  You would have references from your current job, even if you’re cartoonishly unlikeable. Keep light contact with people you get on with even (probably especially) after they part ways with the organization you work for. If/when you need a job, ask those people if they know any leads you might follow.

  Gaming with the homies. I ought to be able to get a couple dogs one day. I’m getting better at cooking. I meet new and amazing people every now and then.

  I do my best to steer the world in the direction I’d like to see it go, and I try take pride in the effort, not in the results. The destination might look dark now but you can still enjoy the journey. I hope that makes sense.

  Another less serious thing: backing up the “girls don’t need muscle hunks” with pictures of a bunch of famous actors, several of which are definitely jacked, is not proving the point you want it to.

  I see this sentiment all the time and it always bothered me, but I only recently realized exactly why: you’re not talking about the same thing as the cis straight guys.

  You don’t have to be that attractive to find love. Plenty of ugly people have relationships. Just be yourself, dress well, don’t say stupid things etc then go out and meet people and you’ll probably meet someone you vibe with. But that’s not really what the cis straight guys are talking about. They want to put less effort into having a sex life. They want to walk into a party and have women approach them. They want to feel conventionally attractive. Best way to do that is to be somewhat muscular.

  I know it’s a meme but can somebody set me straight? I swear I read somewhere that this narrative started with the research community saying, essentially, “we know a number of ways in which they might have achieved this feat but we aren’t sure which one they used,” but the entertainment/conspiracy communities heard “there is no explanation for how these people were able to achieve this feat.”

  You have no idea how much skinny guys hear this haha. I’m sure you mean well by it but at the end of the day you’re making light of what is a struggle for a lot of people.

  With that being said, if the financials are there then yeah OP should be building some muscle. I personally needed to be on 3000 calories a day to gain any weight at all. But I swear gaining 20 pounds (8 or 9 kgs) turned my dating life around unbelievably fast.
