I say it should be illegal to incorporate the word “snow” in the names of things that are not white.

Many animals that live in temperate climates change colors every year.
It’s not the case of this one. I just wanted to point that many do :)
(Now, seriously, gray and white are probably a very good disguise in places where the snow doesn’t take over everything all the time.)

Hmm… “Sometimes Snow <whatever>”?
FuyuhikoDate@feddit.org 2 weeks ago
Also Greenland isn’t green…
TwilightKiddy@programming.dev 2 weeks ago
Yes! We should have swapped the names for Iceland and Greenland so long ago!

Look up fire coral :D
emergencyfood@sh.itjust.works 2 weeks ago
They live in areas that are covered by snow for at least part of the year, such as the Himalayas, Tibet and parts of Central Asia and Mongolia. The animal itself can vary in colour from cream to grey or tan.

remon@ani.social 3 weeks ago
Right under the snow patch on the top you can see the face.
ik5pvx@lemmy.world 3 weeks ago
Just beside the perfectly focused rock wall on the left, yes, it’s that blurred thing
m0darn@lemmy.ca 3 weeks ago
It’s brown, right below the big snow bank at the top
unprovenbreeze@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 weeks ago
Right in the middle of the picture, near the rock. I had to zoom in to find it 😅
ceenote@lemmy.world 3 weeks ago
To be fair, the (apparently) huge icicles throw off the sense of scale.

huf@hexbear.net 2 weeks ago
i think a lot of animals are pretty shit at seeing stationary things. by which i mean a lot worse than us.
Sv443@sh.itjust.works 2 weeks ago
Waiting for the day I see this pic and the leopard is edited out
someguy3@lemmy.world 3 weeks ago
Make sure you click the HD button.
Devjavu@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 weeks ago
Squint, it’ll be easier.
Also, while impressive, I find this, if taken in the cintect of a test, as not very realistic idk about other species but human eyes primarily work woth contrast and movement. So much so, that the moving dot that will be the leopard will be caught by our peripheral vision just as easily as a pink panther.
xtrapoletariat@beehaw.org 2 weeks ago
I think the pink ones didn’t fare so well in evolutionary terms.
Kolanaki@pawb.social 2 weeks ago
Hint: Don’t look in the snow for something white.
