To be fair, if I swipe kalifa on my keyboard it autocorrects to Khalifa every time. There is no kalifa option other than the one Iâve just forced. If this person want paying attention to the âhâ it couldâve been accidental.

Tbf, you you donlt have to be a rainman of early 2010s porn to recognise poor transliteration arabic to english, but it helps.

They might be aware of the Burge Khalifa building
Obi@sopuli.xyz â¨2⊠â¨weeks⊠ago
No, Iâve never heard of the Burj Khalifa.

Bravo both

Or the rapper Wiz Khalifa for that matter. The song played at the end of fast 7 when they sent Paul Walker away (See you again) has billions of views on YouTube. In fact itâs up to 7 billion now.

I had read previously (and just confirmed on Wikipedia) that Mia Khalifa (real name Sarah Joe Chamoun) got her stage name from her dog, Mia, and Wiz Khalifa.
So, familiarity with Wiz Khalifa is directly relevant to knowing how Mia Khalifaâs name is spelled.
Rubanski@discuss.tchncs.de â¨2⊠â¨weeks⊠ago
Burgir

They couldâve searched âMia Kalifaâ and found out the correct spelling. So itâs not necessarily begging for attention.
kbobabob@lemmy.dbzer0.com â¨3⊠â¨weeks⊠ago
Then why would they ask who it is?
Carnelian@lemmy.world â¨3⊠â¨weeks⊠ago
Gil already thought about this is and is just commenting for attention
gilgameth@lemmy.world â¨2⊠â¨weeks⊠ago
Goddammit, theyâre begging for attention!

Most awesome thing Iâve seen today
theuniqueone@lemmy.dbzer0.com â¨3⊠â¨weeks⊠ago
Or autocorrect or they read it and wrote it how it sounded to them without looking closely at spelling or many other possible reasons.
craftrabbit@lemmy.zip â¨2⊠â¨weeks⊠ago
Ok but⌠who is Mia khalifa?
(I looked it up, I think itâs former controversial porn actress, current internet personality)

your
I love when smug dickheads make 2nd grade grammar errors.
leg@leminal.space â¨2⊠â¨weeks⊠ago
Iâm a smug dickhead, but usually when I make that mistake, itâs because swype doesnât know which âyourâ I meant, and I fail to catch the mis-swype. Same with âtoo/toâ. And, weirdly, âme/Mrâ. Itâs actually a pretty common occurrence, and itâs a huge pain point.
lengau@midwest.social â¨2⊠â¨weeks⊠ago
Idk I just typed âkalifaâ and had to fix autocorrect changing it to Khalifa. Or dude could be familiar with Arabic transliteration and the name but not the person.
Doesnât matter to me though. Iâm distracted now that Iâm thinking about Mia Khalifa.
tomi000@lemmy.world â¨3⊠â¨weeks⊠ago
Uff thats merciless
fartsparkles@lemmy.world â¨3⊠â¨weeks⊠ago
Or their phone keyboard offered an autocorrection⌠Google have been doing that for years now.
FinjaminPoach@lemmy.world â¨3⊠â¨weeks⊠ago
So what youâre saying is google knows how to spell Mia Khalifaâs name. Does this mean they want my attention?
QuinnyCoded@sh.itjust.works â¨3⊠â¨weeks⊠ago
autocorrect capitalizes names, the name in the post isnât capitalized.
fartsparkles@lemmy.world â¨2⊠â¨weeks⊠ago
The could have auto capitalization turned off
