they’re very yummy in teas! I’m actually currently sipping a “s’mores” flavored tea that uses roasted dandelion root, I find it quite nice.

The weird part about them staying over is that their partner isn’t also home, since they have to text them this information. That makes me think the idea is they’re living together. Also in either case it implies that OP is taking care of the kid, since I don’t think you should just leave a nine yr old home alone.
- Comment on a flower for mother's day 1 day ago:
OP is already living with their partner and making the kid breakfast? and they’re worrying about their relationship getting too serious?

I don’t really think we need to manufacture any more. The way I see it, there’s already a natural surplus of bottoms.
- Comment on Hey Randy, I'm not sure if saying that a "real fan" will figure out how to pay $80 for Borderlands 4 is a good look 1 week ago:
Honestly, I found the weapons and builds that I played pretty fun. To me, the plot and general writing is so bad I think it ruins an otherwise great game. BL3 might be the only game that I recommend muting everything and turning off subtitles to enjoy it more, just such obnoxious writing.

Tbh, even if you have a gun, your odds are not 100%. You’re firing at essentially a biological tank, small caliber fire might cause pain and eventually kill a polar bear with non-vital shots, but it’s not going to stop one barreling down on you.
Realistically, you need to be a decent enough marksmen to aim for a vital point, all while making your will saves because a giant monster is charging you. I’m pretty sure most humans are still fucked.

Yeah I know about the centipedes, I’ve had roommates that used some in the past.
The big issue is that I have really bad arachnophobia, so the bug I care the most about getting rid of is spiders. just seeing one causes me to freeze and start panicking. The spiders here are harmless, but try telling that to my dumb brain. It’s not even like I see them that frequently, but seeing just one ruins my week because I get paranoid that there are more I’m not seeing.

Serious question: as someone who really, really hates bugs, are there any lizards I can just let roam my apartment? I feel like it’d be really chill to have a big scaly friend who could snack on the occasional spider or fly in my apt between meals.
- Comment on HBO Boss Insists 'Harry Potter' Show Will Not Contain J.K. Rowling's Anti-Trans Views 3 weeks ago:
Oh yeah I’m sure, because media companies were so great at catching her insane Jewish caricatures. Watch the main villain’s evil scheme include using polyjuice potions to change their gender, but since they aren’t called out as explicitly trans it’s fine.
- Comment on Is it true that femboys are "fetishized" by right-wingers or something like that? Or is my friend(who told me this) tripping balls? 3 weeks ago:
Just an effeminate man. I don’t know if sexuality has much to do with it, but I’d say the majority of femboys are gay/bi with a minority being strictly heterosexual. To be real blunt, imagine the exact inverse of a tomboy, and you’re probably pretty close to a femboy. I like some p girly things, I like to wear skirts and dresses, but I also have a masculine side to me.

- Comment on Is it true that femboys are "fetishized" by right-wingers or something like that? Or is my friend(who told me this) tripping balls? 3 weeks ago:
I don’t think it’s widespread or mainstream, but speaking as a femboy, we are fetishized a lot in general. Even normal people often just assume I’m hyperhorny, like the only reason I’m femmodeing is because I want cock. The creepy part about the right-wingers is they see us as “failed males” and specifically get off on the idea of asserting their dominance over us. There’s also a lot of dehumanizing and degradation that I see those types engaging in, beyond the typical “slut” that normal people do. They want to sexually abuse and violate femboys to feel better about their own fragile masculinity.
I’m very glad I live in a solid blue state and can go out safely, I think if I lived in a right-wing state I wouldn’t feel safe going femmode outside.

It’s the callers. There are a lot of people who are genuinely terrible and seem to feel like it’s okay to treat anyone they think is beneath them as terrible, to say nothing of the insane sexism/racism that people like to spew.

So there’s this state in the United States called Ohio, and it’s generally one of the worst places to be. If you’re “in Ohio” or “feeling Ohio,” you’re feelin bad.
- Comment on Are we all suffering from "future shock" in 2025? 4 weeks ago:
Just spitballing, but you could track it by number of hate crimes? There’s the issue that the United States notoriously underreports hate crimes, so you might not be able to find accurate numbers, but I think that’s the best hard statistic you could find for racism
- Comment on How would you run a society? 4 weeks ago:
and if the Aliens like it,
I think this is the part I would become obsessed with; trying to figure out what the Aliens actually want. I’m confident that at our current technological level, we could automate a society that supports a million people. I’d start with accomplishing that, and then spend the rest of the time trying to develop a perfect piece of performance art including all million members to try and please the Aliens.
- Comment on Is The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion still fun for a first-time player in 2025? 4 weeks ago:
Tbh, I actually think this ends up being a win for Skyblivion. I think a lot of first-time Oblivion tryers were hoping for more dramatic changes, as opposed to basically unchanged Oblivion with a weird facelift running on top.

People like to make fun of this idea that “the right can’t meme,” but I’d agree with you and argue they’re actually really fucking good at it.
I think it’s a real shame that progressives basically ceded the tools of shock and profanity to people on the far right. Maybe it’s because I was a huge fan of the Colbert Report growing up, but I feel like satire is a great way to deconstruct far right positions by showing their logical conclusions. The problem is that you can’t really satirize a racist anymore; you’ll get called a racist yourself and be canceled.

The real psyop was the conservative takeover of online spaces. I remember the old net. Even unmoderated shitholes like 4chan were significantly more leftist. Deviant communities like furries and especially the bronies were absolutely on 4chan back in the day. Sure, there were lots of generally rude assholes, but most of them were apolitical or tankies.
