Yes, I do still browse reddit, mainly for hockey and some niche subs that aren’t here yet. Once in a while I dip my toes into r/all to see the garbage that floats to the top and this one popped up today.

r/conspiracy has always been a shithole, but when I first saw this post I thought it was on a meme sub, but no, those morons actually believe this shit. Truly blows my mind how amazingly stupid a lot of people are.

…for the creatures that have no bones and only a beak that could even fossilize? Color me SHOCKED their ancestors didn’t leave fossils.

    Yup. It’s not that soft tissue DOESN’T fossilize, it’s just that the conditions to do so are much rather, and soft tissue is obviously much more susceptible to degradation before fossilization.

The fact that there are very few fossils of soft bodied creatures kinda misses the point.

All the evolutionary diversity of molluscs is still alive. Squids, nautiluses, cuttlefish, snails slugs.

What’s the hypothesis here? An alien meteorite landed with 800 types of cephalopod, that just by chance share 97% of their DNA with slugs and snails that already existed on Earth?

  People forget. Back in the day it was talk about Libor and NSA abusing FISA and UFO coverups, much of which was actual conspiracy not theory. It wasn’t clearly aligned politically, just suspicious of power. The trumplings didn’t show up for quite a few years and quickly shit all over the floor.

    If you think the conspiracies weren’t politically motivated, you didn’t dig into who was “controlling the Libor/NSA” deep enough. Especially with anything money based, it always came back to the Jews. Like, for decades of looking into this shit, it’s always been at the back of these conspiracy theories. Also, they had to hide their power level so much more up until, so it was easier for the naive to not see what they were really doing.
