Well I had a fairly sedentary day today at home with the kids. Cleared some things out of the fridge and freezer. I tried a beginner flow yoga style routine but it didn’t really work for me because I’ve lost a lot of flexibility over the years without realising. Even sitting cross legged on the floor is hard because I’m so stiff in the knees 😫 so I did the 1000 step challenge again because my step count is way down and the routine is fun and not hard in the wrong way lol.

There’s chair yoga if that would be easier
PeelerSheila@aussie.zone 17 hours ago
Ooh thanks Melba I hadn’t thought of chair yoga! Might give that one a go later on today 👍🏼
CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 1 day ago
There’s this pose that you can do using a yoga belt. It’s like this
spoiler
But instead you start out sitting up with your legs slightly apart and bent but feet together. It opens the hips up. As you get used to it, you bring your feet closer to your body. The good thing is you can go at your own pace. 2 minutes a day or 10 minutes a day it doesn’t matter. You can also put blocks or cushions on the outside so your knees have something to rest on. It’s a good gentle stretch before workouts.
PeelerSheila@aussie.zone 1 day ago
Heeey that’s a good one! Just gave it a try and I can feel where it would get easier with practice. Tyvm!
Seagoon_@aussie.zone 1 day ago
you’re doing great, it takes time 😽

Aww thankee!

Gibson is a little more chatty after her surgery. Her spay wasn’t done properly the first time so she had to have another surgery.
She kinda squeaks and chirps lol
SpinMeAround@aussie.zone 1 day ago
That’s so cute that she’s chatting!!
Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone 1 day ago
Yeah she’s been chatting all day. Also really cuddly lol
Seagoon_@aussie.zone 1 day ago
aw, so many hugs for her

Mickey has been safely taken to his cattery hotel. He hissed for the first time ever, because he doesn’t like the other cats, but he was still sweet to me. I haven’t cried of anything, I know he’s gonna settle in when he realises the other cats can’t get to him.
Now I just have to sort out the rest of my stuff for tomorrow morning’s flight 💀
Eagle@aussie.zone 1 day ago
Haven’t cried… yet. 😭 He’ll be okay, and you will have the break that you need. Keep busy, get packed and go!
StudChud@aussie.zone 1 day ago
I’m sure I will cry when I get to Perth 😂 I’ll miss him too much!
Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone 1 day ago
Naaaaaaaw. He’ll be OK ❤️
SpinMeAround@aussie.zone 1 day ago
The one time I took Toby to a dog resort I absolutely bawled my eyes out. So grateful that the staff were very kind and understanding.
StudChud@aussie.zone 1 day ago
The cattery owner did our check in and she said a lot of people go to the car and lose it lol
I was okay, I still am! My partner has been teary all day about it. I’ll cry later one when I’m two states away haha!

she looks sad and a big sook
Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone 1 day ago
She’s sooking way less and just demanding to sit on my lap. Also a lot more chatty. Like 1000% more chatty lol

Last wander around Brunswick to get some things before tomorrow. Got some 3/4 pants, a handbag, and a toiletry bag from Savers. Partner got new jeans and trakkies, and a pair of sneakers.
I also had to buy the Essendon membership scarf. I dont have any Bombers merch, despite them being my team, so I thought it would be pretty funny if people thought I was a member. Also we have a Freo scarf my partner owns, so it’s only fair 😂
Already missing Mickey, but I know he’ll have a good time. The other cats there were all very happy and really liked seeing the cattery owner, so I think he’ll warm up to the place very quickly. The cat opposite him is called Fat Charlie, he’s on a diet, and he was the fattest damn cat I’ve seen in real life 😂
Seagoon_@aussie.zone 1 day ago
Ted spent most of his early life in catteries and he is very social, adaptable and very chill. I think catteries are good for cats.
Mickey will be fine. 😺
Have a great time😽😽😽

Took a train trip to Thomastown and the station’s resident crackhead was very helpful when we were trying to c change the boy’s nappy. She felt like quirky sort of NPC in the starting world of a game that teaches you all the mechanics.
I hope your phone finishes charging, Thomastown station crackhead lady.
Seagoon_@aussie.zone 1 day ago
thank you for humanising crackhead lady
tombruzzo@aussie.zone 1 day ago
She was going about her day and she was nice to us. People have things going on in their lives others will never understand but we can still be kind to each other

I’m doing surprisingly ok given the amount of alcohol I had last night coupled with lack of sleep. Also productive despite the late start. But I have dinner with some friends tonight and they’ll all be drinking and there’s no way I’ll be able to stomach round 2. Water for me.
CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 1 day ago
Breakfast cost me $17 + $15 petrol money this morning. 2 hash browns, 2 McMuffins and a drink. Would it have been cheaper to order thru Ubereats? Did the pint sized Offspring rip me off?
Catfish@aussie.zone 1 day ago
What on earth is the problem some men have with reading the fucking instructions?!?!
Bottom_racer@aussie.zone 1 day ago
Hehe… guilty.
Not asking for directions either lol.
SpinMeAround@aussie.zone 1 day ago
I got a touch frustrated this week by the replacement I’m training because I would give her all of the instructions in an email and she would only read half and then be like ??? Reeeeeead, then ask questions.
Seagoon_@aussie.zone 1 day ago
it’s people, people don’t read instructions
🤷♀️
lazy, impatient , can’t understand them
Catfish@aussie.zone 1 day ago
I do. Sometimes I ignore them, but I do read them. 😺
Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone 1 day ago
It wouldn’t be fun with the instructions. Half the joy is figuring it out lol

