    Call centre job app update: their clanker AI kept getting pinged as spam by my pixel and they didn’t tell me what number they were calling from lol, so they just sent me a request to book a phone interview with a real person.

    Should get a call in an hour or so.

    This is how we show those wirebacks and Altman tech cunts that we don’t want AI like this lol

    Made fried rice and added too much soy sauce. Added an extra egg, some rice wine vinegar and some mango and I think those things saved it! Yay!

      Sadly no winding down for me, I get to just keep working as normal (but better paid, yay penalty rates!) The weather is planning to cool down a bit again though which is a bit of a bonus and hopefully it means work won’t be too busy. If people can just keep their bbqs and spit roasts under control and not run into things in their cars it should be a fairly relaxed day (and it’s casual dress so I get to wear my Christmas t-shirt and antlers).

    Crochet is not amusing anymore… current thing been sitting somewhere for ages, and was started with the unraveled yarn from another project I got bored with. Guess I burned out on crafting over lockie dees. Maybe I should rip it and start again with doubled strands and a bigger hook, to work up faster and destash more quickly.

    Question is do animal shelters actually accept handmade blankets? And more to the point will I even finish one…

    My body is so tired but my brain won’t rest.

      You could make beanies for the upcoming winter. Beanies are cool because you can practice different stitches and designs with them. They work up fast and can eliminate that boring “every line is the same” feeling so many patterns out there.

      When it gets cooler you could drop them off at your local charity.

    Neighbour is continuing his tradition of being a fuckwit on hot days.

    Earlier this year, when we had the 4 day heatwave (January perhaps), he decided to dig up and replant his lawn.

    Today he’s wearing overalls and sanding paint on his car. Outside. In full sun.

    I have to venture into the blazing sun for an appointment which I am not happy about, but it will be my first time in the Metro Tunnel so that makes up for it. They don’t really make it seamless during this trial period, the usual train and Metro Tunnel train do not overlap at all. 15 mins wait at West Footscray to change over.

    So we are up to the last piece of the puzzle and it is nowhere to be found. But we did suspiciously find a piece of cardboard that is half shaped like the puzzle piece.

    My aunt’s dog is the suspect. We were ignoring her whilst we were doing the puzzle and I must have dropped the piece on the floor. She might have chewed it because she was bored. I wonder if we can email the puzzle company and they’ll send us another piece! That might involve cutting a whole puzzle though.

    Talking about roasts and such.

    I make roast chicken sometimes, and I glaze it with a honey, sesame, soy marinade, have it with home made gravy made from the pan , serve with rice and roast vegies

    for years every single time MIL would say, “when I made roast chicken” “or " my oven doesn’t work and I can’t cook chicken anymore”

    when she wasn’t there I asked husband about it cos i can’t remember her ever cooking anything

    He said never in his life did she roast a chook, not once.

    I haven’t done one for her for ages because the correct answer is, "thank you, that was nice ". Not insults and not complaints.

    I haven’t been notified of any substitutions in my grocery order so I think I am going to get my turkey this time. Christmas is saved! Or at least my plans to have a roast turkey some time after Christmas and cut up most of it to go in the freezer for future lunches is saved. Apparently I’m the only one in my family that likes turkey so I only get it if I do it myself.

    Melbcat didn’t go out today because she would have become a roast chicken or a baked loaf. I just napped. Having so much physical fatigue lately it’s not funny.
