I think “alpha” males appear naturally in some species, but not in wolves and definitely not in hominids, lol.

I had a cousin, and I installed I think Linux Mint on his netbook. Few months later my uncle said that I broke the hard drive in that netbook, and I was like “Huh? That’s not how any of this works”.

Gen Alpha are like 5 years old, so why would they?
- Comment on Anon did philosophy 1 week ago:
Well, I am from Poland, and I don’t know any friend who is overly obsessed about women breasts. But if you look into American media, especially from few decades ago when it was normal to oversexualize women, it’s all about that.
I haven’t been to Germany yet, so I don’t know what’s normal there. But I might just have overgeneralized my observation, yeah.
- Comment on Anon did philosophy 1 week ago:
The obsession about breasts is mostly American thing. Here in Europe it’s all about butts.

As a long time release male, I also can’t relate.

I’d buy a pen, and try to resell it for twice the price.
Then I’d buy a pair of sunglasses…

I don’t mind grabbing a beer with coworkers after work, but that’s it. In work I’d rather have my mind somewhere else.

It appears that you seem to be more correct than me, although I remember hearing that in African (maybe not all?) cultures breasts are not fetished at all, especially if woman walk topless all day in some of them.
- Comment on How do body organs work in males? 5 weeks ago:
We’re not. It’s a western culture thing. People living in Africa are weirded out by western males thinking of female breasts in sexual way.

Meanwhile I am waiting to buy a good “unsupported by Windows 11” PC cheap this October.

Why even use Spotify at all? Isn’t it like the worst option in terms of actually paying creators? Even YouTube Music is much better option imho, although the app is unresponsive and a UX nightmare.

Don’t look up how much space Nvidia drivers take then.
- Comment on [deleted] 1 month ago:
This could technically be possible with AR glasses. You’d still want to pair them with a wireless keyboard and maybe a mouse though for efficiency. I don’t know what’s the state of that though.
- Comment on [deleted] 1 month ago:
For most people smartphone is more convenient. I much prefer desktop computer though, because how more efficient it is, and apps don’t simply stop, because of low memory (although I don’t understand why my phone with 6 gigs of RAM has this problem in the first place).

I might be overly pedantic, but it drives me insane that there are many words, where you can’t take the meaning from its parts, because they would mean something completely different.

I don’t plan to do LASIK, unless:
-
I am not able to put my glasses on;
-
When my glasses break, I am not able to go outside and drive by bus to the nearest glasses repair shop.

Pokemon MMO’s are the entire different thing. I am not 100% sure how they developed them, but they seem to be just reimplementations of original game mechanics, but while reusing original assets.
And yet I don’t understand why you say they are not taken down by Nintendo. Couple of them were already closed down because of copyright infringement, and they make big news about that.
- Comment on Mario Kart 64 got finally decompiled! 2 months ago:
They will eventually be all taken down. That’s the point. They have no legal framework to exist, and Nintendo could strike any time they want, like Rockstar did with the re3 project.
They also have valid reasons to think that these projects are causing them to lose money, since they give alternative (and technically better) solutions to play their old games, without buying any Nintendo hardware or software (unless you dump your games, but let’s be honest. You don’t).
- Comment on Mario Kart 64 got finally decompiled! 2 months ago:
Exactly. But somehow I got downvoted heavily for saying the obvious.
- Comment on Mario Kart 64 got finally decompiled! 2 months ago:
No one says that the actual source code (C or whatever) is “piped out”. The machine instructions (in form of a binary) you get is the code that is executed by the machine/emulator and it’s copyrighted like any other data on the disc/cartridge. You are not writing the game yourself if you are decompiling it. And it’s logically a derivative work.
I don’t understand what kind of mental gymnastics you need to do to think that you are doing something original here.
- Comment on Mario Kart 64 got finally decompiled! 2 months ago:
The code itself is also copyrighted. Decompiled code is a derivative work.
