…but they hide so well
If you execute people for holding views you don’t like you’re no better than a Nazi.
Please quote the part where Karl Popper suggests executing people.
That definitely doesn’t say you should kill people you disagree with.
Perhaps death is too far but name, shame, and ridicule until they stop speaking Nazi rhetoric, until they are afraid to spread their opinions. The world fought a war about this and we all agree the idea of massacring millions for their religious views is a bad thing. I’m looking at you Israel, just because your peoples were victims once doesn’t mean you cant turn around and become the evil you once feared. As a society we must deny tolerance to those who would take advantage of said tolerance and promote intolerance
The world fought a war about this and we all agree the idea of massacring millions for their religious views is a bad thing
That was not what WW2 was fought about at all.
The Jews weren’t killed in the Holocaust for their religious views, but for their ethnicity. An atheist communist with one Jewish parent went to the gas chambers and shooting pits just like the pious Jew in traditional dress.
Perhaps death is too far
So you disagree with the post about murdering people. Good!
Nazi: I want to create an ethnostate and genocide the people I consider inferior.
Anti-nazi: Well then I’ll kill you to prevent you from doing that.
You for some reason: both these positions are equally bad.
Nah, the OP is one step ahead and wants to execute people for holding tattoos.
Really hate to be the shithead here but there were a lot of people without Nazi tattoos who were goaded into voting for Nazis because they got accused of shit preemptively.
Yes I still blame them but yes maybe we should self examine that impulse a little.
“You fucking Nazi!”
“What? I’m not a nazi! And to prove it, I’m voting for the nazis!”
It’s my understanding that the Nazi party was in fact not voted into power. It was a hostile takeover.
Somewhat? It happened with the German people’s large consent, which fascistic governments are effective at gaining.
It was pretty hostile but there was a lot of democratic process and the key thing was the ratcheting up over a good 10 years before they really went for power. They would take small pieces of power and grow their control incrementally until they had too much momentum for any other group to deal with them. Also some groups thought they could use them to their advantage and reign them in when things were sorted. They were getting the highest votes but it was a mixture of a lot of things and they pretty quickly stopped being democratic votes after the first few elections. Lots of propaganda, a large amount of coercion at least initially, some blindness and unforeseen consequences but a decent portion of the population supported the whole thing. At least that’s my understanding.
Minority, but a plurality. And then the fuckery and take over began.
Everyone in the PRC supports the CCP.
It’s because the ruling party is so good that everyone loves them unconditionally, of course.
You’re just horny to kill people.
Kinda like a… fucking Nazi.
George Washington was very proud of all the people he killed, and rightly so. You need to be more patriotic.
I never voted for him
The USAian view again:
Can't be anything other than extreme. Absolutely everything is is black and what, right or wrong. You're absolutely right or you're absolutely wrong. There's no in between. Trying to find a middle ground means you're not agreeing with me --> you're a nazi/communist/liberal/tankie.
USAians man...
I’m not American and what you’re saying doesn’t make sense anyway. The US enables free speech to the point of self-destruction. Trump is in the White House now, not in prison, precisely for that reason.
For not being USAian, your view and reading comprehension is.
Apparently people with Nazi tattoos are progressive these days
Reminds of how some self professed “anarchists” insist on capital punishment, like an unwitting opposame, to, e.g. nazis, not realising/admitting what they’re really engaged in is another form of malarchy, not anarchy. Reminder, malarchism is not anarchism.
Also reminds of www.youtube.com/watch?v=HwpYMYnAsz4
The same way they knew they were ms13 gang members, duh.

Why the death penalty?
Suspected Nazis should be given community service to work in soup kitchens, clean graffiti and pickup trash and such in majority black and brown neighborhoods.

This. Fuck the death penalty. No good government kills its own people.

I watched a documentary about one who worked in a prison laundry and got better but his brother didn’t.

I know you’re making a joke but if some of them get better that’s still a net positive
ICastFist@programming.dev 2 weeks ago
The thing is that you better ensure they don’t work or meet up with other nazis in that meantime, otherwise they might reinforce their stupid aryan bubble
Oppopity@lemmy.ml 2 weeks ago
Send them to reeducation camps.
fluffykittycat@slrpnk.net 2 weeks ago
Because we need to be rid of them once and for all. It’s too risky to let them live
KSPAtlas@sopuli.xyz 2 weeks ago
I have faith that it’s possible to reform at least some of them, even if it’s not everyone
A lot of what gets people into these beliefs is environmental factors and the beliefs of those around them
DoPeopleLookHere@sh.itjust.works 2 weeks ago
Do you think it’s genetic? Like we will still learn about Nazis, and so long as we do there will be people who agree with it.

You need to watch Rise of the Sith

graffiti is a important rebellion tool though i think cleaning the sewers by hand with toothbrushes is more fitting
taiyang@lemmy.world 2 weeks ago
I mean, yes and no. I live where gang tags and random acts of vandalism are rather a frequent occurrence so when I say graffiti removal, I’m thinking that. Things like that only work to harm our neighborhood, defacing our storefronts and public transit and making people feel less safe in their community.
But yes, some forms of graffiti are expression and art. Nazis would take pleasure in removing that we aren’t for that, of course.
