The point is that “NATO” is an umbrella term for “US’s interests” or “US military”.
The US can and absolutely does wreck shit up for the sake of their own interests, regardless of international law. “NATO” only comes into play when either other countries are willing to step in or the US might need a veneer of legitimacy. - Comment on Chad NATO 1 week ago:
No, they are an alliance for defense. Nothing peaceful about it, they will fuck you up with military force if you mess with any one of the US’s economic interests.

Yeah, it seems as though it’s one controlling (virtual) machine per dispenser, so 1:1 to the screens.

Idk, if they’re plugging in one for each screen it sounds like a lot; there are libraries to do most of this.
X11 can easily handle multiple screens.

supposed to show advertising
I’m betting on this.
- Comment on Slurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrp 1 week ago:
You’re forgetting the main driving factor behind being able to personalize a screen vs a plastic label: advertising.

Anecdotally, a friend had a bunch of raspberry pis running inside specific devices, running hot, SDcards would eventually fail.
Started properly venting and cooling the pis… SDcards stopped failing (didn’t have to be MilitaryGrade™ either). - Comment on US education 2 weeks ago:
This sort of nonsense just isn’t a thing in Europe or at least not in my country.

a space elevator
You’d have to harness carbon nanotubes first… then deal with all the debris in LEO, then come up with an elevator that doesn’t take days to reach GEO (granted the counterweight can rest there and the cab can stop sooner).
