I assume those are made with ground cardamon, not full pods?
Alamutjones@aussie.zone 5 weeks ago
Yeah, there’s ground cardamom in the sugar blend

And the Bond on the old joint has come through. One utterly scathing RE review to compose for Purple Pingers 😺

PSA: new way for manufacturers to skive on what they sell. Just did a load of washing with a new bottle of laundry liquid. Clear bottle that was full to the top. Undid the top, and the vacuum released and the level of laundry liquid in the bottle dropped by about 2-3 cm. They’d squeezed the bottle when filling it to make it look a lot fuller than it was. Didn’t think to measure the amount of liquid but will next time.

Argh. Like opening a box of something and finding it is mostly cardboard packer, or the way Toblerone bits have been double spaced. Aggravation and lies.
Seagoon_@aussie.zone 5 weeks ago
not a scam
the volume of soap remains the same
the bottle sags a bit when filled
it’s sealed under vacuum to stop it from leaking in transit
CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 5 weeks ago
Agree. It’s like the air in a packet of chips. Acts as a cushion.
TheWitchofThornbury@aussie.zone 5 weeks ago
Um, I was thinking of tubes of toothpaste. When you change the topography of the outside layer by squeezing, the inside volume goes down. The difference here is that the shape of the bottle springs back which does not happen with toothpaste.

Going across town to see my nan and opa today. They’re getting older and it’s lowkey freaking me out, so I’m trying to visit more often 😬 it’s just a small gathering; myself, them, dad, maybe my uncle - so it will be nice 🥰
Dad also found some old photos, about 10, in his wardrobe. Ones he hid and saved from mums rampages. He sent them to me and now I have a real nice collection of memories!
There’s a number of them where I’m just a wee baby and mum is holding me. It’s crazy to think she was just 19-20yo and I’m now way older than that. She was my age when I was 12-13. I can’t imagine having a young teen child myself at my age.

The fingerless gloves are out. I’m listening to some Burt Bacharach to keep me in a happy, chilled mood while I sit at the computer willing myself to get going on some very simple, brainless stuff for uni.
How was I today years old when I learned that one of my favourite Röyksopp tracks (“So Easy”), the first track from their seminal debut album, was a freaking BURT BACHARACH sample (“Blue So Blue”). Anyway. Onwards with the day… if I can get this super basic thing done, I will have chalked up a win!

i’ll try and think happy 😊
LowExperience2368@aussie.zone 5 weeks ago
You can do it!!
TheWitchofThornbury@aussie.zone 5 weeks ago
Bacharach is less known that he used to be. And still underrated. I like his work too.

Just got back from the Seymour farm expo so the boys could see ‘Daddy work’. They enjoyed climbing on all the tractors and lawnmowers, and looking at the animals

It’s warmer outside than inside the house.
Fleece hoodie is out.

Why yes, I do believe I’ll nap and think about all the times last week I was desperate for more sleep lol
RustyRaven@aussie.zone 5 weeks ago
I have packed another box.
I really don’t like this whole packing thing. Why have we not yet invented teleportation so I can just beam it all over as is?
Alamutjones@aussie.zone 5 weeks ago
Just applied for a postal vote as I’m going to be interstate on election day. I am a whole grown up

Went out with Miniest today and she accidentally left her phone on the bus. That’s what I reckon anyway after I tracked it via “find my phone” and figured it was basically following the 513/514 bus route to Greensborough. Interesting seeing it moving around. Have secured it remotely, but luckily it’s a dirt cheap ZTE Optus prepaid phone and not something more expensive, why would anyone steal it lol. That’s why you don’t give your kids an expensive phone. She’s pretty upset but I’m like hey we’ll call lost property tomorrow, nothing we can do right now. It’s a good lesson to you to be more careful with things. Luckily it’s not an expensive lesson. She’s got the same haphazard mercurial nature as her father, but she’s a better learner! Elder’s like me, checks things several times and then checks again. There comes a time when I have to say to myself, “Right, I’ve got my keys, I’ve got my phone, I’ve got my purse” in order to break the cycle of obsessive checking.

Snuggle in bed time lol

Ugh. Melbcat and I both took painkillers and spent the day in bed. I’m feeling sick and the pain has been unreal.

Did not make it back home before the rain. Washing now in dryer - boo.

Guessing they chose to swim at the front beach which is where that piccy I took of a wave hitting the sea wall on Fri. is.
Was rough.
And that’s why we go to the dog beach about 1km away further in the bay when it’s like that.
Silly (and lucky) people.

Coming down with a sore throat. This is a big week trying to cram in the assignments that I procrastinated on last week. Hoping it doesn’t get worse

What do people call $2 shops these days? Seeing as that doesn’t really apply anymore. You know the ones I mean, they have gift wrap, plastic tubs, party goods, little ornaments, random stuff and there’s at least one in every suburb. The Bunnings of the people.

Oh no! Kerry Greenwood read my self published novel a few years back and said some very nice things and even let me quote her. Rereading her emails had been a great boost in confidence as I struggled with writing more things. And she was very kind (and funny) in the small exchange we had. I had planned on sending her the sequel at the end of this year. This is very sad news. Condolences to you and hers.
