  You need to engage in having debt and credit in order to appease the score.

  I bought an apartment recently, and I’ve never had a credit card or debt of any variety. When I was younger my bank would dip into negatives or reject a payment fairly regularly. In the US that could probably cost me a place to live.

  And apparently the entire credit score is built up and perpetrated by these massive corporations? Like Credit Score is not even anything to do with the government, and yet it has such a pervasive effect on people’s lives and their behavior.

  It’s straight up creepy. Dystopian vibes. How do Americans tolerate this?

  It’s crazy to me these days how much work I have to do to do such simple things on Windows now. I wanted to auto-hide the task bar the other day and instead of just right clicking on the taskbar like I used to I have to crawl through pages of poorly organized settings in the new ugly fucking block format.

  I just buy old shit now. Old TVs, old stereos, old fridges. Anything that doesn’t need modern features doesn’t need to be modern.

  I know he’s a right-wing nut job now but I found Jordan Peterson really helpful in my youth. “Clean up your room”, “dress like the person you went to be”, “happiness is fleeting, and suffering requires constant meaning”.

  His old stuff was simple and straight forward, good lessons for a lost young man
