Okay, I am so over children right now. Was not aware we’d see 5yo Niece again until the chaos entered the front door.
Then going into the room partner and I are staying in, and touching everything. I already woke up on the wrong side of the bed, so I was quite short with telling her to leave.
I just want to go home.
CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 2 weeks ago
I’ll tell you a little bit about privacy.
My darling child always tries to embarrass me and it never works but she tries.
Her: So I was waiting on a package from Amazon and I checked the delivery and I noticed that you were also waiting on a package. OMG $22 LUBE. Girl, you can get that from coles for $6.
Me: But it’s German and I’m worth it.
Her: I’m just letting you know whatever you buy online I can see so don’t go buying sex toys ok.
Me: I prefer to buy those in store.
Her: Youse disgust me. (Walks off laughing)
Husband walks into the room carrying cups of coffee, wide eyed with a smile on his face.
The point is don’t be ashamed. Own it. Don’t go fucking with my stuff. And if it’s not you’re kid, it’s not your problem to explain. That’s the parents job.

Being the only female in a house with blokes, I’ve been subjected to quite a number of discussions about penises and their behaviours. I like to take revenge by sharing information about the menopause in gory detail.
We are all now better educated so it’s win-win, really
LowExperience2368@aussie.zone 2 weeks ago
When I was probably your daughter’s age, I got myself a few ahem things online. My parents would go snooping in my transactions and saw it. I absolutely should’ve owned it. This is a family though who would not let me have partners in my room and see NSFW stuff as a very taboo thing and threatened to kick me out of the house if they ever found out I did anything.

children are a lot like cats, you cant reason with them but you can anticipate what they will do, they are also mildly teachable
you’ll be fine

I don't think I want to work with people anymore.
I work in retail (sometimes). It’s so odd how some customers think you’re really patient and kind, and others accuse you of treating them like shit. Yesterday I asked someone to do something that we have to ask customers to do, and I get called a bitch and that it’s all bullshit. I know people’s behaviour is just communication, and that I shouldn’t take it personally, but sometimes in the moment, I still feel my fight-flight-freeze response going. Body says danger. Was floating around the store today and the 15 year old girl at registers got really overwhelmed. A customer was on crutches and was waiting a while because the girl obviously couldn’t be in two places at once, and needed assistance. I walked past there and she was bawling her eyes out. I could’ve handled it so much better, by apologising to the customer first and helping them, and then seeing if the girl was okay. The customer was getting pissed and telling me that there should be more staff on, and that that girl didn’t know what she was doing. The girl knew what she was doing, but got really overwhelmed by that customer. She was justified in being angry, but taking it out on a 15 year old girl, come on. I went straight to the girl, and asked if she was okay, and then told that customer not to be rude to the girl. She’s 15 and trying her best. Then another customer came up from behind and said I should be more considerate to the injured person, and it’s not their fault if we don’t have enough staff. I kept telling her I understand, and she’s like no you don’t. Clearly you don’t know what’s in my head ma’am. I should’ve just said what’s going on and gauged the situation to de-escalate it, but I see someone crying and panicking, and feel like they should be tended to first. Going to try not to beat myself over this.
Anyway, cheers 🍻
SaneMartigan@aussie.zone 2 weeks ago
Nah good for you, customer service aren’t punching bags.
Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone 2 weeks ago
I would have done the same. The customer isn’t going to die because they had to wait an extra 10 mins
A literal child is so upset she’s in tears.
The customer can fucking wait or go elsewhere.
LowExperience2368@aussie.zone 2 weeks ago
Yeah, it’s not that deep! Sometimes things take longer than expected in life. Not saying that they should have to wait a super long time when it can be done faster, but no need to make a girl cry.
Force_majeure123@aussie.zone 2 weeks ago
Something that helps me in this situation is thinking something along the lines of: wow these people are pretty messed up to be treating me like that, poor things, must have had a hard life.
Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone 2 weeks ago
You are a much kinder person than I am.
Seagoon_@aussie.zone 2 weeks ago
you would think so but not always, I know quite a few arseholes that have had an objectively nice life
CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 2 weeks ago
You are such a beautiful person. I really don’t understand people sometimes. To customers who can’t be patient, tell your story walking cunt. It makes me angry who don’t understand a fair go.
Seagoon_@aussie.zone 2 weeks ago
so many hugs, you did the right thing
and remember, even rude people sometimes get injured,

I miss my old barber so much. He moved and so I’ve had to find someone new. First replacement didn’t do a great job and the second replacement, while better, still isn’t it. Too long first time, now too short second time. My head is cold. At this stage I’m going to just grow my hair out indefinitely and look like a bum.
StudChud@aussie.zone 2 weeks ago
Long hair on male-presenting people is so fucking hot 🔥

