 hours ago
Glad you made it eventually!! 5 hours transit better than 5 hours of giant excavator??
Seagoon_@aussie.zone 3 hours ago
3 hours?
Bottom_racer@aussie.zone 3 hours ago
Without replacements it’s 3.5. Today was closer to 5 :(

Melbcat has has her solensia and vitamin b12 shots. I also pulled the carrier part of the new pram out of the box and put it together so she has a bit more room than in the standard plastic carrier.
The length of her body means there’s not much spare room so her nose can bump on the wire as the car moves.

Well the manager demanded I invite him to every meeting and I literally said 1 sentence in each 30 Min block
He’s territorial and insecure.
I’ve requested a meeting tomorrow just to get an idea of what I’m supposed to be doing all day.
If this doesn’t work out, I’m leaving IT and moving to a different sector.
Seagoon_@aussie.zone 10 hours ago
time for a quiet walk down the beach 😊
SituationCake@aussie.zone 9 hours ago
Hope you find some interesting shells, plants, or sea creatures!

Someone sat right behind me in co-working and started having an online meeting, out in the open because we all want to hear about it of course. I just did some subtle turning around with body language communicating “what’s that annoying and distracting sound that I suddenly hear”. Within a few minutes he moved into one of the sound proof booths. I’m getting very good at communicating my annoyance in ways that don’t involve any words. 😇

I heard everyone’s great advice about not having a third coffee but hours later after two cups of tea I realised that I also have some sweetened condensed milk in the pantry. So now, not only have I had a third coffee I have had a vietnamese(ish) iced coffee (ish because I only have a moka pot not a proper vietnamese coffee dripper thing).
I REGRET NOTHING!

Good luck sleeping tonight!
imoldgreeeg@aussie.zone 6 hours ago
Sleeping is my superpower 🦸♀️ If I have an espresso late at night it will keep me up but mid arvo is usually fine. Its more the jitters that bother me
Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone 15 hours ago
Alright. I’m finally being included in the sales process. I’ve got about a dozen intro meetings with my clients over the next 10 days.
Fuck yes!!!
Seagoon_@aussie.zone 7 hours ago
Five km rough beach walk done. Found some nice shells and a bluey jibbitz.
The cool breeze and warm sun is such a feel good combination.
melbaboutown@aussie.zone 14 hours ago
My guts hurt and everything is stressful. I’m resting up and watching Metalocalypse clips
Bottom_racer@aussie.zone 15 hours ago
New excavator next door for the massive mcmansion build going on. This one is the biggest yet and has the demonic low pitched wattle bird reverse noise not the beep. Not sure which is worse.
So I’m noping out and heading down to the bellarine.
SituationCake@aussie.zone 9 hours ago
I HATE that reverse noise.
Alamutjones@aussie.zone 14 hours ago
I’m off to take my library books back and get some passport photos taken. Does anyone want anything else while I’m out?
Seagoon_@aussie.zone 13 hours ago
2 little desk calendars please
Catfish@aussie.zone 11 hours ago
Orange tic tacs please
tombruzzo@aussie.zone 17 hours ago
I’m feeling better today but I’ll work from home anyway to help recharge
MeanElevator@aussie.zone 16 hours ago
I’ve decided on office on Monday & Tuesday, and WFH rest of the week. So far so good, managers haven’t said anything about it.
tombruzzo@aussie.zone 14 hours ago
We’re meant to be an in office first place but you can get away with a day a week and maybe a second one here or there
Seagoon_@aussie.zone 16 hours ago
also an at home day
RustyRaven@aussie.zone 14 hours ago
I woke up to no power this morning. I had to put my kettle on the gas stove and turn on my phone hotspot. Modern life is so hard.
SituationCake@aussie.zone 9 hours ago
Hope it’s back now!

I’m currently washing YL’s school uniforms so I can donate them to the MS Society which are happy to take everything. Some of the dresses and pants I’ve done a marvellous job of hemming. I’ve seen some horrendous hemming on uniforms that stick out like dogs balls. I’ll also wash the woollen jumper and de-ball it and wait for a nice day to wash the jackets. I will not soak the shirts nor iron anything.
As an non OP shopper, am I too anal or not doing enough?
melbaboutown@aussie.zone 11 hours ago
I always wash things before donating if they’re not new, I don’t iron
SituationCake@aussie.zone 9 hours ago
I do the same as you, washed and folded. Check for stains (don’t forget the underarms), missing buttons, holes etc. If anything’s wrong with it I bin it. I know I could attempt to repair things but I also know it would sit in a pile forever waiting for me to do it. There’s no shortage of clothes in the op shops so some things just need to go in the bin. I don’t buy much from op shops, but if I do I always wash before using.
SaneMartigan@aussie.zone 11 hours ago
I launder things then drop them off, assuming they’re in good nick. Mostly clothes I find in the park from cars that’ve been stolen elsewhere and rifled through near me.
SituationCake@aussie.zone 9 hours ago
Um what clothes in the park from stolen cars?
Thornburywitch@aussie.zone 13 hours ago
If donating uniforms, I’d make them so that a reasonable person could at least try them on to ascertain the fit. I would iron them all where appropriate, including the jackets. Collars and cuffs only on the shirts. Soaking is probably going too far.
CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 12 hours ago
I get what you’re saying but here’s the reason I’m not gonna iron. If I was to purchase say a dress, I would wash it when I got home anyway regardless of how it looked in the shop so ironing is pointless.
If someone purchases a dress and doesn’t atleast wash it before wearing then they probably don’t iron either so why should I?
tombruzzo@aussie.zone 14 hours ago
One great thing about this Rapoo mouse is it has a sideways scroll wheel. Tilting the wheel on modern mice doesn’t always work so it’s great to have a dedicated wheel again. Perfect for anyone doing a lot of work in spreadsheets or tables
PeelerSheila@aussie.zone 16 hours ago
I had just long enough away from work to start getting into sleeping in habits 😭
SpinMeAround@aussie.zone 16 hours ago
Same. Over a week back at work and I can’t seem to get back into rhythm 😭
anotherspringchicken@aussie.zone 12 hours ago
Same! Reverting to 6.30am wakeups will be painful
imoldgreeeg@aussie.zone 15 hours ago
I have had two strong coffees…I really really want a third but it might push me over from awake to jittery…what to do???
melbaboutown@aussie.zone 15 hours ago
Decaf and a snack?
imoldgreeeg@aussie.zone 14 hours ago
I really should buy some decaf for this very scenario
MeanElevator@aussie.zone 15 hours ago
Green tea? Or a decaf, if that’s an option. Maybe you just need the mental stimulation of a coffee but not the chemicals.
Eagle@aussie.zone 13 hours ago
Tea.
