That beep is so distinct. I would recognize it more than the actual startup tune lol

Startup tune? LOL I don’t even remember what that sounds like for the PS5, but boy do I remember the beep.

There was an update a while ago that lets you turn it off if you want. I’ve almost forgotten it’s sound. Almost.
Ten_Pound_Dump@lemmy.world 2 days ago
In the latest update, it added a setting to turn that beep off. It’s glorious.

But I like the beep
QuantumSparkles@sh.itjust.works 2 days ago
Then don’t turn off the beep?
ryedaft@sh.itjust.works 2 days ago
I like the beep but turning it to the lowest volume setting soothed my soul

When my 2yo son wants to watch Lion King or some other physical movie he beeps like the ps5 at me.

Either multiple consoles (although having a PS5 and Xbox SX seems a bit redundant) or they use an adapter.

If only my PTO wasn’t deducted every time I take a sick day.
Venator@lemmy.nz 2 days ago
Oof, where is that legal? Usa?
DerArzt@lemmy.world 11 hours ago
Man the US doesn’t guarantee sick leave or PTO. It’s not great.
radiohead37@lemmynsfw.com 2 days ago
Yes, it is legal in the US.

I’m in a situation where I work only three days a week and get by just fine. As much as I love not having to work 5 days a week, I’m not really feeling “free”. Mostly because I still can’t find to do stuff.

It’s also possible to play PS5 whilst being to ill to work. In civilised countries, you can (and should) take a couple of days off for minor illnesses - don’t spread that shit at work
BreadOven@lemmy.world 2 days ago
I think it’s at least somewhat common in non-US countries. At least from what I’ve seen.
Mr_Blott@feddit.uk 2 days ago
That’s why the specified “civilised” countries, and not the US
It’s a favourite dig nowadays :)

Yes, I’m on my second week of sick leave in Germany, struggling to get rid of some virus & laryngitis that I got on a work trip, so now I have to rest and not speak az all.
Currently playing TLOU on my PS Portal. It feels “wrong”, but then I realize I’d rather be healthy and back to work (and also do more productive personal things that I can’t now, like go to the gym).
CanadianCarl@sh.itjust.works 2 days ago
I forgot Sony made that. Why not get a Steam Deck, or one of the alternatives? The portal doesn’t have any storage, and if you have stick drift you have to buy another.
