  so, uh, I guess they’re officially coming home with us now. (well, thursday)

  We’re renaming them to Samuel (Sammy) Frederick and Maxwell (Max) George because we are not fans of JKR, but it seems disrespectful to summarily dismiss those who saved their lives. Also we found out that they were literally due to be euthanised the same day as Misha before KRS found an emergency foster. His Lordship also never looks at pet rescue because it breaks his heart but for some reason he did the day they were listed - with Max looking uncannily like Misha (including, as we found out on visiting, a damaged tail)

  The world works in weird ways.

  Cerys knows something’s up as we’re doing up the dining room as a landing zone, but she’s incredibly food motivated (as is Sam) so I don’t forsee any massive problems considering they’d both sell their grandmothers for a freeze dried crocodile bite.

      Misha was an incredibly good momma cat, and even years after being fixed would always come investigating if anything playing had a kitten mew in it. So we’re telling ourselves we’re looking after babies for her.

      oh we’ve had kittens and ginger boys before (Punkin and Cerys and their siblings were literally born in our last house), so we know what to expect. Bandaids stocked up and all breakables are being moved to floor level. The one and only time Punkin decided to check out the top of the fridge he smashed four out of a box of six imported belgian tulip glasses all over the kitchen so His Lordship has LEARNED THE LESSON

      Today was pretty bad so I’m really hoping I make it through these interviews this week.

      It’s sort of at the point of: if I stay, I’m putting myself at risk from stress.

  I am back from my local cinema. It is a very nice and old fashioned theatre. I watched PHM again, to catch the things I missed the first time.

  It is a very beautiful movie, the images unforgettable.

      even tho it was a morning session the cinema was a quarter full!

      there were about a dozen young teens in there taking advantage of the day off due to the teachers strike 😊, How is it young ones love to sit near front?

  Y’know, if America gets to have military bases in Australia, and gets to arbitrarily decide to go to war in a way that fucks us over, and gets to influence the outcome of our elections in ways that benefit them, I really reckon we should get a say in their elections, too.

    We shall bestow upon them the blessing of compulsory voting and entirely rework how their elections are performed. Also we exile the GOP to Epstein island, with no resources and an abundance of hungry north Australian crocs.

  Black cat is napping in the back yard. Feeling so sad that Melbcat couldn’t enjoy it the same way (due to safety reasons).

  Wondering if I should make a winter shelter for him but what happens if he comes to rely on me/my place and then I move? Also my physical and mental health is really unstable now. 😔

  If he wasn’t owned and I wasn’t going through hell I would consider fostering or adoption but that’s not really a possibility. It’s a real pickle.

  I’m gonna help YL clean her room. Which means I will bend while she watches. I try to act nonchalant but when I see t-shirts hung up and dresses and nice tops go in the drawer that I have washed, there’s a little bit inside me that screams. I keep it in. It’s best that way.

  I really don’t feel like doing art or crafts right now. I don’t want to do more cleaning or mending. I don’t want to learn music. Trying to cut through hard plastic can wait.

  Currently learning to do a basic interrupted suture with a mattress needle on the cut skin of a banana (using tweezers in lieu of forceps and normal thread - don’t have anything like a needle holder)… Mad respect to doctors because this is not easy. The peel is so inflexible that it’s hard to close the cut without tearing through the skin. Don’t get injured around me folks, because this is not mastered and I don’t plan to use this.

  Might learn bandaging or mix it up and try more soldering next time.

  Usually I buy the 100 packs of generic black tea bags but I’m having some Earl Grey tea as a treat (from one of the little 10 packs).

  I got a lift to Kmart for new earbuds and checked out the tubs… the different sizes don’t nest properly, the smaller one was too tall to allow the outer lid to go on. Even without the insulating layers of straw adding to the height.

  Maybe I’ll see what the big green shed offers, or if I can make something work with the miscellaneous tubs I have. Though they’re not black to hold in heat and aren’t uv safe. Cutting them will be interesting because I have a mini saw and Stanley knife but no blowtorch or drill. I just saw a pair of fuzzy buns wander past so that means he does not go home when it rains.

  Otherwise I don’t know what else to do. I bought some books from the op shop but have been unable to concentrate on reading even though I used to be a big reader. Maybe I’ll go learn a random skill off youtube. idk.

  Things got really bad recently, I’m being referred to grief counselling and am trying to stay busy but am dying inside. Everything reminds me of my deeply loved Melbcat and I’m swinging between regrets that I didn’t try harder to save her and regrets at making her hold on because I didn’t know the worst of it. And regrets that I didn’t do even more to make her happy and enriched in the time we had. I just want to hug her again.

  Made it down the bellarine yesterday.

  Way too much noise from the buildings next door.

  Made my mind up when there was 180 degree oasis wonderwall at 7:00am mixed with bashing scaffolding together. I am NOT doing wonderwall at that ungodly hour.

  Also the bus from g-town to queenscliff was 100% packed so I guess fuel is starting to bite. Lotta well dressed middle aged peeps. Usually there’s only a handful of people if that.

  My Temu return has been dropped off at the post office. They have a very weird return algorithm for their bots to follow. I also had a watch band I was going to return and had arranged to go to a parcelpoint location which is closer, but because I had to go to the post office anyway I cancelled the return so I could re-do it with an Aus Post label instead. But this time it just decided I didn’t need to return it and just refunded the money. I guess the op shops getting a watch band.

  Went to play Doom Eternal last night and whilst Steam thinks I have the whole thing, the game thinks I don’t have the base game. I tried refunding it so I could buy again but Steam won’t let me, so let’s hope a redownload helps
