- Comment on If dogs have such a great nose, why do they sniff other dogs asses? Wouldn't it smell like shit or not a good smell? 4 days ago:
I’ve had dozens of dogs in my life, I spent a decade being a dog foster mom, I’ve never had one who eats poop, I know some do but I think it’s a weird stereotype that “dogs” like all or even most do

It’s just plain old black and white thinking, if you don’t love your job it must be horrible and you hate it and it’s soul draining, as if these are the only two options. There’s a million options between those two points where you can be happy and take care of your responsibilities even if your job isn’t your perfect job chasing your great passion. Personally I think having a job that defines you or is your purpose is pretty off putting

Yep! It’s one of the surgeries that seem to just work. I had mine done at 14 and it’s been fantastic. I don’t think I’ve heard anyone ever say it wasn’t worth it. I love when medicine just works
I’ve had over a dozen sinus surgeries cause I have cystic fibrosis and I’m pediatric size so all the passages needed to be widened but the deviated septum was a HUGE improvement the only other one that came close was when they opened the back passage connecting my nose to my mouth

“Sounds nice” is such a weird thing to say when someone says they’re disabled
- Comment on I subsist on caffeine alone 2 weeks ago:
Maybe, that’s one possibility. I was like this because I never entered deep wave sleep because of PTSD, normal stress can do that too, not all sleep is equal it doesn’t require you to be doing anything wrong to get bad sleep

Because they know they’re going to lose and want to say “I could have made things affordable but you guys elected a democrat” when the issue isn’t immediately solved - this will probably happen at every level of government

- Comment on Is it just the norm now-a-days for grocery stores to have lots of stuff on the shelves that's past the best-by date? 3 weeks ago:
I shop almost exclusively at Costco or a local co-op because all the stuff on the regular grocery store (always some version of Kroger) shelves is usually right at its sell date or very close, this is new in my area, things that used to have 6 - 8 months of shelf stable pantry goods have a month left when I see them in the store, which defeats the purpose of me keeping a deep pantry. So I do less bargain shopping and just do big Costco runs when I can and get fresh stuff at the co-op in between
- Comment on Chef 3 weeks ago:
At least bread you can eyeball once you get enough practice at a specific recipe, a lot of it is about the moisture content which changes in the air from day to day so it’s never precise anyway
- Comment on This Avocado Oil that claims to be “0 Calories” 🙄 3 weeks ago:
I own this stuff, I buy it at Costco, I don’t even think I could spray it for 1/4th a second it’s not got a very precise nozzle. There’s also a huge difference, literally magnitudes, between 1/4th of a serving and a few seconds over a pan. I use cooking spray pretty regularly and have a few applications like my ornate Nordic wear pans where a bottle of oil would not work well and it would be nice to know what I’m adding to my food but I chalk it up to the caloric cost of cooking

- Comment on How do people easily find out that I'm an easy to pick up on? 3 weeks ago:
Even just a “hey what the hell???” And a confused offended look is enough for the vast majority of people. Bullies tend to pick on people who are kind, genuine and give others the benefit of the doubt, you never have to stop being kind or genuine but ABSOLUTELY stop giving people the benefit of the doubt who don’t have a history with you to prove they deserve it
