- Annoyed_Crabby@monyet.cc 1 year ago- Nah ain’t biting these bait.
- spacemoss@lemmy.world 1 year ago- You should not be tipping your landlord. - If they are personaly providing any other services to you, such as maintenance, you need to get those clearly itemized and paid separately from rent.
- Carvex@lemmy.world 1 year ago- Rent plus a middle finger?
- chagall@lemmy.world 1 year ago- I like to zero out my bank accounts each year so I tip my landlord whatever the total combined balance is. - rab@lemmy.ca 1 year ago- Yeah same, I’m worried his kids will starve if I don’t - cerement@slrpnk.net 1 year ago- he just needs to cut back on the daily Starbucks, stop ordering avocado toast all the time, lift himself up by his bootstraps

- solidgrue@lemmy.world 1 year ago[deleted]- LemmyKnowsBest@lemmy.world 1 year ago- You didn’t even try to make it humorous. We thought you were serious.

- hoot@lemmy.ca 1 year ago- OP, I appreciate what you’ve done here. I lol’d, keep up the good work. A++ would tip again
- lazylion_ca@lemmy.ca 1 year ago- I dont think anybody is getting the joke. Dont expect a big tip. - rab@lemmy.ca 1 year ago- Yeah tough crowd eh

- LemmyKnowsBest@lemmy.world 1 year ago- I tip him 40% of my annual gross salary twice a month, then let him fuck me in the arse whenever he feels the urge because that’s just part of the contract. So grateful to my landlord for providing a roof over my head. I would give him more if I could but my math up there just isn’t mathing so I think I’m already overextended.
- cerement@slrpnk.net 1 year ago- “Landlords’ right has its origin in robbery. The landlords, like all other men, love to reap where they never sowed, and demand a rent even for the natural produce of the earth.” - TheDoctorDonna@lemmy.world 1 year ago- While this is the most accurate description of a landlord, I believe OP was joking.

- PP_BOY_@lemmy.world 1 year ago- It depends. A few years ago I could get by with just 15%, but with the cost of living so high, I’d feel bad if I didn’t give at least 20% minimum. Sometimes when I’ve just been paid, I’ll do 100% just to help out. - I think my landlord has a crush on me guys - Witchfire@lemmy.world 1 year ago- Negative, landlords can’t feel feelings - PP_BOY_@lemmy.world 1 year ago- Landlordphobia, uncensored and on full display. And I thought Lemmy was supposed to be the progressive community. 🙄

- Swaziboy@lemmy.world 1 year ago- I can’t tell if you’re serious or trolling! Well played…
- adespoton@lemmy.ca 1 year ago- I tip my landlord the same amount I tip my building contractor, my hotel manager, the stock boy at the grocery store, the guy who services the vending machines, all my local care salesmen, my insurance broker, my financial adviser, my stock broker, City Engineering workers, my librarian, toll booth operators, the police, firemen, paramedics, my doctor, my dentist, all the local medical specialists, and all long haul truck drivers, train engineers, the people who make the clothing I buy, the people who grow the food I eat, and that guy who hangs around throwing rocks at security cameras. - Of course, with so many people to tip, I generally divide the tip equally between all of them, out of what’s left in my chequing account at the end of the month, after I’ve paid off everything else and made some charitable donations. - Interestingly, I also usually tip everyone else in the world the same amount too, since I don’t eat out, stay in hotels or take taxis anywhere.
- bjoern_tantau@swg-empire.de 1 year ago- Well, I’m my own landlord, so I tip myself all the money that I have left over after the month. So… 0 €.
- FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 1 year ago- when I was in apartments, I didn’t? - why would you tip somebody you pay monthly rent to? - rab@lemmy.ca 1 year ago- Well landlords work very hard and should be tipped accordingly - cerement@slrpnk.net 1 year ago- landlords work in the same way scalpers work
- PeepinGoodArgs@reddthat.com 1 year ago- Right, that’s literally what rent is for.

- SauceBossSmokin@lemmy.world 1 year ago- Just the tip

The title of this community is “No Stupid Questions,” but you know what? It turns out there actually are stupid questions.

Do you think 15 percent is appropriate?
UncleBadTouch@lemmy.ca 1 year ago
For you, yes
ShepherdPie@midwest.social 1 year ago
Only if you want to signal that they’re doing a bad job. 25% seems much more reasonable if they’re doing a standard job as a landlord by doing things like collecting your rent money on time.
