Gonna preface this by saying I’m obviously a huge Expanse fan so my opinion is definitely biased. My username is a character from The Expanse and I consider it both my favorite TV show and book series ever. Wanted to make that clear up front.
That being said, if the game is good and they eventually replace the slop assets with proper assets, then what does it matter? As much as I like Lemmy, the hardline stances the community tends to take pisses me off at times. “Oh you’re not a full blown communist and haven’t read Marx? You’re no better than a nazi you filthy shitlib”
Or regarding “AI” (hate that they called it that, it’s basically just a smarter auto correct thats existed in smartphone keyboards for years now) anyone that doesn’t automatically and passionately hate AI or any of its uses is automatically demonized as a supporter of big tech. Don’t get me wrong, I fucking hate 90% of what “AI” does and is used for, especially how corpos are using it as an excuse to lay off real people and how dumbasses are relying on it as pure truth when it constantly hallucinates bullshit. I don’t support “AI” and I can’t wait for the bubble to burst.
There’s almost zero nuance here, it’s 90% “you’re with us or you’re against us” with no room for anything in between.
If the game is good and they replace the slop assets with real assets when it’s released next year then who fucking cares that they used AI, what matters is whether the game is good or not and whether the devs are treated and paid well. Expedition 33 used AI in earlier iterations and it all got replaced with real assets eventually but that didn’t stop Lemmy from shitting on one of the best games to come out within the last decade once that became public.
You wanna make this place a more mainstream alternative to big tech controlling everything? Get off your high horse and accept that there’s nuance to everything, it’s not just black and white. Otherwise this place will continue to scare off new users faster than it can gain them. I consider myself to be a progressive, I’m Canadian and I’ve only voted NDP since I was able to vote and I’m now 32. I also really respect AOC, Mamdani, and Sanders in the states, so I’m already close enough to the target demographic of Lemmy if you exclude the tankie trifecta (ml, hexbear, and grad) and even I get sick of the circlejerk here at times.
Judge something when you can actually have a proper opportunity to do so rather than getting preemptively pissed off because they had the audacity to use something you don’t like.
If the game comes out and still has slop in it and/or just sucks in general, then yeah, shit on it all you want, and I’ll be first in line to join the club cause I absolutely love The Expanse and I’ll be immensely disappointed if it turns out bad.
Again, in the interest of honesty and transparency, I usually prefer to just throw my opinions out there and not read or respond to replies when it’s something that I know is gonna be controversial so I won’t be replying to anyone that replies to this comment. I really hate arguing with random people on the internet so I just ignore replies for the most part.

The off sales near my house recently added this, why tf would I tip when you’re grabbing a 6 pack that’s 2 steps away from the window? Gtfo with that shit. Tipping is for quality service in a sit down restaurant or for a delivery driver bringing me something cause I’m too lazy or drunk to do it myself.
Even then, tipping should be abolished and business owners should simply pay a proper fuckin wage instead of using customers to subsidize their profits.

I knew a comment like this was coming. It’s a fair point tbh and I agree with it.
That being said, this is a comm for people to ask legit questions and there are better places if you want to meme. Keep it to the proper comms instead of spreading more cancerous murican politics as far and wide as possible. This would be better off in one of the many shitposting or meme comms rather than a comm dedicated to people looking for real answers.
Yes I don’t have an answer either, but that doesn’t change the fact that this entire thread is comprised of unfunny people making obvious and unfunny jokes.

Any actual answers? This whole thread embodies one of the main things I hate about reddit. Everyone thinks they’re a comedian when none of the “jokes” are even remotely funny.

There’s still hope for the Habs to end the drought they originally set. If the Oilers can’t do it then hopefully they can! God tier rebuild, everything seems to have panned out extremely well in my (heavily biased) opinion.

I’m a Habs fan first but the Oilers are my 2nd team and I fucking hate that the shithole that is florida, where the average person is probably dumber than a 5th grader, gets 4 fucking cups this fast while Canada continues it’s drought since 1993.
At least I can always laugh at the leafs being an eternal embarrassment, so at least I got that going for me.

Final fantasy 13. Rented it as a kid for the 360 for a week and loved it. Didn’t get to finish it, but as soon as it released for PC shortly after I built my first PC I played it and loved it. I now have over 300 hours in the game on steam and have beaten it 4 times. One of my favourite FF games despite how much the fanbase shits on the game.
I also don’t care for the 2nd game in the trilogy despite that being the fanbase’s “preferred” game of the trilogy. Did not like the “monster as a 3rd party member” thing at all. Lightning returns is also amazing and I’ve put a couple hundred hours into that game and beaten it 3 times as well.
Love the FF 13 games even if they get shit on a lot by FF fans. 13 will always be one of my favourite games.

I get your point but the speed of the CPU means nothing without mentioning the specific model. My old i7-4790k came stock at 4.4GHz and would massively struggle to run modern games, but if I underclocked my current 7600x to 3.2GHz it would easily handle the latest games at 60 FPS.

I keep listening to Lumière over and over, it’s such a good song as is the rest of the soundtrack! I was just telling my brother the last night that I like that it’s a French game, its exposed me to a culture I don’t usually get to appreciate. The French inspiration throughout the game is a nice change from the usual English/Japanese inspired RPGs IMO, I especially like how Esquie refers to Francois as franfran with a French accent! (Although everything about Esquie is awesome tbh).
The French swear words are a nice touch as well, although I have to ask, is tabarnak not a thing in France? If not, what’s the equivalent in France? I only know that word because I’m a Habs fan and a lot of them frequently use that word in reddit game day threads when they’re playing like shit haha. I’ve heard Quebecois French and France French (wording? sorry) is a fair bit different, but I don’t speak the language so I only have an outsiders level of knowledge at best.
Ha that makes them a bit more palatable but they’re still really annoying just like a lot of those old FF minigames were. Thank god for save states!
