in French, les orteils but also plenty of slang: les nougats, les arpions, les radis, les haricots…

as a radical colourblind: colour is a construction of the mind. Colour names make no sense. The only thing that matters is contrast.

I frown at people eating kale mixed in mashed potatoes or calling white bread with peanut butter a lunch.
Joke aside, the Dutch like good food and are way more open to other cuisines than most European countries.

I’m not an expert but I wanted to build my own gaming mini-PC. I followed this guide step by step, which was super useful because they were giving useful tips to make sure everything fits and works correctly: techbuyersguru.com/…/building-a-small-form-factor… (they update the config each month so the current guide is very different from 5 years ago) But, in retrospective, I think I should have gone for a bigger case because there is basically no other GPU that can fit this case anymore.

Berlin wall for sure. Earlier major events like Tchernobyl, famine in Ethiopia or the death of Coluche (iconic French comedian, pretty big thing in France), I mostly remember my parents reaction and discussions at home.

I’m 45, so not a boomer but already too old to get any respect from people in their 30’s (90% of my colleagues for example). Simply speaking about something they didn’t experience (reading a map, installing an OS, meeting the love of your life without a dating app…) gets me a “Ok Boomer” each time so what do I do? I just shut the fuck up. I’m not worried, they’ll be in my position very quickly.

Is there a reader viewer button on Chrome? I don’t remember. This feature is vastly ignored, but it’s simply the perfect way to read content. No consent pop-up, no design, no ad, just a beautiful simple page with text and images.

I worked in open spaces with more than 300 desks per floor aligned next to each other and no walls. You can’t talk, you are always making eye contact with people you don’t even know, your screen is constantly visible to the others and you can’t keep anything personal next to you. A cubicle would have been a dream in comparison.

Judging my life based on my shitpost-answering habits is outrageous. Nothing to laugh about here.

I heard this 1000 times, together with “the two best moments in the life of a boat owner are the day you buy it, and the day you sell it”
- Comment on whats your dumb purchases? 2 months ago:
I bought an old boat in Amsterdam (3000€), did some reparations (500€), replaced the engine (1500€), paid the local tax (600€ x 3years). I had fun with it. No regrets. Then I was moving back to my country, I couldn’t find a buyer… so I lowered the price to 1500€.
You were great, old boat. But not a great investment.

stupid nazi-cowboy country. I’m tired of seeing my tv, cinema, internet… full of people with guns and shooting each others. Even your memes are problematic.

2005 was the best year: France had a hot and dry summer, so the grapes got a high concentration in sugars and tannins, which gave to most wines of that year an extreme deepness and complexity. Oh, I miss 2005 so much.

Benefits of trying to go zero plastic is: you can eat healthier. No highly processed food, sodas and all this industrial shit. It’s mostly fresh fruits, veggies, cereals, and once in a while, a bit of meat straight from the butcher or local market. And ok, you can’t be sure it wasn’t wrapped in plastic until it arrived in your kitchen, but at least, you have less garbage to throw out.
