That sucks. Let me know if you want to connect, you’ll he in the 3rd network of everyone if you do
Yeah man shoot me your deets and I’ll add you :)
Dear Apps everywhere: stop offering to summarize things for me. Documents, emails, unread messages. I don’t trust you.
Right?!?!
Ugh. Pay day is usually Monday. Boss did pays Monday (public holiday doesn’t bother him, he’s been known to go in and do our pays on Christmas Day if that’s the payday!) but there’s some kind of banking problem with payments for merchants to external accounts. I still haven’t been paid 😮💨 Hopefully tomorrow! 🤞🏼
My 25 min commute is supreme.
that’s good to hear 🙂
I have been generously gifted $50 to see me through a walletless week
It’s nice to finally have the doors open for fresh air. I’ve looked for my motivation but it’s nowhere to be found so gonna have to pump my body full coffee instead.
Woke up with puffy face. Thanks, hot weather and humidity, I look like I’ve been punched in both eyes
same
for me it’s the fans being on
Good morning! Survived the heat. Puts other hot weather into a weird relative perspective, “Oh, it’s only going to be 30°C on Friday.”
Ugh. Still in major sleep debt but eating something stupidly salty seems to have helped a great deal.
Would cost about $110 in fuel to get to Wilson’s Prom so I booked the tour bus thing. Also mother is worried about my car breaking down. It is 20 years old.
Probably more for overseas tourists but why not be a tourist in my own state?
Tourist in your own state is a great thing to do. I took six weeks long service leave once and just did things from home. Some hobby classes, walking tours, even just visiting as many local parks as I could to see what was there, it was great fun.
That sounds wonderful!
Ugh the place I do contract work for is absolutely pummelling me with new projects to take on. Looks like they’ve had some staff leave recently. No, I can’t do your work full time. I feel bad for ignoring the project offers but they are a stop-gap at the end of day, not my full-time gig. They definitely have enough work to hire someone with my experience full time, but it’s cheaper to just use the contractor I guess. They also don’t pay me nearly enough to take on the extra burden of their staff shortages.
I’m planning to use this situation to my advantage to get a better deal on fees, they obviously need me and I’ve been working for them long enough now to have some leverage. I’ve booked a call with the head manager next week, let’s see how we go! I’m becoming more ruthless in business by the day haha. But also, I need to earn the $$.
I had a semi-productive day today. One pumpkin has been cut up and roasted, most is now in the freezer. I also roasted some zucchini. Most of it will end up on toasted sandwiches in future, but some of the pumpkin will end up in risotto and similar dishes. I also made a pumpkin, onion and fetta pizza for dinner.
I seem to work a lot and yet nothing gets done. 😭
That’s housework
Endless as the sea
I relate to this soooo much!
Your meal prep is giving me good ideas.
think i’ll go out to brunnie then home to make todo lists and cook a salad for dinner
but damn, everyday feels like a battle against feelings of hopelessness
🫂
thanks
it’s just my stupid emotional self reacting to killjoys , my rational self knows that if I do things and remember all the love I have in my life I will be better 🙂
New resident magpie has joined the fray. Either new partner or kid of the existing long time resident.
The old one knows not to come inside. New one just flew straight in and landed a foot away from me lol. Brazen.
It’s a male, so probably thinks it can just waltz in and push boundaries. Easiest birds to get out of the house, just don’t want it taking a dump inside.
Interestingly when taken (well, walked and it followed) outside, long time resident gave a new call that I’ve never heard before and pecked it once and walked away lol.
Crazy smart creatures.
It’s also possible someone else was feeding the new bird, so it’s used to coming inside if they allowed it? Don’t worry, as you said they are smart, it will figure out your house rules pretty quick!
Set up a date for a couple of weeks away. First date in two years. Scared, but I picked the location and it is somewhere I’ve been wanting to go for a while. I will have fun regardless :) unless he’s a complete asshole, but I can recover.
Will be so much more comfortable to sleep tonight. It’s not the same with aircon as having a naturally cooler night.
I’ve checked my analytics, happy to go home now again after my break

