I use it as a temporary fix if I’m very hungry while I’m out and about and can’t get a meal immediately. It’s more filling than a pure chocolate bar because it has nuts.

Maps/gps navigation and being able to talk to someone across the world for free (provided you have an internet connection). Genz and younger millennials don’t know how expensive long-distance calls were back then.

I know why Wemby takes a ton of 3s, but man, if he just drove to the basket like CP3 directed instead of taking that 3 with less than a minute left in regulation, they could’ve won it and avoided OT.

Thanks for making lemmee awesome and it’s good to hear that you’ll still be around in some capacity. I’m optimistic of your confident endorsement of the admin team so hopefully the quality of the instance stays the same (or gets better!). Good luck!

One of those trailers where they show almost everything.
- Comment on Why does the Music Industry allow Spotify/Apple to profit off of them? 1 week ago:
While that is true, even independent artists who don’t have a label grabbing all the profits still get shafted, earning next to nothing with streams.

Will it be free shipping since it’s over $35? And will they honor 30-day returns?

I had the same sentiment about the implications of

Alia not being born
in the movie, but I also understand they were already running at almost 3 hours. Maybe an extra montage to show time passing by? Or maybe that’s too cliche. Either way, it’s still the best film of 2024 for me.

I’m attending BSides right now and holy crap one of the three rooms for talks is just all AI topics for the entire 2 days. Not that it’s bad, but the talks do become repetitive, and it’s the same stuff being said over and over again. The organizers also probably didn’t anticipate the number of people interested in the topic because they put those talks in the smallest room among the three. And the biggest room was like less than half filled at maximum.

I only go if the movie is worth watching in (true) IMAX or Dolby. So that will be like 1 or 2 movies a year. This year it was Dune Part 2. Otherwise, I just wait for it to be available to watch at home.

That’s why I always carry a small bottle of isopropyl alcohol as my hand sanitizer. It’s also great that my local grocery store has sanitary wipes right beside the carts so you can wipe down the handle before using it.

I’m lactose intolerant but I use a little bit of lactose-free, 0% fat milk for my coffee in the morning because the alternatives (almond or oat milk) just don’t taste as good with coffee.

When I play basketball, it gives a slight advantage in the beginning when opponents don’t know I’m a lefty because they automatically assume I shoot with my right.

- Comment on If I go to Canada can I retire there and draw SS from the US? Also can I go to Canada buy a cabin or house with a plot of land and not work? Unless I just needed some walking around money? 3 weeks ago:
Yup, and a lot of people confuse being able to visit visa-free as a tourist and actually living there. Digital nomad westerners skirt around visa/residency requirements in 3rd world countries by basically leaving and coming back every 30 days to reset the stay limits. That won’t go as well with first world countries as they will quickly notice the pattern and probably ban you.

Not directed at you personally, but I find it fascinating how most people from first-world countries think they can just walk into another country and live there. As someone who moved from a 3rd world country to a 1st world country, it took me 2 years just to get in, and another 4 years to get permanent residency. And that’s relatively quick. People from certain countries wait more than a decade to get permanent residency in the US. You either need to have a job or a citizen family member that is willing to sponsor you, or get in with a student visa. And not just any job or family member. The hiring company must meet certain requirements to make sure that you are filling in a position that is in a specific list of professions allowed. As for family, they need to be immediate relatives. So you can’t live there just because you have a cousin who is a citizen there.
