- Comment on How do "lie detectors" work (I mean Polygraphs). If I'm loyal specifically to the constitution of my country, and the interviewers ask if I'm "loyal to [My Country name]", how would that work? 7 hours ago:
I understand the bitching and they are certainly stupid. I get defensive about it a bit because not everybody has the head on their shoulders to separate things, read the online discourse, and screw themselves over. Everyone knows it’s stupid, just play the damn game. I don’t want some junior inexperienced person setup for failure because they got themselves a hot head is all. Appreciate the clarification.

That person is an idiot without any actual real world experience. Good on you for sharing useful information. I’ve had colleagues and employees like him lose their job before even being hooked up because of their shit attitude and my advice to folks boils down to the same. Be respectful, be transparent, even if embarrassing (there is nothing they haven’t heard before), and just give your “yes”, “no”. Best case you don’t see them again for 3-5 years, worst case it’s inconclusive and they will run it again a couple times and you will be more used to what’s expected. Go in with a shit attitude with your head up you ass and nobody is feeling bad that you pissed away a salary/job security perk and will never think about you again after a weeks time as they press on checking the box and taking care of themselves.

I appreciate you posting the snopes. I am more bothered than I probably should be when someone claims this is real and if OP is willing to lie about something so mundane then none of their posts should be believed.

First, I think everyone should want to contribute to social welfare that bolsters the economy and society. I think it’s abhorrent to contribute to that negatively and maliciously, even if indirectly, and then try to further drag everyone down. She’s a cancer.
You think a child being raped only harms the individual that’s raped? Ever heard of seconds and third order effects? I disagree that the only person negatively impacted was the child he raped.

Forgiving student loans is social welfare that will bolster the economy and society collectively.
Her son being a degenerate child rapist burdens society to ensure the safety and security of its populace from his abhorrent ‘need’ to get his dick wet in children.
If anything she should be fighting for more broad societal benefits since she produced and raised such a destructive piece of shit.

I twist and tuck and keep it in a lower kitchen cabinet. Lasts so much longer than when I’d keep it in the counter. What is my alignment?

They hang out in my yard. When they are in my yard I walk out holding my dog do they see him. They watch while I walk out into the yard and I say “I’m letting him down now”, then as I lower him one of them invariably lets out a really unique short screech and they all run off to the woods followed by my dog running full speed, stopping at the tree line, and then carrying on doing his business as the deer stand off in the trees watching him in the yard, waiting for us to go back inside so they can come hang out in the yard again.

My remote controlled fan sounds like yours except it still has a physical switch on the side of the housing to change direction. I still hate the fan but thought I would share just in case you never checked.

So ironically I’ve used a rubber band similar to what you describe to break free and remove screws on several occasions. It’s not fool proof but worth a shot to avoid drilling and tapping.

- Comment on I have a very strange question about washers, dryers and the Middle East. 6 months ago:
All I have is anecdotal and I only remember due to the annoyance. I’ve moved six times in the last seven years. I have swapped the direction of my dryer door every time because the side hookups were on changed every time. My dryer is currently on the left. Prior to these moves I couldn’t say with 100% certainty but if I try to picture myself in that laundry room I think my dryer was on the left but it isn’t something I paid attention to until I had to swap the dryer door hinges every time I moved since so my dryer door would open away from the washing machine.
- Comment on why do our noses & anuses think different types of paper are softest? 6 months ago:
I think I might have gotten into my own head with it when I first noticed what you meant when I touched my lips. I touched my genitals after and then went to my thighs. My lips and genitals I can clearly feel that they are being touched by my finger and I don’t feel it through my finger. So I started poking my thighs, chest, back, feet, etc and it kept feeling the same but I think I was pushing too hard it had the experiment in my head too much. After reading this post I can feel the difference testing my lips vs my forehead and from there I seem to weirdly be able to tell my brain is influencing wether I feel the sensation through my thigh or my finger if I do that next. If I go from my lips to my thigh I feel it in my thigh, if I go from my forehead to my thigh I feel both through my finger. It’s like my brain is screwing with me/itself because it knows what I’m doing. I bet if I was less focused on what I’m trying to experiment with that I could do it in a more decoupled way. Such a small but cool bit about myself that I had no idea was a thing. Thank you for explaining and walking me through the process.
- Comment on why do our noses & anuses think different types of paper are softest? 6 months ago:
What does it mean if the sensation always seems to be “my finger is touching” vs “I’m being touched by a finger”? I feel like I completely understand what you’re getting at and it’s something I’ve never thought about before so I’m touching myself all over but everything feels like it’s being touched by my finger. I haven’t found a spot that feels like my finger is touching it yet and I really want to.

The engagement can be a surprise didn’t read any differently to me than what you laid out. The only surprise for my wife was that I got her dad’s blessing since that was important to her and when/how I went about it. Was in our home, I’m not someone that feels anyone else needs to be involved. To me our engagement was all a surprise but she had already participated in ring shopping with me and we had obviously discussed thoroughly before hand.
