Hiked Mt Oberon today. If it counts as a hike, the track was very well formed. Image

So pretty, I feel like a bad Victorian that I’ve never been to Wilsons. Need to change this.
LowExperience2368@aussie.zone 5 hours ago
It’s a pain to get to. I only went because I saw a bus tour on Meetup and it was cheaper than if I were to drive myself.
melbaboutown@aussie.zone 7 hours ago
Yeah I’m moving this meat to the freezer as I won’t be able to cook it today. Right now the focus is getting things back up off the floor and doing laundry including the clothes that fell in case of any flea eggs.
My BigDubya stick vac works impressively for the size and quality but I wish it was quieter. It’s such a hassle to vacuum with a thing that screams but the quieter stick vacs in my budget don’t pick up a thing.

Oh good. The neighbour who likes to burn things on their smoker 24/7 bought a home karaoke machine to add to the fun.
Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone 7 hours ago
Fight back. By a cheap drumkit and let out your frustrations.
RustyRaven@aussie.zone 8 hours ago
I had a fairly productive day today. A couple of loads of washing done. Yoghurt made. Some cloth hemmed and shaped for the straining of yoghurt tomorrow. Lawn mown.
Bottom_racer@aussie.zone 15 hours ago
Went for a boogie last night, ended up walking home (only 4km) at 5am like the good ol’ days.
It’s a very calm walk that takes you over the johnson st. bridge which I’d say has one of the better views of the city. Didn’t see a soul on that walk. Just you, the footpath and the mission.

Melbcat looked so rough this morning even after meds… but I managed to give her fluids while she was lying in bed with me and we both rested while her tank filled. The Dine melting broths got her to eat a little bit. She’s somewhat perked up again.
spoiler
Then I woke up and she’d eaten the homemade broth from last night that I forgot to take away 🤢 She’s just had another half pouch of cat soup and has now gone into her hidey hole. I’ve refilled the bowl with the rest and put it nearby in the hope she keeps on eating. She partly tipped the litter box trying to get in so I think it’s time I try to saw down the sides of larger containers to make wide shallow boxes. I have a mini hacksaw but will see if I have the energy.
Haven’t seen the black cat much. I’ve been busy and saw him lounging in the common area maybe last week but he didn’t run over. Ever since I started feeding him and gave him a parasite treatment I’ve seen a lot less of him. I can only hope that means others may also be helping and he’s okay.
spoiler
Speaking of which… there’s a round red flaking lesion on my knee 🤨 It shouldn’t be what I think it is as I usually wore long pants and often showered after patting him but… I’ve washed it with sulfur soap, applied anti fungal cream and covered it with bandaids. Please do not let me have to deal with decontaminating my house of ringworm on top of everything else. I have a small bottle of F10 disinfectant but I have zero energy to spare and half the place is carpet.
My house has slid back into kaos
imoldgreeeg@aussie.zone 9 hours ago
It’s a good sign that she is eating. The Laos can wait (but oh I understand the frustration. I am trying to do one little unKAOS thing every day for ‘lent’ and I am struggling).
melbaboutown@aussie.zone 8 hours ago
Yeah that’s the most important thing. The cat soup pouches are expensive and not nutritious but it’s so good that she’s eating. I got a bunch of them.
I had it fairly under control and then this week hit… between a mess of pills and medical supplies, clothing that fell onto the floor when I grabbed something to head out, and the groceries just brought in… the place looks like it’s been hit by a bomb
Seagoon_@aussie.zone 8 hours ago
melbs, you are amazing the way you are looking after mcat, she sounds like she is recovering well under your expert and loving care 🥹 I was so worried for you both.
melbaboutown@aussie.zone 8 hours ago
I really hope she is 😭
I’m regretting the choice of surgery and will just have to monitor with bloods to see if the acute kidney damage heals
Seagoon_@aussie.zone 10 hours ago
beach done, I walked all the way to the big mangroves, it was a little iffy, the sand is unstable because of the underlying silt , it was so quiet tho, I could hear nothing but birds and water and just smelt nature . Five hundred metres closer to Point Little I could smell civilisation again, a bit of smoke, dust, sunscreen. Found a cool big cork from a fishing net and some nice shells.
CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 15 hours ago
A collection of cat videos. Enjoy.

