Reviewing for a GIAC certification exam next week. It’s a beta exam so my score will help dictate the passing score when it officially comes out next year.
- Comment on Sources: Maxey challenged Embiid over tardiness 2 days ago:
As far as I’m concerned, this is Maxey’s team now. I don’t think Embiid is ever getting back to his regular form and will just start to fade away. Even if he gets back to playing, the constant injuries will prevent him from getting any form of consistency and his playing time will eternally be for ramping up only to get sidelined again, then repeat.
- Comment on Why do the majority of women still take their partner's last name? 3 days ago:
It’s tradition in my country but not mandatory. The archaic government system is also easier to navigate through if a married couple have same the last name. Because it’s so common for a wife to take her husband’s last name, it immediately raises eyebrows when people claim to be married but have different surnames. In our case, my wife took my last name because she just likes it better than hers. It’s neutral and easier to pronounce.

Bad decision by Wemby to force that contested 3 and airball when they were only down by 1 with more than a minute left.

Wasn’t able to catch the game but saw Luka’s defensive lowlights, and wow.
- Comment on How do I get over fear of cooking? 1 week ago:
Use induction or electric stoves. They don’t have a visible fire so that might help with your worry of starting one. But remember it can still happen of course, it just helps that you’re not seeing an actual fire while cooking. Like others said, you can also use other electric cookware like an airfryer, griddle, etc. Just make it a habit to be always present and not forget that you’re cooking something and you’ll avoid most burning/fire accidents.
- Comment on What would it feel like passing through a wormhole? 1 week ago:
The movie Interstellar supposedly had physicist consultants to try to depictions of space stuff as accurate as possible, in particular the blackhole. Not sure if the wormhole is the same, since we have no actual scientific data or evidence of one. So that’s probably the best guess they could make.

- Comment on On a lighter note: Why do people still buy fast food? 2 weeks ago:
It’s in the name. It’s fast. You order at a drive-thru and you’re on your way in a couple of minutes. I agree though that prices are insane now and doesn’t justify the quality. I’d rather go to an asian restaurant for their lunch specials and get more for my buck.
- Comment on [Même] Which movie was this for you? 2 weeks ago:
Huh that’s interesting. I kinda remember it not being that well received at the time. It did get a cult following over the years so maybe the IMDb rating has gone up since then?

It went down when they realized you can’t just walk into Canada.
- Comment on [Même] Which movie was this for you? 2 weeks ago:
I loved Equilibrium and was surprised it wasn’t rated as good.
- Comment on [deleted] 2 weeks ago:
Since you’re absolutely sure it’s an unauthorized charge, file a chargeback with C1. The worst that can happen is the restaurant blacklists you, which isn’t too bad since you wouldn’t want to go back to an establishment that charges random tips without your knowledge. Also, it’s not like a big business like an airline or something where getting blacklisted can be a pain.

My gas bill is $48 and the actual gas I used is worth $2. The rest is fees and other stuff.
- Comment on Why did the pope announce anime mascots? 2 weeks ago:
The catholic church has been bleeding members for a while now. This is probably a “fellow kids” attempt to try to get younger people interested again.

Mine is deciding whether to start with a “Hi <name>” when replying, or just directly responding without a greeting, usually when there’s already been a lot of back and forth or I’m getting annoyed at the person.
- Comment on Stop Wasting Pumpkins! 3 weeks ago:
The version I know is that they will only live if they can stick the fruit/vegetable in their ass without making a sound, and they were shot because they couldn’t stop giggling because they saw the third guy carrying <whatever large produce>.
- Comment on Why don't we just gather up all the ocean's trash and all the nonrecyclables, put them in a rocket, and launch it into the sun? 3 weeks ago:
I also have this incredibly stupid idea to build a very long pipe that goes all the way outside earth’s gravity pull, then launch all the garbage through it with a mechanism similar to a railgun. It doesn’t have to be thrown directly at the sun, just enough to launch stuff out of orbit.
- Comment on How are scammers getting my email address? 3 weeks ago:
Someone who you’ve corresponded to over email had their address book compromised and it was used in a mass phishing email campaign. It’s not necessarily targeted at you. I actually have experience of this happening. I had an email address that I used only to correspond to a single person. I never gave the email to anyone else and never signed up for anything. Well that person’s email was compromised and I started getting spam/phishing emails shortly after that.
- Comment on Support local bands 3 weeks ago:
I always buy merch as it’s worth more than any amount a band earns from streaming. I wish more bands have shirts that aren’t just black though. I’d estimate only a quarter of the artists I’ve seen have shirts of a different color.
