My coworker does this with video and shit too it kills me…
5 guys in the same area, 4 of us know how headphones work, but Oldie McDust has to make us listen to his crap music and whatever video he’s listening to at the time…
He figured out how tictok works, even got himself a damn Bluetooth speaker but can’t bother to take the hint from the rest of us and get headphones…

And the Tankie Triad is against and sometimes straight up hostile to new users who aren’t tankies
I think it depends on what you’re saying and how you say it. I’m by no means a tankie but definitely really left leaning, as I learn more i’d probably even say leftist (I just can’t get behind the idea of a dictatorship of the proletariat even if I understand the reasoning) but I comment literally everywhere and have never had an issue with hexbear, .ml, or anything.
I think it’s more of a “know your audience” thing. I don’t go into a hexbear conversation firing off about “China bad” or whatever, I just say what I wanted that was relevant to their post.

As far as I know there have been no meaningful changes to the game other than the addition of a ground vehicle and the dlc everyone seems to hate.
I really really really really wanted to like the game, but the bean counters won again and had an incredibly soulless safe product released for all audiences. As they say, a game for everyone is a game for no one. :/
The way I got around what you mentioned in the spoiler was to just save my second playthrough as the “real one” so what you do still mattered.

Your never going to “find yourself” so even though you find programming mind numbingly boring learn web dev and get in early, make money, and buy amazon & nvidia stock. Don’t stay local for that girl, go away to college, she’s going to leave you anyway. Then I’d tell them to slap me as hard as they can since I almost entirely fucked their future.

- Comment on If you can’t discriminate based on age, how are there 55+ neighborhoods? 1 week ago:
No but I want to live in a neighborhood where the houses are actually fucking affordable.
It’s so goddamn disgusting to see a house around or even under 200k and then see “55+ community only”
Why the fuck do they get to have cheap housing when the argument is always “younger people just haven’t increased their value yet but as they get older they’ll have money too.” (The implication being “don’t worry about poor young people”)
So they get to have their increased wealth and decreased housing cost?

500GB total is pretty disgusting for a mod to be honest.

I haven’t tried, but I feel like that concept would be easy for me to grasp because I already find myself doing it with English if I happen to know the old words, Latin or otherwise, used to construct the modern ones.

The peasants shared a common version of reality and had a king living within a distance they could reach with a guillotine. We do not live in a comparable world unfortunately. We have decentralized kings, a system that encourages their replication, and propaganda networks that create “reality” to keep us separated :(

“There are four boxes to be used in the defense of liberty: soap, ballot, jury, and cartridge (or ammo). Please use in that order.”
en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Four_boxes_of_liberty
They’ve all but taken the soap box, we have “free speech zones” to “safely” protest out of sight, and when we ignore those the media either doesn’t cover it, or gives the most unflattering description, taking the side of corporations (see: Amazon strikes framed in "how will this affect your Christmas delivery. A.k.a: be mad at the employees)
They’ve taken the ballot box with Citizens United literally paving the way for what Elmo Muskrat is doing now: buying elections. We can’t elect the people we’d want to elect.
They’ve taken the jury through the elimination of the teaching of the concept of jury nullification (but also doesn’t apply in this specific situation) and have taken the Judiciary through ratfuckery (see: Mitch McTurtle refusing to seat any SCOTUS judges when it’s a Democrat picking them)
So all we’re left with is the “cartridge” or, ammo box.
They force this on us but “thankfully” at least some of us won’t just let us keep getting steamrolled. :/

It’s actually a reference to Brick House, the lyrics:
“Ow, she’s a brick house She’s mighty-mighty, just lettin’ it all hang out She’s a brick house That lady’s stacked and that’s a fact Ain’t holding nothing back”
Referring to the demeanor of Dr.House and how he lets it all hang out, and holds nothing back.

There is a third way!
You thirst to know more but have a soul crushing deficit of self esteem and truly believe you’re incapable of anything more than menial labor. You remain with your thirst, not content with your ignorance, but unable to overcome the self image of “absolute moron with no place in the scientific community who must be narcissistic for even thinking he could be” and so you grow to hate yourself even more because of it!
…Err… Or so my friend says.

- Comment on Iraq War was preceded by the largest worldwide non-violent protests in history and the war happened anyway. 5 weeks ago:
I was just recently informed of a podcast called “blowback” the other day on Lemmy and their first season actually goes into Iraq and the lead up to it. It’s a very good podcast for anyone interested in the topic of American intervention in other countries. Very well produced for the subject matter.
Long story short there was nothing that was going to stop us from going after Iraq. “We” wanted that for a long time and it’s not just a simple “cuz oil” thing.
- Comment on If we're living in a simulation, why would the simulation creators allow the sims to ponder and speculate whether or not they live in a simulation? 5 weeks ago:
Depends on the structure of the simulation. If it’s general enough then they didn’t specifically plan to have this capacity, it’s just the result of the inputs and constraints of the simulation.
