- Comment on Why do we have an internal monologue? 10 months ago:
I truly wish there was someone who could properly diagnose me. I did take a RAADS test a while back but I didn’t have a psychiatrist to bring my results to, so I go undiagnosed and likely will forever with the current health crisis. I don’t know if I can go on something like that without a proper diagnosis. I can’t even find a family doctor unfortunately.
But I appreciate the tip 😊 thank you.
- Comment on Why do we have an internal monologue? 10 months ago:
That sounds heavenly. Mine will not shut up. And when I’ve run out of current problems to worry about, I start thinking about all my past fuck ups an embarrassments. And that’s just in the time it takes to a simple activity. When I’m at work it is constant flipping back and forth between my anxious thoughts and doing my work and worrying about how I might be fucking up my work.
- Comment on Has google stopped working for finding anything? 10 months ago:
Did you maybe misunderstand what the commenter was asking for? We kind of need to know the search parameters and results before anyone could actually tell OP where they went wrong. Search engines are still search engines, even if you have to scroll through 6 ads to get to the results
- Comment on Does anyone wish they could go back to the beginning of schooling and re-live their education/school experience from the start? 10 months ago:
I doubt many people would willingly go through it a second time.
- Comment on Does anyone wish they could go back to the beginning of schooling and re-live their education/school experience from the start? 10 months ago:
This is the only thing that would make me say no. I could relive the shitty school years, I could not relive the shitty home years.
- Comment on How much do you guys tip your landlord? 10 months ago:
You just have to scroll down a little, you don’t even have to go to their profile. Just a simple scroll for a little context is all that was required.
- Comment on How much do you guys tip your landlord? 10 months ago:
No, it’s pretty obvious if you look at their other comments. Nobody is seriously going to about tipping their landlord though.
- Comment on How much do you guys tip your landlord? 10 months ago:
While this is the most accurate description of a landlord, I believe OP was joking.

Rage bait headline does its job I guess.
He wasn’t saying that in a way that’s negative towards workers but towards CEOs. He’s right, no one cares about enriching the fat cats.

- Comment on When a place is called " Heights", what does "heights" mean/refer to? 11 months ago:
Where I live there is a “College Heights”. It is not at a higher elevation, in fact it is one of the lowest areas, nor is it near the college. They just name shit whatever they think will make the most money.
- Comment on 11 months ago:
Capitalism won’t let anything about you be yours if it can be avoided and the government works for the corporations. With enough money and government interference anything is possible and it is utterly naive to think otherwise.

If we could pick and choose what we share then it might not be so bad, but commodification of genetic information is weird.
- Comment on 11 months ago:
Having access to diseases that run in your family when you are adopted is a great benefit of it, and doing that at a private lab is way more expensive. And the one my sister did connected her with family members who were interested in being contacted. It’s not that there is a lack of benefit to the service, it’s that the services aren’t worth the privacy intrusion.

I think the point was that roll starting didn’t work anymore.

You might not, but anyone who has to breathe around it will.

I am absolutely not willing to make any sacrifices. We deserve the four day work week. Full stop

Yes.

You spelled Canucks wrong and your broad generalization is insulting to millions of people, especially since the majority of us are smarter than that.

And yet so many Canadians seem to want to dive head first in to a fully private healthcare system as if anyone could take that financial hit.
- Comment on What the hell is this shit? Instead of pushing for the return to traditional pensions, capitalism is celebrating the idea that Millennials & Gen Z may simply never be able to stop working. 1 year ago:
Who need a life if you’re working all the time? If you were serious about retiring you’d work yourself to death to get there!

I don’t get the privilege of owning a home, why should I get to retire? 🤷♀️

Thank you! English gives us too many options sometimes.

- Comment on What does cigarette smoking do for people? 1 year ago:
There is also Chantix/Champex depending on your country. I found it to be extremely effective in turning me off of cigarettes. It made me nauseous and I think it changed how my brain felt about cigarettes until they disgusted me.

For some people it’s because an old guy said it. Or because he’s rich. Or whatever excuse they have to not make anything better because they fear change.
First less hours but what’s next? More pay? Healthcare? HOUSING SUBSIDIES?!?! 😱 Then who will be low class enough for certain people to look down on?
- Comment on why do girls wear leggings? 1 year ago:
Bring up your dress code with your employer. Tell them you are concerned it is not inclusive enough. My boss very quickly added that the pictures are just guidelines and if it falls within the office appropriate “business casual” guidelines then it’s fine. Our dress code genderless and allows for cultural clothing even though it didn’t specify that.
I agree with the robes though. Summer climates especially require a more Middle Eastern type clothing. Light layers, light colours, and lots of airflow.

People want a way to express their dislike without getting in to a stupid internet fight about it. Look at how long people rallied for a dislike button on Facebook.
