Also yes, camera bumps are dumb.

Dairy and eggs. Aka animal products that don’t involve flesh.
…unless you’re Catholic in which case you make up bullshit to spread your religion and call beavers and fish vegetarian for…reasons.

The claim I made was only one sentence yet you only read half of it. The foundation has enough money to run Wikipedia for decades. The foundation has maaaaaany other projects that they currently pour money into.

They don’t have to shut it all down but they should absolutely split off all their bloated non-Wikipedia endeavors from the rest of the organization. If they were actually honest to people about where the donations get spent a lot fewer people would donate.

wikimediafoundation.org/…/financial-reports/
If you poke around there you will see a million line items that can be accurately summarized as “not Wikipedia”. The wikimedia foundation is massively bloated because they have an infinite source of funding. I don’t even think all the projects they are doing are bad or anything, it’s just that they aren’t Wikipedia.
It’s highly unethical the way they solicit for donations and heavily imply that the donations are to run Wikipedia. They aren’t. They are spending all that money on other pet projects and pinkertons to do union busting.

There’s no need. They have enough money to run Wikipedia for many many decades.

Yea I will forever miss the era when flying Southwest was a “we all understand the assignment” situation. It’s been a while since then, unfortunately.

I’ve never found a more confidently incorrect bunch than HVAC people. I’ve never understood what it is about that profession specifically that causes people to just turn their brains off. See also: the absolute disdain for heat pumps and the absolute insistence on massively over sizing furnaces everywhere by HVAC technicians.

How upset do you get when your buddy disables auto and proceeds to slam back and forth between full heat and full ac while claiming their shitty dial dj set is somehow waaaaay better than the computer?

Generations of pillaging, murder, theft, slavery, pollution, and political meddling. Also the occasional genocide. Have you ever read a single history book about Africa that wasn’t written by a colonizer?

Yes, artificial sweeteners are literally the most studied food in human history. There are a lot of different chemicals involved so I won’t make any sweeping statements, but all of the most popular ones have been proven over and over to be harmless.
But then things get complicated because the sugar lobby will fund a study where they inject an absolutely insane amount of sweeteners into their blood and it obviously fucks them up. Then they publish a study about how the sweeteners cause all kinds of ailments. But when you actually look into it (nobody does) you realize they injected the equivalent of drinking 100 Liters of soda per day, which obviously nobody does.

Kind of like all the sugar substitute correlation “studies” that keep saying sugar substitutes cause the same diseases that being obese cause. Hmmm, I wonder who typically consumes sugar substitutes…

No, it puts your account in a state where they will happily charge your credit card for tickets, but then refuse to show them to you so you can’t actually get into the show even though they took your money.
Source: this literally happened to me. Did a chargeback. Situation is still unfolding.

You’re directing your anger at the wrong person. You are being manipulated and used as a pawn/useful idiot. Giving any weight or credence at all to the idea that universal healthcare is complicated or exotic is just propaganda, plain and simple.
NYT opinion does this constantly. They will hem and haw about how the topic du jure is acccccccctually really complicated in order to sow doubt and give legitimacy to points that don’t just stand on their own merit. They also constantly try to distract from disastrous economic issues by trying to divide us with identity politics about race and queerness. It’s all the same tactic: some call it the “gish gallop” and some call it “flooding the zone”.
