Catching up with a friend I haven’t seen for 30 years on Saturday afternoon. We reconnected recently and now she’s back in Australia. Just not sure where to go! I’m going to ask them at work, they all actually go out to grown up places 😆Any suggestions would be welcomed.

Oh that’s exciting!! I hope you have a wonderful time! Are you going into the city or looking for a different area?
PeelerSheila@aussie.zone 3 weeks ago
Thankyou! The city or immediate surrounds is probably easier for both of us.
Thornburywitch@aussie.zone 3 weeks ago
There’s a fair few rooftop bars around now - maybe one of those?
PeelerSheila@aussie.zone 3 weeks ago
Sounds lovely, though I’m thinking somewhere quieter maybe.
SaneMartigan@aussie.zone 3 weeks ago
Forecast 29 degrees. Maybe some CBD area galleries and late arvo cocktail?
PeelerSheila@aussie.zone 3 weeks ago
A gallery with a nice place to eat 🤔 That actually sounds really good. Those places are usually quiet, which is great because we’ve got a lot to catch up on.

Every 4 years I fall in love with multiple female biathletes
tone212_@aussie.zone 3 weeks ago
I was juggling shopping bags and my heavy backpack on one shoulder arriving home earlier when the backpack slipped off my shoulder and landed directly on my big toe.
Screams of anguish followed, my god it hurt like hell. Worst part is over and I’m icing my toe.
Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone 3 weeks ago
Sorry to hear it :(
When that happens to me, I start quickly repeating “worstpartisover worstpartisover”. I think it helps.
Maybe.
Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone 3 weeks ago
Again. Same spot. The kid in front of me almost got hit by a car. These fucking pieces of shit.

Lent is this Wednesday. I’ll be doing no added sugar during lent as per usual. If anyone wants to join me you’re welcome to.
RustyRaven@aussie.zone 3 weeks ago
You shall not come between me and my sugar.
CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 3 weeks ago
You can choose whatever else that may suit. I choose sugar because that’s the easiest for me. After a week I choose something else to add to my no diet. And so forth.
SaneMartigan@aussie.zone 3 weeks ago
Is that like no lollies or no sugar in tea?
CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 3 weeks ago
No lollies, cakes, biscuits, ice cream, chocolate, soft drinks etc. Fruit is allowed. I don’t have sugar in my hot drinks anyway.
Seagoon_@aussie.zone 3 weeks ago
I am already struggling with removing all dairy from my food.
SaneMartigan@aussie.zone 3 weeks ago
When I run out of cheese I’m not planning on buying anymore for a bit. But I have a fair amount of cheese in the fridge, dam you savemore.
LowExperience2368@aussie.zone 3 weeks ago
Hmmm no added sugar is slightly tricky for me but maybe I’ll give it a crack.
CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 3 weeks ago
You can choose whatever you want to give up. I do it as a personal challenge.

I’m sometimes a bit sad that my mother was not good at making salads and I grew up thinking of them as boring garnishes on the side of the plate. Now that I’ve mastered the art of combining ingredients and creating nice dressings salads are often my favourite part of a meal. A waste of all those years I could have been eating salads if only I’d realised sooner!
CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 3 weeks ago
My husband asked me today if we had chia seeds. Um I’ve been putting them in our salads for the past 4 months.
Taleya@aussie.zone 3 weeks ago
You got him craving them now
Seagoon_@aussie.zone 3 weeks ago
I might have a walk down the beach
SpinMeAround@aussie.zone 3 weeks ago
I had an excellent swim this evening, it was stunning out there!! Hope the beach treats you jusf as kindly!
melbaboutown@aussie.zone 3 weeks ago
Melbcat is eating a little bit of wet food thanks to the antinausea shot last night.
I’m extremely worried though. What I think has happened is she may have a post-surgery kidney injury, which was a risk and could have worsened her kidney disease by a lot. This could be serious. Having that surgery could have made her much sicker and shortened her life.
I’m still waiting for a call with the full blood results.
Seagoon_@aussie.zone 3 weeks ago
ok, serious gentle hugs and extra strong healing vibes going your way
RustyRaven@aussie.zone 3 weeks ago
I dropped avocado covered with salad dressing down my front while eating lunch. I tried to clean it up with a wet wipe and now I have a giant wet patch and smell of disinfectant. 😭
Seagoon_@aussie.zone 3 weeks ago
get as much of that stuff off as possible before you wash as avocado will stain clothes
RustyRaven@aussie.zone 3 weeks ago
At least it’s just my work uniform. And if it does stain I can mostly hide it behind my lanyard!

