    That’s exactly why I set a custom, selfrecorded ringtone as my on call ringtone. I had used a default one prior, but after a few small heart attacks, it was a no brainer.

      I actually do this with my notification sound too, but never got around to making a ringtone. Very few people call me to my personal, and I don’t want to bother with the work phone since I’ll just end up hating that sound no matter what it is.

  I used to have the FF7 battle music as my ring tone. Because phone calls were random encounters. Certain ones got the boss battle music instead.

  Hearing that randomly in public from someone else’s phone would have made me excited to see a kindred spirit. Closest I ever did see was someone using the victory music, but that would have been more appropriate as a hang up tone.

  I should do that again. It’s funny because I think it was moving to a new phone and not wanting to figure out how to set custom ring tones that made me put it off until I forgot it, even though the phone that had it was a flip phone that I had to use a special connector to even hook it up to my PC and had to find a program to encode the song in the arcane format used by dumb phones and the phone that replaced it probably just needed me to drop the songs into the right folder or find out how to browse the file system when setting ring tone.

    About the Bixby button thing, I think that newer Samsungs are doing it better. They have the default power button hold action set to open Bixby, but it is reconfigurable in the settings to the normal power menu. Weird that it defaults to Bixby, but at least it won’t be a physically useless button once you unbind it.

  I hate every song I’ve used as a ringtone except my current one, which has been the helldivers theme since basically the launch of the game. It’s just too damn good.

  could be worse. you could pick a song you like as your alarm tone, and panic when u driving listening to your ipod or spotify.

      But you don’t want to change your tones. Most people have separate ones for each type of set alert. Let’s you know what the alert is without looking

      Yeah, of course you can.

      I use this for mine since it starts quiet and ramps up. If I’m awake it’s not startling, if I’m asleep it’ll wake me when the woman starts singing.
