- Comment on We can't keep making videogame stories for players who aren't paying attention to them 2 weeks ago:
I mean, good creators don’t? There are still AA and indie devs pouring their heart into stories they want to tell?
This article is basically just bemoaning that AAA develops for the lowest common denominator, which I can understand as a gripe, but it’s a very old gripe. If you start really digging into AAA, you’ll get other similar ones like “Why are these gameplay loops made for people who don’t like gameplay” or “How come perfectly serviceable story focused games get mandatory crafting systems added onto them.” When you’re trying to make something to broadly appeal to as many people as possible, you stop making art, so I don’t know why people keep expecting AAA to produce artistic experiences.

- Comment on Why the skibidi are you adding skibidi to the Cambridge Dictionary? We think it has "staying power", answer word boffins 2 weeks ago:
I don’t really care too much about which slang words we decide to carry forward. I’ve long since adopted rizz and -ussy, and like delulu being added here.
I am a little bothered by the fact skibidi doesn’t have a definition. I feel like words should have a meaning if they want to be added to our official lexicon. It seems like skibidi is just a sound children enjoy making.
- Comment on What are your experiences using Linux for gaming? 3 weeks ago:
I started out using an old Nvidia Geforce 1060 TI and an i5 whose model number now escapes me. My experience was terrible, on Mint, Ubuntu, and Bazzite. Most games didn’t work, and researching the error messages I found in my logs just directed me to Nvidia forum posts from 6 months to a year ago where a user described my exact issue and received no response.
Then, I purchased a new pre-fab computer with an AMD Ryzen 5 7600X3D processor and a Radeon RX 9060 XT GPU. I still had a handful of issues on Ubuntu, so I switched to Bazzite and it’s been smooth sailing ever since. I can run the vast majority of games through Steam, and use Bottles for anything else.
The lesson I learned was fuck Nvidia. Team Red 4 lyfe.

I think the implication is that it’s a non-poisonous frog who has merely painted themselves blue. bird will be fine, bird too silly to even know they made a mistake.

No, in my experience people like that just end up trolling me because they have no frame of reference and don’t care about reality. You can’t troll somebody with math if they reject the idea of learning anything about or using math.

- Comment on How much should a game cost? 1 month ago:
Ideally, enough for the development to be profitable, with a little bit extra to help start funding development on the studio’s next game.
That’s a big reason why AAA is unsustainable, and trying to increase their prices to make up for it. It’s a lot harder to have development be profitable when you have to pay 5,000 people than when it’s only 50.
- Comment on Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 gets its first teaser, and you'd better "be prepared for sadness" 1 month ago:
I mean, the biggest warnings of cyberpunk fiction have always been about corporations consolidating more power than nations. With that in mind, the genre hasn’t been a warning for decades; just a mirror to our existing capitalist dystopia.

My guess is that MAGA content was getting flagged, and Youtube believes that should be monetizable in modern America.

The trick is to have an undiagnosed illness that constantly upsets your stomach and threatens to regurgitate any food you eat. Once I realized it hurts less to not eat at all, I started regularly skipping on meals. What’s really annoying is that I still have a pudgy tummy, even though I’m stuck on a diet some people would dream of being able to commit to.

The weird part about them staying over is that their partner isn’t also home, since they have to text them this information. That makes me think the idea is they’re living together. Also in either case it implies that OP is taking care of the kid, since I don’t think you should just leave a nine yr old home alone.
- Comment on [deleted] 3 months ago:
OP is already living with their partner and making the kid breakfast? and they’re worrying about their relationship getting too serious?
- Comment on [deleted] 3 months ago:
I don’t really think we need to manufacture any more. The way I see it, there’s already a natural surplus of bottoms.
- Comment on Hey Randy, I'm not sure if saying that a "real fan" will figure out how to pay $80 for Borderlands 4 is a good look 3 months ago:
Honestly, I found the weapons and builds that I played pretty fun. To me, the plot and general writing is so bad I think it ruins an otherwise great game. BL3 might be the only game that I recommend muting everything and turning off subtitles to enjoy it more, just such obnoxious writing.

Tbh, even if you have a gun, your odds are not 100%. You’re firing at essentially a biological tank, small caliber fire might cause pain and eventually kill a polar bear with non-vital shots, but it’s not going to stop one barreling down on you.
Realistically, you need to be a decent enough marksmen to aim for a vital point, all while making your will saves because a giant monster is charging you. I’m pretty sure most humans are still fucked.

Yeah I know about the centipedes, I’ve had roommates that used some in the past.
The big issue is that I have really bad arachnophobia, so the bug I care the most about getting rid of is spiders. just seeing one causes me to freeze and start panicking. The spiders here are harmless, but try telling that to my dumb brain. It’s not even like I see them that frequently, but seeing just one ruins my week because I get paranoid that there are more I’m not seeing.

Serious question: as someone who really, really hates bugs, are there any lizards I can just let roam my apartment? I feel like it’d be really chill to have a big scaly friend who could snack on the occasional spider or fly in my apt between meals.
- Comment on HBO Boss Insists 'Harry Potter' Show Will Not Contain J.K. Rowling's Anti-Trans Views 3 months ago:
Oh yeah I’m sure, because media companies were so great at catching her insane Jewish caricatures. Watch the main villain’s evil scheme include using polyjuice potions to change their gender, but since they aren’t called out as explicitly trans it’s fine.
