Well it’s still awkward and a bit fraught. Stupid needle caps coming off way more easily than the part you need to remove.
But I’ve given subcutaneous fluids a couple of times now, unassisted. Definitely need to get a sharps container with a removal port as that will be much easier and safer.

It’s more needing the notch that helps pull the old needle off the tube so I can change it.
It really gets stuck on there and trying to just pull it off tends to dislodge the cap instead

yes, I have the beginnings of arthritis in my hands
doc thinks it’s wear and tear but I’m getting for rheumatoid just in case, also some basic metabolic tests to see what anti-inflammatory would be best
but I caught it very early and am getting treatment 👍

today’s art project has commenced 🙂
I’ve been thinking of it for quite a while already
my phone is charging
then I’ll choose and upload a beach picture to my printer and print out a grey scale copy
then outline in very dark pencil all the shapes and shadows, then trace the outlines on water colour paper, at least four copies
I will then water colour each paper in a different way. Most will be in grey shades and the objects of interest will be colour
each picture will be different
this is to show how when I go to the beach I look at different things, look for different things and my perspective changes

Whoa… Meat prices are off the hook. I haven’t eaten meat in so long I only look at it when making broth for the cat. I don’t have the energy right now to get to a butcher but really should.

How the hell is a pack of hot dogs $10? A 500g tube of Coles brand sausage mince is the same as bougie premade rissoles. A blade roast that cost $5-10 when I was a teenager is now $25? And so is chuck steak. Premium prices for ribs. Considered beef hearts but they are quite lean and also I’m not sure about brothing organ meats for someone with bad kidneys. Unfortunately she’s allergic to chicken (which is the cheapest meat and offers things well suited like wings and necks). I was going to go for soup bones but she greatly prefers the meat broth.
I’ve chosen some $10 lamb shanks because they would stew well. Perhaps I’ll broth one and freeze the other for the next batch.

The only meat I’m buying these days is soup bones for the dog. $2-3 for about 8 pieces. Mostly vertebrae. Europe markets in Nobel Park. He gets one or two on Fridays. There’s probably meat in his kibble.

Just had a single giant gust of wind pass through on what is otherwise a very still day. It ripped the lid off a storage box I have outside and sent my fly trap flying. The trap broke open, freeing flies, larvae and the most awful stench imaginable. Mr Woof thought it was great and tried to roll in it. I am much less pleased with it, and its right next to the clothes line and I now don’t want to hang up my washing.

new xbox controller is coming today, hope to finish setting up phone
looking at some book keeping courses
have a doc visit for my arthritis ( the first of many visits for many niggling probs, nothing serious )
have to do a little vacuuming, mundane but has to be done
it’s friday so I have time to plan days , study in morning, then house, then art, then cooking/dinner , self care, hobbies on weekends
it’s all coming together 🙂

I want to use Google Maps less but because it tracks everyone it can suggest different routes home due to traffic. I just had the most arse drive back from a field day because I used OpenStreetMaps instead. I knew going onto the ring road and off again would suck, but i didn’t know where to turn off to avoid it like driving there

My snow pea trellis was a casuallty of the strong winds a couple of days ago so I’m afraid my snow pea supply has ended for now. But we will rebuild!
A couple of pumpkin fruit are starting to grow, a zucchini is nearly to size and there are a lot of little green tomatoes I just need to ripen. I have some onions getting quite large and should have some potatoes soon too.

I haven’t cooked today, that’s something that is exhausting on a good day and almost never happens now.
But I had a small reserve from last time. I let the container of frozen beef broth/puree slowly thaw in the fridge. Then scooped out a semi-frozen spoonful to mix with boiled water to make a more hydrating and comfortably warm serving. The gradual thaw helps the food stay fresh while it gets used up.

Tonight my husband and I will be celebrating his promotion and pay rise. At first he thought management were talking about his section but they were talking about the lot. He will be boss of the entire floor. Warehouse and production. Some big name clients there such as AEC and Toyota.
There’s gonna be a lot of happy workers and a few unhappy ones. Let the fireworks begin.
