In fact, I don’t respond or interact. When they appear in my feed I simply block them, but no matter how much I block racist and right-wing accounts they continue to appear in my feed.

Unfortunately many of these platforms treat a block as an interaction.
There is no way to ignore these posts without triggering an interaction.
As others said, it is truly the goal of these sites to make you angry.

Real answer. Elon is trying to push a right wing agenda, and it has taken two forms, first, amplify anyone paying for Twitter blue, which is simply a pay for play system. The second is, Elon is a right wing dipshit who has pushed mostly non right wingers off the platform.

I stopped using X for the same reason, the fact that I am not American (not even European) and I see pro-trump tweets randomly in my feed is mind-boggling. The feed is often filled with misogynistic, religious, racist stuff. All thanks to pelon pusk.

Twitter is a cash welfare program for the far right. Funded by corps that advertise there and Musk’s own money, cash gets handed out by the algorithm to the most engaging posters (read: far right and outrageous pedlars of disinformation) and righty douch-bag influencers (read: failed models who became weird alt-right bimbos with Cristian gun fetishists who all use the same weird voice).

Twitter’s algorithm, like most social media companies, promotes rage bait on purpose because angry users are users that get into flame wars with other users and as a result, raise engagement metrics to show advertisers.
It might stop if you just don’t engage for long enough, but honestly, just consider a different site altogether if you need microblog stuff in your system, Twitter is going the way of Blockbuster.
