It’s actually a reference to Brick House, the lyrics:
“Ow, she’s a brick house She’s mighty-mighty, just lettin’ it all hang out She’s a brick house That lady’s stacked and that’s a fact Ain’t holding nothing back”
Referring to the demeanor of Dr.House and how he lets it all hang out, and holds nothing back.

There is a third way!
You thirst to know more but have a soul crushing deficit of self esteem and truly believe you’re incapable of anything more than menial labor. You remain with your thirst, not content with your ignorance, but unable to overcome the self image of “absolute moron with no place in the scientific community who must be narcissistic for even thinking he could be” and so you grow to hate yourself even more because of it!
…Err… Or so my friend says.

Jesus fucking Christ… So not only are they parasites, but they’re the kind of parasites that kill the host and occupy the body for their own purpose…
To call them scum feels way too tepid.

The “best” part, UHC is the largest of the healthcare deniers making massive profits and bad luck Brian got paid the least of all the CEOs of the top 10 healthcare deniers.
Getting screwed by the company that screws the most people. Poetic.

It’s funny because in my initial writing of my comment I actually wrote pesos instead of yen but I wasn’t sure how close the peso was to the dollar so I went with yen lol

That better be in yen or something JFC. Who’s their market Saudi princes?!
- Comment on Iraq War was preceded by the largest worldwide non-violent protests in history and the war happened anyway. 1 week ago:
I was just recently informed of a podcast called “blowback” the other day on Lemmy and their first season actually goes into Iraq and the lead up to it. It’s a very good podcast for anyone interested in the topic of American intervention in other countries. Very well produced for the subject matter.
Long story short there was nothing that was going to stop us from going after Iraq. “We” wanted that for a long time and it’s not just a simple “cuz oil” thing.
- Comment on If we're living in a simulation, why would the simulation creators allow the sims to ponder and speculate whether or not they live in a simulation? 1 week ago:
Depends on the structure of the simulation. If it’s general enough then they didn’t specifically plan to have this capacity, it’s just the result of the inputs and constraints of the simulation.
- Comment on Why are Republicans struggling in Swing State Elections? 2 weeks ago:
Apparently a big part of Elons attempts at voter outreach for Trump were to encourage “bullet ballot” votes (only voting for the president and leaving everything else blank), which is also what caused some scare about potential voter fraud when the very large increase of bullet ballots were noticed. He had teams of people reaching out to “low propensity voters” and trying to convince them to simply show up and vote for Trump, not to worry about knowing anything else. So that actually worked in Trump’s and Musks favor as far as simply getting them in, but there was little consideration for the state that would leave the party in.
(My personal bias would say neither Trump nor Musk give two shits about Republicans, or anyone but themselves, so Musk gets the position to further enrich himself and protection from investigation he wanted and Trump gets the same.)
There is also the issue of the media, when a fox news or the like paints Trump as dogmatic savior, only he can save you, then that leaves a lot of people feeling like only he matters so they don’t pay much attention to who else they should vote for.

The fact that my family would be upset if I stopped living. That’s literally it.
Once my older family members are gone I can finally go too. I have no interest in seeing how terrible the future will be as a perpetually single factory worker schmuck with no income potential to keep up with the exploitation of our economic system.

Oh you haven’t heard of Chevron Deference yet have you!
That’s the great part, we stopped those pesky experts from having any say anymore so no more interpretation of the intention of a vague law from the EPA or FDA! Now the courts get to decide what the allowed amount of Acrylamide, Phthalates, Perchlorate, Potassium bromate, and Azodicarbonamide, should be in foods and the like if a legal challenge is brought against a company!
I’m sure good ol’ Thomas definitely understands what Azodicarbonamide is and how it affects the body!

To be honest, my shithead US centric mindset kicked in there. OP never mentioned being from the US, but the rise of fascism has been a major focus as of late so I assumed they were.
It’s good to know other countries are more sensible and don’t share our stupid concept of masculinity being degraded by not having a woman be your

While cooking classes might be nice, I would think for someone who is suspected of falling into the fascist sphere of influence that masculinity is more than likely highly emphasized so they would more than likely be offended by the thought of cooking.
Although if you could frame it in a masculine sense like barbeque then maybe you could get somewhere. I don’t know if there are specific group barbeque classes though lol

For astronomy (really astrophotography, which is considered even more expensive) I guess it depends on what you consider expensive. For $500 and with 3 free software products I’m able to produce stuff like this:
A rather large telescope (8" dobsonian reflector) I have as well was “only” $500. So it can be a hobby that you don’t need to spend all that much on, but again that depends on what we consider expensive. $500 is definitely not cheap but I’m just a schmuck in a factory and I could save for that.
- Comment on In the US, is this actually the moment past the point of no return? 4 weeks ago:
It’s so fucking disgusting to be honest… I’m just a worthless dumb shit uneducated factory worker and at 17 I could see right through that garbage… I was going to join the military after highschool to get training since I’m poor and had no real direction to gamble on college, and then take it from there whether to stay in or not.
Once talk started of invading Iraq I immediately said fuccccck that. I still blame Bush partially for my current situation. :/
- Comment on This world is cruel… 4 weeks ago:
That’s a pretty big issue of mine as well. I’m 38 and I live around a sea of old people. Not only is where I live too expensive for people my age, but there isn’t really anything to do where you could meet someone. I have absolutely no interest in going to a bar, I don’t even drink anymore.

If self worth would have a numerical value, before online dating mine was in the single digits, maybe teens, out of 100. After, it’s deep in the negatives.
