How far is it from the dadzone to the daddyzone?
cornshark@lemmy.world 2 months ago
About 6 inches
OmegaMouse@pawb.social 2 months ago
So when are you meeting him? :3

Honestly, I have a weird feeling that this might be genuine. No need to sleep with the dude if OP doesn’t feel it, but it could be a cool opportunity to be a mentor and a friend to a younger queer dude if they get along.
Either way, meet in public and inform a friend.

My entire friend group all found each other essentially through dating apps. It’s a way to form connections outside of sex for sure, it’s just not talked about much.
OmegaMouse@pawb.social 2 months ago
Yeah I thought so too. He seems sweet and I’d meet up just out of interest. Could be a nice friend going forward
CultLeader4Hire@lemmy.world 2 months ago
This person 1000% wants to fuck you

I dunno… I never got into the apps, so I may not be the best judge, but this kinda seems like a lot at once for someone who’s an introvert that was bullied and has anxiety issues.
I would definitely ask more probing questions before agreeing to meet anywhere, and definitely in public, and I would definitely inform a friend.
On the other hand, if it’s genuine, this could be really sweet and nice opportunity to mentor our a young fledgling queer.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

When someone says they’re interested in meeting to see if a friendship forms, a tactic I used to use was to see if they are okay with one or both of us each bringing a friend along.
Their reaction will reveal a lot about their intentions. It’s also a good way to ensure safety.
homes@piefed.world 2 months ago
ooo, that seems like a good idea, especially since they say that they’re only interested in friendship anyway.

The emoji concern me.

Either this took a lot of courage to write, or it’s their strategy for finding “daddies”. If sincere, I’d suggest looking into the possibility of creating a real friendship with someone in need. @homes gave some solid advice. I’d go with that.
dontgogettingtooclever@piefed.social 2 months ago
Yup. If they’re willing to go dutch, then it might be genuine
magnetosphere@fedia.io 2 months ago
Now that you mention it, that seems like a very simple yet reliable test

I don’t know why anyone would use any of these apps.
I would basically assume that 99% of all messages were scams of some kind.

Go make a new friend.
They may just be looking for someone to hang out with, and if they’re looking for romance, you can become the matchmaker.
I have a feeling that they’re probably too insecure to know where to start.
NGL, it’s great that they’re mustering up the courage to ask for help.
It can’t be easy in the current climate.

I’m so happy I got married before romance was “disrupted” by tech bros.

Leave it to dudes to power through the bots for a bone. Envious.
Meanwhile over on Hinge, Bumble, etc., nothing but spam. (I gave these things up a while ago. Just going to rawdog my love life from here on out.)
Dojan@pawb.social 2 months ago
They exist, but most of the scams you get on Grindr in my experience are like “WANT SEX?! Check out my profile on BugDickDudesSite dot C🫦U🫦M No credit card required!!”
Kolanaki@pawb.social 2 months ago
I use Grindr to get laid. It works 100% of the time. 🤷♂️

I don’t think this person was laughing out loud as often as they claimed.
SCmSTR@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 months ago
Did you respond to him?
Reygle@lemmy.world 2 months ago
If genuine, that’s incredibly relatable. A little TOO relatable.
hayvan@piefed.world 2 months ago
This me, but straight.

“you look super youthful"
Wasn’t going to be my next pickup line, but here we are…

Maybe they mean that you look like you have cool, youthful interests and values.
tomiant@piefed.social 2 months ago
Me too IRL, but on the Roblox forums I am eternally 11 like all my friends
TachyonTele@piefed.social 2 months ago
Come here often?
BeMoreCareful@lemmy.world 2 months ago
It do be like that
magnetosphere@fedia.io 2 months ago
Sorry to nitpick, but it’s “seem”, not “look”. That makes a big difference.
TachyonTele@piefed.social 2 months ago
Good catch. It’s creepy either way lol
