While I understand what you’re saying, Okcupid was way better before match group bought it. They could make money and still have a useful website.
Sometimes it’s simply greed. :(
- Comment on Hmmm who could it possibly be? 1 day ago:
What the actual fuck… I need to find someone who is deeply familiar with the types of jobs a person could have.
If you told me “chocolate technology specialist” was a thing, I’d have probably gone to college for it. Instead I’m stuck in a factory, just dreaming about chocolate… And then going home and eating it lol

On top of that fireworks are pretty bad for everything and those with PTSD.
My coworkers dog would thank you very much as well for not shooting off fireworks. He said he usually drives out of town for a few hours until it dies down because his dog gets terrified :(

- Comment on So if we're just good with careening into fascism 2.0 what does the future look like? 3 days ago:
We’re already at the thoughtcrime stage…
Funny how Republicans online were the ones crying about that, but now they’re salivating at the idea of deporting Mamdani for the crime of being a socialist. Can’t have those political opinions, that’s wrongthink!
- Comment on So if we're just good with careening into fascism 2.0 what does the future look like? 3 days ago:
So I actually just kinda answered this as a “joke” in another thread, but essentially:
The future: fascists, racist robots, billionaires, more fascists, bombing civilians, cutting science funding, the earth is on fire, more fascists, cutting HIV study funding, more racist robots, gutting artistic employment, more billionaires, fried donuts.
- Comment on Me if I had th emoney 3 days ago:
Lol 3 heads of romaine lettuce @ $5 to last the week and a family pack of chicken breast @ $10-13 that provides lunch all week and dinner some nights. 1 large tomato and a Vidalia onion for the week as well not sure of the price. I think for the dish itself it can’t be more than a few dollars. I cut up one breast into small pieces and bake that for the salads.
So I lied, not grilled, baked lol don’t know why I wrote grilled.

I’ve “grown up” and cook my own food, rarely eat microwave ready meals, and have even incorporated much more salad and vegetables into my diet to the point that some nights a salad with grilled chicken is dinner.
The chocolate milk stays forever.

- Comment on There's still no sign of Star Citizen 1.0, but it did just get a revamped referral program so the die-hards can tempt in even more saps 4 days ago:
Two of their biggest mistakes were: one, essentially hiding the fact that the single player game Squadron 42 has taken the lions share of the development focus for the last 6+ years. This makes it appear like they just don’t know what they’re doing at all with star citizen and that’s why they’re slow (they still don’t 100% know what they’re doing).
Second, they made their sound design guy who was just interested in being a pilot and eventually learned how, to be their lead ship performance/gameplay director/developer (not sure exactly on the title name.) that has lead to the ships just not flying how people want or expect them to. That and Chris Roberts wants “WWII, star wars, type dogfights” when people want Newtonian physics, excess speed, fighting.

This is probably one of the few places my job doesn’t do it horribly.
Any gifts that aren’t perishable get saved up and then before Christmas we do a grab bag type thing where we all take a number and pick a “present” from the swag we’ve been sent.
The only way they do it “wrong” is that the perishables (usually cookies) always go to the office and we never get them on the factory floor! I want cookies DAMNIT!! Lol

Apparently I’m the result of a ripped condom and I’ve already made it known that I wished they’d have aborted. They divorced within a year of my birth, neither had any business being a parent. I still care about them enough that I don’t want them to suffer at all so I’m just waiting until they pass so I can do the job myself.
- Comment on Democrats fret about national fallout after Mamdani stuns in New York City 1 week ago:
It’s almost as if that’s what the people want, but the gripe with the DNC is that they keep trying to push for neoliberals. That’s why there is “division” in the party. They’re trying to keep the dominance of “moderates” even though that’s not what the people seem to want.
And in the face of all that, Democrats as a whole are constantly referred to as “Marxist leftists” by conservative media… It’s laughable.

I definitely feel for you guys in Europe, a lot of tough arguments to be had with employers coming up… If I understand correctly AC isn’t that common because it historically hasn’t been as necessary as it has been in the US. The future unfortunately is looking to make it necessary pretty much everywhere :(
- Comment on A secret, never-mentioned fact is that the people who voted for Zohran are also taxpayers. 1 week ago:
While generally true, I think “the media” does what I mentioned in order to “manufacture consent” in cases like this. They want to create the image of what is “real” and what “people you should believe” think. God forbid you should think for yourself and agree with a spooky spooky socialist, no no we need to make you afraid of him! We need you to believe that only “freeloaders” vote for him and “real taxpayers” will be hurt by him!

It’s a small enough company that decisions that involve any expensive expansions go to the owner. He’s already denied a request to set up a few fans near the ceiling to get airflow from one side of the building out to the other so anything like an actual a/c are out of the question.
The general response is “we told you it gets bad in the summer, if you don’t like it there are plenty of doors to walk out of.”
