Hi guys! Just because he was an awful person doesn’t mean he deserves to die. I am actually horrified by how many people are condoning this, especially when this man has a family and a wife and it’s not even like trump when it would have actually done anything for our country. all this has done has made a gigantic fuss and give fox news rage bait.
WoodScientist@lemmy.world 21 hours ago
No, he actually, absolutely, objectively did deserve to die. Maybe not by vigilante justice, but he absolutely deserved to be in the ground. The world is a better place without him in it.
Have you forgotten your history? We hanged people at Nuremberg for doing exactly what Kirk made his whole career doing. We hanged people at Nuremberg for crimes against humanity who did what Kirk did. We hanged Nazi propagandists who spent years inciting hate against the Jewish population. Kirk was absolutely guilty of incitement to genocide. He was responsible for countless deaths. He made his whole career trying to incite violence and hate against innocent people.
In a just world he would hang for his crimes. But we don’t live in a just world. The closest we get to justice is vigilante justice.

This man wasn’t Hitler. This man was an annoying loudmouth who at the end of the day has a wife and kids he comes home to. He did not deserve this; this will only divide us more and contribute to the cycle of violence.
Squirrelanna@lemmy.blahaj.zone 8 hours ago
This is the same man who said gun deaths are necessary for freedom. Who was shot immediately after exaggerating trans gun violence and downplaying the rest of the gun violence. He reaped what he sowed. His death is directly caused by policies he advocated for. I would of course be elated if we did not have these problems in the first place, but if someone is going to die because of this shit, I’m glad it’s one of them actively making it worse.
Charlie Kirk himself wouldn’t have wanted it any other way. He’s quoted saying that empathy is made up and is dangerous. He didn’t want my empathy and he certainly didn’t fucking earn it.

morphballganon@mtgzone.com 20 hours ago
If you truly believe that, step 1 is to write your lawmakers and urge them to abolish the death penalty. Step 2 is to urge law enforcement to give up their guns. Step 3 is to convince every standing military on Earth to stand down and disband.
If you refuse to even try to do the above, then clearly you don’t believe what you’re saying here.

His wife and kid(s) were apparently in the audience, this was probably very scaring for the kids if they saw it.
Anyways crazy you’re at negative votes, not very ethical of the downvoters

I just disagree with him. I suppose he would have said his own death was worth the price for freedom, right? So he proved his own point, but I just can’t get on board with it.

I used to condone against 7th October, but what I’ve seen now I think it was glorious day of resistance against the illegal occupiers of the Palestinian territories. Israel has no right to exist!

RIP Charlie Kirk.
You were a good Christian man with moral principles with a wife and 2 kids. You were killed by a lunatic while you were exercising your freedom of speech, you were persecuted by your opponents. Some may say that’s a form of fascism, the same party that accused you of being.
The violent rhetoric of the left influenced some weak minded soul to take you from your children, and also taken your quotes out of context.
Charlie Kirk never robbed a pregnant woman at gun point, or robbed a bank, or killed a woman on a train, but instead encouraged open conversation between all parties so they could understand each other in a meaningful way.
May you rest in peace, and may your naysayers see the evil in their ways and repent. They may mock you because they’re unable to refute your debates, but they will reap what they sow.
RIP Charlie Kirk

Eew, didn’t expect usual necrophilia in this thread. Get his dick out of your mouth man, he’s dead!
fosho@lemmy.ca 15 hours ago
violent rhetoric of the left?
as far as Ive seen the left mostly talks about taxing the wealthy and universal health care while the right focuses on removing women’s, trans rights and jailing immigrants.
do you have examples of this violent rhetoric?
Akuchimoya@startrek.website 8 hours ago
Truly, without sarcasm, I invite you to read the gospels and actually get to now about Jesus. The shortest is Mark and can be read through in one evening.

Lumisal@lemmy.world 12 hours ago
Yeah he also never did anything Jesus taught. But if I’m wrong I’d be glad for you to show evidence of it. Otherwise your silence is admittance that you know you’re wrong.
Even the Bible shows that violence isn’t only sin, as Jesus showed when he flipped the tables at the temple and even took the time to make a whip to chase out the money changers. In this case the changing of money for example being blasphemous enough to warrant violence from Jesus.
Likewise, Kirk never directly was violent with anyone, but that doesn’t mean he wasn’t sinful.
That you think the left is the only one spouting violent rhetoric though shows that you’re just talking in bad faith however, when there are so many examples of the right wing - the one currently in absolute power + of doing so that it would probably be more than the word limit a comment on Lemmy has. I’m sure a book could be written just from violent quotes from the right. And not even recently but going on for decades.
Squiddork@lemmy.world 17 hours ago
It’s ashame it was such a clean shot, I would’ve liked to have watched him writhe around for a bit.
hardcoreufo@lemmy.world 14 hours ago
Ahh a “good christian man” he was anything but. Why do all of the “good christians” go against everything Jesus taught? Why do they only use his name to oppress others? A true christian would welcome and accept those that are different not try and belittle and shame them for their differences.
Begone CHUD.
psx_crab@lemmy.zip 14 hours ago
Didn’t he say gun violence is unfortunate cost just so people can own a gun to protect from the boogie man? I’d say live by the gun, die by the gun. He got his honorable death or something so you should be happy.