may I please have a MASSIVE cappuccino, O Grand and Benevolent Chef 🙇♀️
Why is it still warm
it takes 20 min more to get to brunnie using train, metro, tram than by going by two trains
Was recommended a Meetup group that is doing a day trip to Wilson’s Prom for $99. They go to the Big Drift, Tidal River, Mt Oberon, Squeaky Beach, and the wildlife park. I’m thinking perhaps this could be aimed at people who are new-ish to Melbourne, want to travel in a group and/or don’t have a car. It just seems a bit pricey, but maybe that’s how much fuel would cost. Would only do it for the group aspect.
Mt Oberon is a 2 hour hike… thats alot to fit in a day trip.
That’s a 400k round trip from Springy which would set me back about $80 in fuel alone. $99 seems okay tbh.
Yeah I reckon
Does the price include food and wildlife park entry fees etc.??? Sounds reasonable for a biggish day trip like that. Also wildlife park is maybe petting zoo? So people can see a roo/koala/wombat up close and personal for selfie purposes? Petrol is probably the smallest part for multiple people in one car/minivan/minibus.
I think it includes entry to the parks! Also would be good to have someone else drive me.
I crashed early last night.
I declare: I AM TIRED
waves, Hi Spud. 🙋♀️
Hiya guys and gals, I’m gonna have to travel to melbourne for work every once in a while. I think sometimes I can plan a weekend or at least a day there once in a while.
I’m not gonna ask for sights, but maybe some quality bars and restaurants?
Well really, the must see sights are welcome, too
This is a hard one because there are so many good places. One tip is a lot of good food places have gone up high street from Northcote all the way up to Preston instead of Collingwood/Fitzroy because of rent. You can find good stuff out west as it’s been getting gentrified too
Well, where are you going? Cbd? Suburbs? It’s a big place
I only really know my locals around Brunswick - The Retreat, The Cornish Arms - there are more tho lol
i don’t even know why i got this new phone, i use very little of it , just camera, music, weather, messages, safari, qr for gov apps, and a few calligraphy apps
it’s a pita switching everything off for privacy
it’s big and can hardly fit in pockets or handbags
i hate hate hate it has my name & personal data, i will remove as much as i can
Hugs <3
Wearing the Dillinger shirt from the tour Greg Puciato wasn’t in to the Better Lovers show. People here will know and I’m prepared to get my area kicked for it

My wallet was stolen yesterday. Again.
Police reports, reports to the landlord (stolen from inside my apartment, part of a break in…the building has known security issues with randoms following tenants in) etc all filed. New cards requested. It’s fixable. I’m just vaguely disgruntled with the universe and everything in it
CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 2 weeks ago
Fucking low lifes. I’m sorry this has happened to you.
Eagle@aussie.zone 2 weeks ago
Vaguely disgruntled? You are such a cool customer. Hopefully all is right soon.
Alamutjones@aussie.zone 2 weeks ago
I’ve had three or four in the last ten years. At least this time the wallet appears to be the only missing thing
SpinMeAround@aussie.zone 2 weeks ago
That’s awful!! Hope they didn’t get the chance to use anything before you could cancel.
Alamutjones@aussie.zone 2 weeks ago
I’m down about $200 in rapid fire transactions - biggest was $70 at my nearest bottle-shop
Bottom_racer@aussie.zone 2 weeks ago
Bugger sorry that happened to you.
3-4 times over 10 years seems like a lot.

Just CBD things.
I live next door to a homeless outreach. Most of the clients are harmless, but there’s definitely a probability higher than zero that one of them wanders in and starts doing antisocial stuff.
Fires in the bin room in winter, for example, because someone’s broken in and is trying to keep warm. Drug use in the community garden - we try to clean up any detritus of that. Vandalism in public areas, and once or twice I’ve witnessed fights. I’ve had the lock on my mailbox cut off and needed to replace it. The occasional break in.
My tolerance for legally questionable shenanigans may be higher than many people’s!
_miss_cellophane_@aussie.zone 2 weeks ago
Oh gosh! That’s awful!
You are much more resilient than I am. I’ve had trouble sleeping since a break in years ago.
I do feel for people experiencing these situations where they feel theft is necessary for their survival though.
Alamutjones@aussie.zone 2 weeks ago
Yeah, look, it’s not my favourite thing. I’d much rather not be doing this today. Even so, this one bothers me less than many of the previous incidents because comparatively, it’s simple to fix.
Only one thing seems to have been taken.
Nothing else was damaged.
Nobody was threatened or hurt. I wasn’t even present.
I have the means to replace all my cards - I did a passport application all of two weeks ago, so I’ve even got the photos for new ID already on hand! - and nothing immediately pressing that I need the cards for beyond daily convenience.
I’ve got a locksmith coming to check over my door, and I won’t have to pay for it because my landlord will.
It’s a time consuming inconvenience, but I’ve definitely had a lot worse.
SituationCake@aussie.zone 2 weeks ago
How awful. So sorry. If they broke into your apartment, hope nothing else was stolen. If it’s happened multiple times, sounds like the apartments need better doors and/or locks! I can understand someone following through a foyer door, but it shouldn’t be that easy to get into someone’s apartment!

PeelerSheila@aussie.zone 2 weeks ago
I’m so sorry that’s happened to you 🫂
melbaboutown@aussie.zone 2 weeks ago
That sucks, I’m thankful you’re safe and only replaceable stuff was taken. And that it doesn’t seem to have shaken you up too much.
Fingers crossed for speedy replacements (and maybe victims of crime might get some of your money back)🤞