@Bottom_racer@aussie.zone mid March includes a Saturday as the 14th PI DAY just a thought…
Bottom_racer@aussie.zone 3 weeks ago
ee that means party pies :) I will do a few test runs they usually explode.
Thornburywitch@aussie.zone 3 weeks ago
Cut a couple of little slits in the top pastry before putting it on the pie. This allows steam to escape which is what usually causes splosions.
SaneMartigan@aussie.zone 3 weeks ago
The 15th is Baku’s birthday if they’re still about.
Alamutjones@aussie.zone 3 weeks ago
I’m going to play with my new onigiri molds
SpinMeAround@aussie.zone 3 weeks ago
Whatcha gonna put in them?
Seagoon_@aussie.zone 3 weeks ago
LowExperience2368@aussie.zone 3 weeks ago
Ooooh I had an onigiri yesterday! So so good. It had wasabi in it
melbaboutown@aussie.zone 3 weeks ago
Melbcat slept all day yesterday, ate little and walked out oddly wobbly with her heels down to have some cat grass. Down at the emergency vet and they say it’s ataxia. Waiting on bloods
Seagoon_@aussie.zone 3 weeks ago
sending lots of healing vibes and hugs 🫂🐈⬛
melbaboutown@aussie.zone 3 weeks ago
Thanks. Her potassium was high and we’ll hopefully get the blood results tomorrow

I keep getting notifications saying my phone battery has deteriorated and that I should contact Samsung support. Going to use AccuBattery to see how low that percentage has gotten.
Eagle@aussie.zone 3 weeks ago
My S21 has been giving me the same notification for months.
LowExperience2368@aussie.zone 3 weeks ago
Interesting. Mine was 74%. I hear that is not good. Had to download a third party app to get that number.
tombruzzo@aussie.zone 3 weeks ago
I need to remember to bring my kobo to work. I’m reading this play about Peer Gynt and I can feel how it’s based on folklore I know nothing about
SaneMartigan@aussie.zone 3 weeks ago
I should sell my kobo, I read books on my phone.
Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone 3 weeks ago
Hit me up
tombruzzo@aussie.zone 3 weeks ago
That’s the upside, you always have it with you. And I don’t pay for ebooks so I can’t sync them between devices. I could probably do some Calibre server sync but any time I try something like that I just hit a wall
Seagoon_@aussie.zone 3 weeks ago
time to do some chores

Will be buying ticket today for Epic Brass at Fitzroy Bowling Club. Anyone else still interested? Event is next Sunday 3-6 pm. Tix are $25 general admission - no concession info available on the website.
RustyRaven@aussie.zone 3 weeks ago
It was a very warm night, but I think it’s time to buy a new electric blanket before the weather changes and catches me unprepared. Any recommendations?
Catfish@aussie.zone 3 weeks ago
Electric? Just get another cat
RustyRaven@aussie.zone 3 weeks ago
Well, my current cat will only come to bed once it has already warmed up. She’s only interested in being warmed, not doing the warming. Mr Woof does pre-warm a small section of bed, but he leaves to do his security patrols when I go to bed. So I really think an electric blanket would be a more reliable option.
SituationCake@aussie.zone 3 weeks ago
If you have pets, don’t buy one with the felt type cover. You can NEVER get the fur off. But if you do, be extra careful when changing bed linen that the furry family members don’t get near the exposed electric blanket, they will leave their hairy legacy there forever.
RustyRaven@aussie.zone 3 weeks ago
Everything in my life is already covered in fur, there is no escape.
Taleya@aussie.zone 3 weeks ago
60 buck kmart one works fine. You don’t need to get too fancy
Seagoon_@aussie.zone 3 weeks ago
Good night everyone
sweet dreams 😘

Today I convinced a client to dump their incumbent provider and sign with the org I work for.
Got another client to agree to a full security audit.
And a 3rd one to let us do their cyber security insurance.
Big wins for a Monday. Sadly positive feedback is non-existent here. Ah well.
RustyRaven@aussie.zone 3 weeks ago
🎉🍾🥳 Congratulations and good work! Go you, you are awesome!
Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone 3 weeks ago
That’s incredibly kind of you, thank you :)
tombruzzo@aussie.zone 3 weeks ago
Billable hours reports don’t lie if that’s all people there care about. They’ll notice soon enough one way or another
Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone 3 weeks ago
Exactly. I’ve got a few options in my back pocket this time. The stress of an organisation controlling whether or not I can continue to have somewhere to live is too much stress.
Seagoon_@aussie.zone 3 weeks ago
this is awesome work 🙂
