When I was a tween (or almost) someone developed a beef with a local sysop and started posting, “WE HAD A DEAL!!!” over and over on the BBS’s graffiti wall that you saw at login. It became a local meme and people started posting it everywhere in the local calling zone for no particular reason. It was the first sort of flash event I saw, and a significant development in the local culture I was in, but today that culture has been entirely destroyed, and it’s a weird thing I don’t share with anyone. But it always comes to mind as though it might be relevant, and never is.
We had a deal

WE HAD A DEAL!!

Exactly. Every time I see the phrase, I want to go all “disco ball”.

Becoming a local meme on local internet had to be so much worse than it is today. No gen alpha child will understand the pain of getting dunked on by all 10 of the people that had a computer near you

Sysop?
Smokeydope@lemmy.world 3 weeks ago
System Operator. The In non-nerd speak, it was the guy who owned and ran the local public fourms site on his computer that you connected to with your computer. Lemmys instance admins are usually sysops for example as they have root/hw access to the computer that the Lemmy instance software runs on. This person is talking about an admin of a local fourm site early internet users used before centralized social media like MySpace and Facebook made Bulletin Board Systems (BBS) irrelevant.

So she wants to go to jail if she wakes up with a headache?

When she says she wants to be dominated and you find out what she really wants

I love how for me the next post is something about exposing vulnerabilities that could allow hackers to take control of your system. I just like the idea of some guy on a computer hacking peoples headaches. See guys? The vaccines WERE an evil plot by microsoft to put microchips in our brains and BUY TESLA!!! ALWAYS OBEY! NEVER THINK FOR YOURSELF! TELL YOURSELF YOU’RE AN ALPHA LEADER, BUT REALLY YOU JUST FOLLOW THE PACK! USE X/TWITTER!
…whoa, I passed out there. What happened? And why do I still have a headache? I thought I took a nap. Or…blacked out. Whatever.

I think they meant ppyowna the OOP
ryedaft@sh.itjust.works 3 weeks ago
Could be. A lot of bots take good posts and post them as their own.
ocean@lemmy.selfhostcat.com 3 weeks ago
You definitely looked it up for horndog reasons but you got me to look for no other reason, and holy crap!
Not only are they definitely a bot, so we are just reposting LLM slop?, but all of the replies to her in every post are verified people who are most certainly also bots.

Usually these accounts are “subtle” onlyfans bait.

I was going to say to drink some water. Both would probably be good.
Nasan@sopuli.xyz 3 weeks ago
Drinking water should always be the first thing you do. Too many dehydrated dummies suffering out there because “water has no taste”.

No joke, sometimes constipation causes headaches. Gut health is super important for well being.

Another one is air quality.
If you are breathing in too many undesirable aerosols when you sleep, you are not getting better, but worse.

It does work like 75%+ of the time for me. With those chances a nap is always worth the risk.