beach ☠️
so I was down the beach and saw a strange interesting looking box thing bobbing in the water just off the sand
I grabbed a stick to pull it in to check it out, it was heavy, took a step in the water to have a look, I have good waterproof boots, read the label
cremation remains!!!
I didn’t touch, left it there in the water, I scooted outta there
it will wash up overnight , I’ll let the early morning walkers deal with it
took a pic of the beach
PeelerSheila@aussie.zone 1 day ago
Oh wow, I would’ve freaked out a bit too. Someone doing a sea burial and didn’t put the box out far enough, or not realising that you can open the box and hopefully not do a Big Lebowski with the ashes as you cast them to the wind over the sea? I’m picturing a group of people having an emotional and heartfelt goodbye at the end of the pier, and ceremonially and reverently tossing the box into the water… only to have it slowly bob it’s way back onto the beach! I guess that’s life (and death) for ya.
Seagoon_@aussie.zone 1 day ago
that’s what I was thinking, just people throwing the box off the pier or maybe from a boat not far enough off shore
I was also wondering the who and how , it will be a farce when it gets to them via the cops
Seagoon_@aussie.zone 1 day ago
tired, back pain kept me awake
CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 1 day ago
Gentle hugs 🫂
My shoulder woke me up the other morning so I put the electric blanket on and popped an ibuprofen. I’ve never taken so many before in my life. I was going about my business just fine and then bang. No more exercise, no more driving, lifting, dog walks. It sucks hard.
Seagoon_@aussie.zone 1 day ago
that’s awful, hope you are feeling better now

I’ve started Silksong and while I suck at it, it’s good fun!!
MeanElevator@aussie.zone 1 day ago
I started Hell Is Us…story wise it’s so intriguing and darkly realistic in a way.
Never played hollow knight so silksong is out my league.
Worth it?
SpinMeAround@aussie.zone 13 hours ago
I jumped straight to Silksong, having never played Hollow Knight. Might regret it but we’ll see!
Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone 1 day ago
I want to go to bed. Been up since 6am-ish. Might have to have a long nap.
SpinMeAround@aussie.zone 1 day ago
Still planning on celebrating tonight?
Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone 1 day ago
It’s going to have to wait till next weekend unfortunately. I’ve wrecked from waking up too early and I’m still taking antibiotics which isn’t helping :(
RustyRaven@aussie.zone 1 day ago
I’ve spent the afternoon doing lots of sorting of groceries and the fridge. I had some bits of capsicum left, so I did a refrigerator pickle with those and a few of the fresh mushrooms. I’ve also sliced up leftover pumpkin and sweet potato and roasted them for the freezer. I’ve made a start on packing up the meat and will finish the rest tomorrow.
The liver is cooking with lots of bacon & onion (making lots of yummy gravy) and I’ll just need to do some mashed potato to go with it. I didn’t use all the liver, so there’s a package of that back in the fridge to figure out what to do with too. The pieces you got were a lot smaller when I was a kid, and I remember it being something you could only get sometimes. The butcher and supermarket would only get a limited amount on one day of the week, there was not a constant supply. And because they didn’t have the vacuum packaging it didn’t last that long either so you had to be a lot more careful to make sure it was fresh.
Seagoon_@aussie.zone 1 day ago
it bothers me there was so little recognition of 9/11 tragedy the past few days
it’s like under that government the past doesn’t exist
SpinMeAround@aussie.zone 1 day ago
Bit ranty, I guess.
I’ve been feeling really odd about stuff like this lately. There is so much happening in the world, so many great things, so many horrific things. I understand the world keeps spinning, but it feels we’re so quick to dimiss and move on. And I mean this about wars, games, music, political events, natural disasters. We churn through things so quickly.
Seagoon_@aussie.zone 1 day ago
yup

and I think it’s done on purpose to keep us from thinking too deeply about things It’s a cult thing, a barrage of facts and half facts that our brain can’t keep up with the only sane thing to do is disengage and then choose what to read and see
tombruzzo@aussie.zone 1 day ago
I think I’ll finally take the trailer pram in to get fixed. With the boys getting older their sleep window is getting shorter to duck out and do things. sometimes they don’t sleep at all
Alamutjones@aussie.zone 1 day ago
I have gymed and will now market
RustyRaven@aussie.zone 1 day ago
Grocery delivery should be arriving in the next hour. Lots of yummy things to pack away, and liver for dinner tonight. Miss Meow and Mr Woof are very excited. OK, they are both completely oblivious and happily napping, but I’m sure they would be excited if they could understand what I was telling them.
There is one substitution made - they didn’t have any Coles Simply butter, so I am getting Coles butter instead. I do not understand why these are different products.

Ok the waterworks have started. I feel like the worst damn cat slave lol. I know I’m not, it’s not like I sent him to a gulag - it’s a dang palace!
I’m also the usual anxious about travelling, and when I’m anxious I tend to cuddle the cat. So this feels quite hard.
I think I’ll feel better when I’m away and gone, where I’m not around all his cat things 😂😭💀

Don’t worry, I will definitely cut my trip short if I’m having a bad time, or if Mickey is unwell lol
I just love him so so much
