Picked up the dreaded cold/flu thing. I think I got it from some snivelling teen on the tram to work same day I got the flu shot. It’s absolutely slammed me and I feel like I’m going to be useless for most of the week. I don’t have time for this.

I was keen on a Marketplace item. It wasn’t much, $20, despite its value being far more than that. Was scheduled to meet up to collect, but as it got closer to time, the seller took an hour to confirm their address (they kept saying they had bad phone signal…but I’m not sure what that has to do with en able to confirm your own address), and then switched it up from them being there, to needing to collect from someone else, who’s number I was given to call when I arrived.
As soon as I expressed concern, they got very defensive and angry. For me, that’s red flags all over so I noped out and blocked em.
Did I overreact? What would you folks do?

First interview in my new job search and it was soooo bad. Too many red flags to accept of an offer was made. Bit sad, but also hopeful it pushes me in the right direction!

Thank you! Was a very quick whip around the shop and felt safe when I got back to the car.
Probably just a convo if lack of sleep with the storms last night and a busy work week. Weekend recovery is on the cards.

Ugh! Random agoraphobia while out at the shops for ramen ingredients. Do not want. What the heck.
At least the ramen slaps.

Saw PHM last night. I’m glad I went into it having seen other comments about it not following the book exactly, as that helped me to let go of expectations and enjoy it as a different medium. Loved some of the visual interpretations though!

Awaiting surprise pakige sent from a OS family member. It’s not a special occasion (birthday/ Xmas), so I’ve got no idea what it is.

Completely understandable. No need to be sorry. 🫂
I’m sorry for the unsolicited advice. I only wish there was some way to help. Which I also know is impossible.

In the past I was very adverse to medication due to side effects, till I found a Dr that was willing to work with my concerns and we found a non-SSRI med that didn’t have the side effects I was worried about (Agomelatine/ Valdoxan). It may be worth broaching the topic with your GP to explore options.
I also wonder if a commissioned soft toy of Melbcat would be comforting. It may also be safer than her Urn to sleep with. 🖤
You are doing so well working through this grief. The first month is the hardest. Numbness seeps in a bit like a scab.
I lost my dog a couple of years ago.
spoiler
**it was the hardest thing to bear. If I hadn’t have been in a relationship with someone else acting as a tether at the time, I’m not sure I’d still be here.
For me the first year was a year of mourning, but it gets easier to remember all the good times, and how much they were loved. I have developed meaningful rituals on his birthday and anniversary of passing. He continues to be a part of my life as I continue to move on.
I hope you gentle recovery and I hope this somewhat helps or consoles you. 🖤

I’m so glad I managed to get my Autism diagnosis a few years ago, and have learnt so many things about myself in the process. It made it so much easier to handle a work situation today with the office building incorrectly cranking the heating despite an already warm day, and armed with the knowledge that my neurodiversity includes not being able to regulate temperature well, I was able to self-advocate and used sick leave to travel home before I was feeling too unwell. I may still have a migraine depending on how I bounce back, but it will hopefully be less severe than if I had remained in the office the full day.
So strange to me that several managers, executives, and a health and safety officer all commented about the high temps in the office, and no one did anything about it. Similar thing on the tram home; air conditioned, but all the windows were open and people just looked at me strangely when I closed the ones at my seat. I just don’t understand people sometimes.

Prefer nude for comfort, but wear short/ cropped PJ’s for fear of needing to get up suddenly and not being dressed (due to break in/ fire/). The BS anxiety around it just makes it easier to wear PJs.

Usually a cheeky last minute Sunday grocery shop is chill with the odd screaming child. Timed it wrong today, as I think everyone was trying to get their “to-do” list done before the rain hit. As busy as it was, everyone was polite and courteous tho!

Was craving carbs like crazy, so cooked up a bunch of spuds and made some mash with cheese and slow cooked onions. Absolutely hit the spot.
