Yeah if they aren’t using the emergency lights then it means there’s no emergency. Pretty sure the first comment was talking about normal road users anyway…

Suwako Moriya and Kanako uh… I forgot the surname. From touhou, they’re goddesses of the Moriya shrine, Suwako was the original owner of the shrine but got defeated by Kanako in a god war thing and kinda still lives there. The frog and snake are their representative animals. Also Suwako canonically has at least one descendant so who knows what’s going on.

Can’t wait for fusion and magnetic hydrogen.

Chlorine trifluoride? The best part of that quote is the end imo. It’s an amazing oxidizer but it’s also hugely impractical to store or work with.

I mean our flag is just a flag, how it’s flown is largely irrelevant.

Yeah it’s a lot easier to eat less calories than it is to burn off that many. 100 calories is like a bag of crisps or so (depends on what) but 100 calories is also about 10 minutes of running which is a lot more work than just eating less. Not that you shouldn’t run but if you’re trying to lose weight it has a much bigger impact to stay at a calorie deficit.

You must have missed the part where they were talking about crater albedo and one of them said 6 7 (0.6-0.7) and the chat went wild. Definitely the most significant part of this whole thing.

What about tidal?
- Comment on Gotta go fast 1 month ago:
Well molten salt batteries are a thing, I’m presuming this is to buffer the output of the solar and that the losses were deemed acceptable given the renewable nature of this.

Iirc one of the theoretical ways of generating power with fusion is magnetohydrodynamic generators which use the magnetic field created by the plasma to generate an electrical current directly. Still theoretical though…

Nuh-uh it’s magnetohydro which means it’s magnet juice not water trust me bro. Iirc it’s charged hydrogen plasma though.

Iirc magnetohydrodynamic or MHD generators were a possible way to not boil water

It was pretty hostile but there was a lot of democratic process and the key thing was the ratcheting up over a good 10 years before they really went for power. They would take small pieces of power and grow their control incrementally until they had too much momentum for any other group to deal with them. Also some groups thought they could use them to their advantage and reign them in when things were sorted. They were getting the highest votes but it was a mixture of a lot of things and they pretty quickly stopped being democratic votes after the first few elections. Lots of propaganda, a large amount of coercion at least initially, some blindness and unforeseen consequences but a decent portion of the population supported the whole thing. At least that’s my understanding.

Yeah hunt is great, love the atmosphere, the tools, the learning curve and the stupid interactions. Hunt loss is pretty minor though, takes maybe a few alright rounds to get the fun perks and then you can just buy whatever gear.
