I think the real upsetting thing isn’t Biden’s performance, or havong Biden as president four more years. He achieved quite a bit after all. The real upsetting thing is the DNC being such cunts that they even pushed for this debate, hoping that Biden could win, only to deny and ignore Biden’s abhorrent performance immediately after. That Bernie got shafted twice by them, that is the really upsetting part.

That’d be hilarious, as it confirms that the dad wanted to intimmidate anon by pulling out his gun and in turn got intimmidated by anon’s gun.

If this is real and not just staged, i really like the implication that people receptive to this kind of messaging have been gaslit by troll campaigns into holding views that run counter to their own interest.
I think anyone paying attention already suspected as much, but with many of those troll farms now switching to ChatGPT, again, if this is real, it highlights how we now can get undeniable proof of this farming happening. - Comment on BBC News - Stonehenge covered in powder paint by Just Stop Oil 1 week ago:
Wait wait wait, hold your horses. Do you mean to tell me, that the oil industry doesn’t care for this protest, or any protest for that matter? I’m shocked! Shocked, I tell you. It’s almost as if this protest wasn’t meant to impress the oil exec-types…
- Comment on BBC News - Stonehenge covered in powder paint by Just Stop Oil 1 week ago:
Because that doesn’t make the headlines.

Ah yes, let’s commit industrial sabotage. That’ll go swimmingly!

"They are sensitive and they are completely covered in prehistoric markings which remain to be fully studied and any surface damage to the stones is hugely concerning.
Bullshit. There is next to no other historic site that has been studied in greater detail. If no scientist up until now has created a detailed map of what is to find on those stones, then frankly, it’s their own fault.
If anything, they should be concerned about acidic rain caused by air pollution. But you don’t hear much about that, now do you?

Let’s be real here. What could climate protesters do that wouldn’t get them bad attention? History has shown: Nothing. There is nothing they could do that wouldn’t get them bad attention. In Germany, they even got cussed out for blocking private jets.
Face it: The powerful do not fear retaliation from the masses if they vilify climate protesters. The protesterscannot win the PR battle. So all they have left is publicity stunts. And as far as publicity stunts go, plastering stones with water-soluble paint is about as tame as it gets. - Comment on BBC News - Stonehenge covered in powder paint by Just Stop Oil 1 week ago:
It’s either this or ineffectual protests that get swept under the rug and ignored. You should be happy that their protest is purely cosmetic too.

Tech-savvy people tend to trend left. And with the reddit exodus, only those that cared about API access and privacy left.

The HN discussion seems to be plagued by pretty uninformed positions.
“There is no Signal fork on F-Droid”
Molly (Enhanced and security-focused fork of Signal) f-droid.org/packages/im.molly.app/
“Telegram is privacy-focussed”
E2e chats have to be created by long-pressing on a contact and then choosing a menu option. The default tap starts normal e2s chats. Group chats are e2s as well.

- Comment on How to ease up the return to GW2 2 months ago:
I, for one, would start with getting the hang of some builds. snowcrows.com has builds for high end gameplay (which I recommend) and open world. Many HoT and PoF elite specs are still meta. If you buy the Icebrood Saga story steps, you get access to the IBS strikes, which are a good mid-point between open-world triviality and higher-end content.
gw2efficiency.com is a handy website that allows you to gain an overview over your account, as well as offering crafting support, allowing you see what materials you ate missing to craft an item.
I took a years-long hiatus after HoT, briefly returning for PoF and I only really go back into the game after the Icebrood Saga already concluded. I wanted to complete legendaries, since after the introduction of the legendary wardrobe, you can equip any legendary on all your characters now. I also got into instanced content. First fractals, the raids, then strikes. I now am fully kitted out with legendaries and run all raids and strikes with CMs (- ToF CM) weekly.

That’s a pretty meh solution. You need to sub to everything to populate your federated tab and then your federated tab becomes a tell of what you subbed to.

GTA Online missions became better with time. New missions are way more convenient to play than older missions. The only downside is that Rockstar also heavily cut down on the stuff you can use during missions. Rockstar, during my playtime I assembled an army that can rival a small nation. I don’t want to fight most missions on foot, I want to obliterate my target with a tank!
- Comment on Does anyone else feel like 90% of the population is stupid? 6 months ago:
Most people just don’t care enough in my opinion. When it comes to politics, all they want is to be left alone. They just look for the first piece of media that confirms their biases and be content with that. I think that’s why conservat8ve fearmongering works so well. All they have to do is to convince those persons that the left wants to tell them how to live and that is enough for those people to trust that conservative media.

I am confused by many of the comments in the linked discussion. They essentially argue for exposure therapy, when the first sentence of that article says that the redirection of the emotional regulation is what prevents exposure therapy from working.