The dough kitty, love it!
Seagoon_@aussie.zone 14 hours ago
I liked the kitty slap, the pocket and most of all the baker cat 🐈⬛🥖

The website: onio.club is pretty much the internet from when we were in high school.

That looks so nostalgic
Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone 20 hours ago
After pirating it for 22 years I’ve decided to buy Ableton Live which I use for music.
Fair is fair.

I wonder what it’s like to have a full night of uninterrupted sleep?
Eagle@aussie.zone 21 hours ago
Can people do that?
Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone 21 hours ago
In sitting on 18 months with a handful of 6 hour blocks :(
Alamutjones@aussie.zone 18 hours ago
I think I’ve done this once in the last two years. It was nice, but unrepeatable
Catfish@aussie.zone 21 hours ago
What mythical beast is that?
Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone 21 hours ago
The old ones speak of it in hushed whispers
melbaboutown@aussie.zone 22 hours ago
Beats me

I have marketed
The spoils
- Peri peri (peri?) marinated chicken
- A bit of venison from the fancy game shop in the deli-hall. It was a good price, I quite like venison and I rarely have it. @TheWitchofThornbury2@aussie.zone , since I saw you mentioning you were fond of rabbit, I also saw whole rabbits for $25 and they were willing to joint them for you
- Milk
- Blackberries
- Blueberries
- Raspberries
- Nashi pears, my beloved
- Eggplant
- Zucchini
- Capsicum, red and green
- Spinach
- Green beans
- Broccoli
- Bok choy
SituationCake@aussie.zone 12 hours ago
Nashi pears are my beloved too! Such an underrated fruit, so crunchy and refreshing when they are fresh. I want more people to eat them so that supply goes up.
useless_modern_god@aussie.zone 18 hours ago
I desire meatloaf now. A moist meatloaf.
Eagle@aussie.zone 15 hours ago
I make a beautiful one, with a layer of scotch eggs through the middle, then its wrapped in bacon and cooked. Tip it out onto a flat baking tray and top with mashed potatoes and cheese and back in the oven… its awesome.
Seagoon_@aussie.zone 15 hours ago
I bet mr seagoon would like this recipe
Seagoon_@aussie.zone 18 hours ago
confession
I have never had meatloaf. Not ever.
CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 15 hours ago
It’s like a giant sausage roll without pastry. Must be served with mashed potato and gravy. Delicious.
useless_modern_god@aussie.zone 17 hours ago
You’re not missing much, but it’s true that the leftover sandwiches are the real hero of the story.
tombruzzo@aussie.zone 17 hours ago
Does anyone know what analogue cream is? Does it have a smoother and warmer profile than digital cream?
analogue cream
CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 16 hours ago
Clayton’s. The cream you have when you’re not having cream.
I assume it tastes like shit.
Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone 16 hours ago
You smear it over the mixing desk and say a prayer. Then an audiophile appears and tells you it sounds amazing.
tombruzzo@aussie.zone 14 hours ago
I heard it helps glue your midrange together if applied evenly
Taleya@aussie.zone 15 hours ago
It’s an analogue of ceeam. Like can’t believe it’s not butter. Usually just veggie fats and shizz. Can be wonderfully shelf stable if done right
Bottom_racer@aussie.zone 13 hours ago
tombruzzo@aussie.zone 14 hours ago
I guess that means it’s dairy free. I’ll need to look into it as that might be good for my girlfriend
CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 17 hours ago
Great night. Breakfast. Hair cut. Car washed. Bought a new fan. I’m now collecting them.

Everything I need to do this weekend is done.
Let the leisure time commence.
And by leisure time I mean reading SCP’s in bed and eating cheddar shapes.
RustyRaven@aussie.zone 16 hours ago
Good work. I have no idea what SCP’s are but I’m sure reading them will be great!
I was aiming to get all my chores done early, but it’s too hot in the sun for lawnmowing so I put that off until it gets cooler.
Taleya@aussie.zone 15 hours ago
Oh man, you’ve never come across the SCP foundation?
I wnvy you. Also ration that rabbit hole, it ate up entire 8 hour graveyard shifts back in the day for me
Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone 15 hours ago
They’re amazing!
It’s a crowd sourced Sci fi fiction site that’s been going since 2005.
Google SCP 1425 and see what you think!
