The thing is that with a few minor setting adjustments, Win11 behaves exactly the same as Win10.
The only thing an IT department does need to do is disable all the intrusive automations that assume that you are using your work computer for personal use.
You donât need News and Weather on your work computer and Edge should not even think about saving Credit Card data, especially if you are processing customers credit card payments through a banking web portal.
And donât get me started on CoPilot. If you use an LLM to do your job, it means your job can be replaced by an LLM. What are you even doing there.
Speaking of which, how do you disable Adobeâs intrusive AI in Acrobat Reader? Adobe doesnât need to analyse my Pending Invoice Report.

Had a great time in Melbourne. The Jurassic World exhibition was a lot of fun. Took little one into the city and the National Art Gallery which she enjoyed.
But more importantly, Slurpees were a hit and she is more convinced than ever to move back to Melbourne.

Keep in mind that many IT departments can see everything you do on your computer. Your saved passwords will be stored in the Directory server.
I used to use Firefox for any personal stuff I was doing on my computer and I would use Edge and Chrome for work-related. (Firefox was also faster because it wasnât being bogged down with AI bullshit).
Our IT department remotely uninstalled Firefox.

I always keep that in mind with work computers. Whilst they can see everything you do, I also figure they need to be looking to know. So whilst your traffic is all being tracked, you need to be doing something dodgy to grab their attention as well

The staff at the place I was at a few moves ago had a fingerprint sensor to clock on. It was about a decade old, and by the time I moved out, was really really struggling to scan anybodyâs fingerprints. Lucky for them, it didnât do auto lockouts, but the bright sparks also had the bright idea to remove the option to clock on with a number after a couple of years of being fingerprint only. Which was fine until it cracked the shits

First day on the new job was uneventful and went pretty much as expected. A bunch of long meetings, didnât get a laptop until 2, and then couldnât login anyway. So I really just hung out in the office for 8 hours.

Holidays are officially over - just got my first debt collection call of the year.
Optus sold my debt to them, I never paid my last bill due to the Optus data leaks. Sorry not sorry.

The flies recently have been absolutely insane. Since that coincides with the end of TheStenchâ˘ď¸, Iâm going to assume that either they ate TheStench, or they flies I killed laid their eggs in TheStench, and now theyâve run out of food
Thereâs a gap in the skylight in the laundry that I canât put back myself because when I tried the entire thing fell out and it was a bitch and a half to put back in. The flies have been escaping from there. I went in and absolutely doused it with fly spray last night, and there are at least a hundred dead flies everywhere now. Thereâs a few dozen on the floor that escaped the gap, and I counted about 90 in the skylight. Ugh
On the double downside, all the flys have brought a number of spider out of hiding. Thereâs at least 2 living in my fruit bowl, and Iâve seen a bunch of others around. Thankfully not gigantic ones, but Iâm still scared of spiders so it isnât exactly ideal
Next weekend I reckon Iâm doing bug bombs. This house was empty for a fair while before I moved in, so itâll probably do good. Gonna buy a cobweb thingy too

Iâm crowd sourcing opinions. Iâve never done this before. Iâm in a really strong position as I will no doubt be training any new staff, and will get the most difficult client of the guy who just quit.

How far is too far to travel for a job?
I saw an ad for a job thatâs about 45 minutes one way by car (non-peak) and around an hour and a half by PTV. It is similar to my former uni commute in peak times. It would only be for two days a week so maybe it wouldnât be that bad.
