I have a wedding to attend in a couple of weeks, and the dress code is cocktail attire. I do not own any item of clothing that would fit the definition of âcocktailâ. So hopefully savers has a dress that meets that definition, I mean the dress racks there are usually chock full so I ought to find something.
Thank you Briongloid for posting todayâs DT, and providing links to remain savvy!
Donât underestimate how good women in cocktail suits look either. If you wanted to wear pants that is.
Itâs hard to deal with the fact that while volunteers are out helping others their own homes are or maybe destroyed. Fuck.
It breaks my heart
Thanks everyone for the kind words â€ïž
I saw my stray today, eating the food I put out.
â€ïž
The gang was all back today as well. I was worried they were going to be afraid of me because they saw me catch the little cat.
â€ïž
I found one of the strays with a broken leg and eventually wrangled him? into the cat carrier and weâre at the animal hospital near my place.
I had 2 options. Take ownership or surrender. So I took ownership. I couldnât abide letting them end up at the lost dogs home.
So congrats Gibson. You will eventually have a friend. (hopefully theyâre friends).
Reading that was an emotional roller coaster. You are a good human. Itâs a sad outcome but the kindest. Hugs. Take care of yourself today.
I havenât seen my stray for a week or so. I keep putting the food out and refreshing the water. Something is eating it. I donât think Iâll buy anymore food if I donât see the cat again.
I hope itâs okay, so many emotions going on with all of that happening so quickly
Congrats and bloody well done. Thanks for taking care of him! CDS strikes again, fingers crossed him and Gibson are fine. What will you name him?
Good job cat dad!
If heâs a boy and much younger, then it may well work out. The real problems are when you introduce two female cats to each other. Especially if they are the same or similar ages. Guaranteed cat fights in that scenario. Has Gibson been spayed?
Oh man Iâm so sorry đ You did the right thing đđŒ
Holy fuck, thanks for helping him dude.
Iâve seen options for cats that need assistance (you manually squeeze the urine out for them by pressing their bladder) but itâs an around the clock thing and youâd have to think about his quality of life.
Either way heâs so lucky youâre looking out for him.
oh no
I hope it all turns out ok
Oh dear. Best wishes to all.
Ooh thatâs exciting.
I guess youâll have to think of a name (if you havenât already).
It would probably be cooler at the office but Iâm gonna stay home anyway because it would involve leaving the house. Work has the worst carpark to leave your car in all day as well
That was a hell of a sunset. Gorgeous but always so sad.
why sad?
Back from the dog walk, joined him in the barefoot aspect in case the ground was too hot. Itâs fine.
stay cool everyone
Sold some old magic cards. Guy took everything I had. Money for a new gpu sorted, old gpu can go to my friends kid who I uncle because his dad seems as shit as mine.
I canât get my head around shit parents. It boils my blood.
Some people donât realise they hate children until they have their own.
It never ends well for the kid.
I figured I have lived thru so many food fads ( husbandâs family are pretty insane in this regard adopting every fad without question ) , that I am so now over and have very little patience for it all.
I have an especial lack of patience for people thinking âethnicâ foods are by default better or that anything from a health food shop is healthier.
Melbcat has had a very thorough checkup and they say the crying is behavioural due to getting older, itâs not likely to be pain. Which is a relief. Options will be explored to keep her more comfortable physically and mentally.
I find out about the other stuff when they call back
New neighbours are moving in today. Terrible day for it, trying to move everything in this heat.
AC on, fridge full of water and freezer full of ice cubes.
Hoping no catastrophes.
Cousins live in Sunbury and their property backs onto the forest there. Theyâre prepped and packed just in case. We have offered our house and yard as sanctuary for their dogs (cousins can stay with relatives very close to us).
Well thatâs wild.
Look at 4am -ish
Rain!
The wind is dreadful out there and the smoke haze is starting to build up as well, giving a horrible ominous feeling to the day. Going to work tonight is the absolute last thing I want to do đ
My doona came out dripping from the washing machine, too heavy to do a spin cycle property, bone dry in 30 minutes. Itâs crazy out there.
Annnnd power is out haha weow
The winds are so strong here that it just put the heavy awning up on its own đł
When the veg. box listed âpiece of pumpkinâ I expected a cut piece, maybe half. Apparently it actually meant two whole butternuts. I think my pumpkin needs are well and truly covered.
I am going to have to be very vigilant for my deliveries today - both meat and veg coming today, Iâm not wanting them left on the doorstep long!
Thereâs only so many times I can refresh the BOM app just for the temp to stay the same :(
Sky a bit yellow from the smoke. Hope the rain comes quickly.
I started watching series 2 of A Man on the inside. It stars Ted Danson as a retired engineer lecturer turned P.I. assistant. So if youâre looking for a easy on the brain, funny and wholesome show give it a go. So good.
5/5 hobbits.
Weather on the turn. Stabbing sinus pain from pressure changes. Iâll cope, stay not on fire.
5 th day with no meds for my back
Iâm feeling it a little, just tired mainly

Unfortunately the cat didnât make it. The damage was too severe. The vet at the hospital said it was more humane to let go.
I did the best I could.
MeanElevator@aussie.zone âš3â© âšweeksâ© ago
Mate you did the right thing. It hurts but itâs for the best. Good on you for taking care of the poor creature.
PeelerSheila@aussie.zone âš3â© âšweeksâ© ago
Thankyou for helping as best you could. Itâs all you could do đ«đđŒ
Seagoon_@aussie.zone âš3â© âšweeksâ© ago
best cat dad đą
Thornburywitch@aussie.zone âš3â© âšweeksâ© ago
Horrible decision, but I think you did the right thing. Think of how the poor kitten must have felt - a serious injury AND getting used to living in a human world AND being separated from mum and the other kittens. Would have been so stressed out. It hurts I know, but with animals, I reckon quality of life is the deciding factor.
Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone âš3â© âšweeksâ© ago
Agreed. The vet was almost sure that they wouldnât have been able to survive even with the best care.
Im definitely upset, but I did the best I could in this instance and in general. They havenât gone hungry for almost 18 months. Iâve had to accept there are limits to what I can do apart from making sure theyâre fed and have access to clean water.
All the rescues are full and have been full this whole time.
It still fucking sucks.
tombruzzo@aussie.zone âš3â© âšweeksâ© ago
Iâm so sorry to hear that. A terrible end to a fucked up week. Youâve done such a great job looking after those strays.
Bottom_racer@aussie.zone âš3â© âšweeksâ© ago
Sorry to hear that :(
Catfish@aussie.zone âš3â© âšweeksâ© ago
Iâm so sorry. Extra hugs for Gibson.

Iâm sorry to hear that. đ«

So sorry to hear that đ You did the right thing

You did the best thing you could for the poor cat, itâs lucky it had you looking out for it and didnât continue to suffer.
SpinMeAround@aussie.zone âš3â© âšweeksâ© ago
Oh dude thatâs rough. Iâm glad he didnât suffer more than he needed.
Eagle@aussie.zone âš3â© âšweeksâ© ago
Oh Iâm so sorry. You have a heart of gold. thankyou for trying.
Seagoon_@aussie.zone âš3â© âšweeksâ© ago
oh no, thatâs sad
bye little buddy đą we all loved you
melbaboutown@aussie.zone âš3â© âšweeksâ© ago
Iâm so sorry. You did the best you could for them and ensured they didnât suffer. They were very lucky you got them to the vet and chose what was best for them.
Taleya@aussie.zone âš3â© âšweeksâ© ago
oh hon, Iâm so sorry.
