No, topologically there’s no such thing as “in a cup”.

If I do this with two cups and then stack them such that one cup is “inside” of the other, then the cup is inside of the cup that it is outside of.
Zwiebel@feddit.org 3 weeks ago
One of the sides vanishes, you’re left with only inside
Antares@fedinsfw.app 3 weeks ago
You’re reaching the limit of my patience.

Sometimes I put my underwear on inside out. I love the feeling of having the whole world in them.

YOU UNDO THAT RIGHT NOW! I DO NOT CONSENT TO BE IN THE CUP!
nialv7@lemmy.world 3 weeks ago
but a cup doesn’t have an inside and an outside anyways. nothing is “in” the cup to begin with.
otter@lemmy.ca 3 weeks ago
While I still don’t really understand it, topological equivalence?
Tiral@lemmy.world 3 weeks ago
Fun fact. If you tell Alexa you got a present from your friend that’s a cup, but the opening is upside down. She can’t figure out you just have it upside down. They’ll tell you to try filling it upside down and it’s a trick cup ect.
Waraugh@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 weeks ago
How can an opening be upside down? That doesn’t make any sense.
hansolo@lemmy.today 3 weeks ago
Guys, we’re all in this together, OK?