Ooh just saw the oxalis post from yesterday lol.
I suppose we need an update.
Aerogard (40% deet) works very well. It’s been a few months and surprisingly it hasn’t bounced back so I think it does maybe hit the bulbs. Didn’t kill any other plants using it. Found it works best when it’s a still, sunny day.
SituationCake@aussie.zone 2 weeks ago
Sounds promising. Oxalis is seasonal though, it starts dying about now and comes back in autumn. Will need an update in 6 months time. I saw in the Aldi catalogue there’s a weed killer heat gun on sale soon. Am tempted to get it to try as a chemical free alternative.
Bottom_racer@aussie.zone 2 weeks ago
I wouldn’t surprised if it bounced back and angrier than before lol.
Weed burners are good fun! I bought this cheapo one: …com.au/…/73683-hot-devil-750mm-super-heat-wand-w… and it does the trick.
LowExperience2368@aussie.zone 2 weeks ago
Does it just kill the oxalis or the surrounding stuff too?
Bottom_racer@aussie.zone 2 weeks ago
Surrounding stuff survives!

Everything is so X rated on the DT today.
We’ve gone from not naughty librarians, to dingers, to sex toys and lube and boobs… an ibis (if that’s what ducks are into these days it’s hard to keep up).
There’s a rave choon for that

Yesterday I did 8,660 steps during a strenuous day at work, then dashed home, cooked dinner and fell asleep! Woke up just after midnight. Must’ve turned back into a pumpkin or something 😆

I missed seeing the text yesterday that the meds came in! They’ve been obtained now, that’s a relief.
The flowers seem to be starting to come up in the pots now. The blessing and the curse is there isn’t much for me to do there.
It’d be great if either my area or health was better to feel comfortable going out more. I spend too much time on the internet which is tanking my mental health. Meetups aren’t the answer though. I feel like a lot of people there are using it to find dates, which isn’t something I’m interested in and creates uncomfortable situations.

Friend I haven’t seen since January is working in Japan for six months. I don’t know if she would do the same for me, but I’ve wanted to visit Japan, and maybe see her along the way. Flights are not super cheap, but I’ve been researching all week to the point where Google Flights shows me a higher price because of all the browsing. I feel like I’ve hyped myself up for it.
Went to my managers at work and they said they support my endeavour. As soon as uni is done, I will be on the grind for more cash.

I’m feeling a lot better today so I’ve just been chilling at home and tinkering with some music. It’s nice to have a day to myself where I’m not trying to do anything or get things done like a regular day of leave.
Yesterday I spent a bunch of time playing Echo Point Nova. It’s a must check out if you like your fast paced shooters like Doom Eternal or Ultrakill.

I’m into week 2 of listening to books about and by the royals
after the initial horror and disgust at the psychos like fergie, andrew and edward 8 etc my brain is slowly turning to mush
these awful people are all the same, it’s boring
RustyRaven@aussie.zone 2 weeks ago
Apparently there was another $75 energy bill relief payment for October. That will help a tiny bit to mitigate the massive bill I’m expecting now that they’ve actually read my gas meter instead of estimating it.

i’m taking a slow relaxed sick day

Insecurity
I got floppy saggy titties
Tiger stripes on my belly
But I’m a childfree thirty-three
So why don’t I look like those other ladies I used to be quite the fatty
I know this intellectually
But my wrinkly boobies
Don’t look like the other ladies He says I’m hot
But I feel like a blob
My tits will be down to my knees
By the time I’m fifty-three
Force_majeure123@aussie.zone 2 weeks ago

When I’m fifty-three My tits will be free To chat with my knees If they so please I’ve tried elastic and boning to hold the girls up But all the scaffolding in the world would not be enough My belly is wavy with numerout pleats, There may be stripes too (I can’t see underneath) I used to cinch everything in, Thought shapewear was a win. But I couldn’t breathe or bend So gave up on it in the end I gave up trying to look like all the other ladies did And started to embrace what before I always hid Now that I’m passing fifty my tits will finally be free To have a little chat with my once far distant knees.

All of this is so normal though, even at younger ages or consistently lower weights and with or without children. Have you actually seen every other AFAB body in the world?
Also it’s about what’s normalised. Whose bodies are highly visible/who do we see most? Models, actors, athletes. Do they select harshly for insane levels of fitness or impossibly high beauty standards (and possibly surgery or airbrushing)? Yes, yes they do. m.youtube.com/shorts/CsqTvLbcDB8
Whether you get highly visible stretch marks and how much boobs sag (because they all eventually will) can even depend on how dense breast tissue is or how resilient your skin is.
There was a song I was going to link called “I love my body” from the Netflix show Bigmouth and didn’t because there is a lot of nudity in the video and the show is crude… but it really shows a lot of realistic variations in women’s bodies and presents it as a positive or neutral thing.
