      The weird part about them staying over is that their partner isn’t also home, since they have to text them this information. That makes me think the idea is they’re living together. Also in either case it implies that OP is taking care of the kid, since I don’t think you should just leave a nine yr old home alone.

  If you’re dating for a year and a half and you don’t know if it’s serious, it ain’t.

  However, if your partner’s kid is going giving you a mom/dad day anything, the kid at least is taking it seriously, so you damn well better figure it out fast
